    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga Před 3 dny

      As far as I understand, a small currenct is leaking through the capacitor and this is how power flows to the smart switch. Since it is only wired into the live wire and not the neutral, the circuit is completed through the capacitor and the neutral on the other side of the capacitor.

    Hi thanks just found this site, very good description, I have many sonoff devices. I suggested to sonoff early days with the NSPanel that +/- 1 degree is too wide a hysteresis band for a UK domestic radiator central heating system. I had hoped they may have added the option of +/- 0.5 C by now. +/- 1 C represents a 3 degree swing. So if set room temp needs to be 20 C it goes up to 21C then it has to drop to 19C before it cuts back in again, in colder weather due to the boiler/rad re heat up delay the room temp drops lower than 19C. With a tighter band It would also be good to have some choice control setting over the delay time between on off.

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga Před 5 dny

      Thanks. I agree with that, not to mention with radiators the room hears up quicker, but with underfloor heating it would take longer until you feel that the heating kicking in again.

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga Před 24 dny

      That is a very good question, but I think it would work. Arduino IDE most probably sends out a broadcast message to which the ESPs respond to. That should work on a local AP as well.

  • @m.j.r.technologyreveiws1075

    I'm not sure if the code that I used for my ESP32 'Matter Toilet Flusher' project is directly usable on the Espressif sight. However, it is adjustable for Garage Controller use and effectively takes advantage of the inching principle. The delay is adjustable in the code. You are welcome to see it at the below CZcams link and the GitHub link is in the description of my video. czcams.com/video/5RAUbxqeI5k/video.html

  • @m.j.r.technologyreveiws1075

    I am with you on the garage door project. However, the Matter team has not moved yet on implementing the Garage Door Device Type into the protocol. So, for now, you would only be able to make an inching dry contact switch for the door button. It would likely not be able to display as a 'Garage Door' in HomeKit like a real Matter Device Type should once implemented.

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga Před 26 dny

      Yes, I am thinking about the same. A simple switch with inching. It would be good enough until the proper device type is added to Matter. I mean this is such a basic thing, I don't understand why this was in included in the beginning.

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga Před 26 dny

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga Před 26 dny

      @@yoshimochii I never used this module, but looking at a few pictures, it looks like there is an antenna connector. That assumes it is designed with external antenna only. So don't use it until you get the antenna and connect it to the module.

      @@csongorvarga ohh, i see. That's unfortunate. I thought it would still work but on very short distances. This is because I have an esp32 devkitcv4 wroom-32u (the one that has an antenna connector) and I could still connect to wifi even without an antenna. Thanks for the warning though! (but it REALLY makes me wanna try lol)

    Is there any firmware update for these energy meters? Newer meters are reported in zigbee2mqtt as SPM01v2 and additionally measure power factor and frequency. I don't know if it makes sense to try using the Tuya gateway for updating or it's only related to HW?

      Oh, that is a very good question. To be honest, I have never seen a firmware update in Tuya. But my Zigbee2MQTT is trying to update a IKEA switch. I have no idea how these updates are triggered in zigbee to be honest.
