26:15 That exhaust note though. What a beautiful sound!
Definitely a unique one!
Born in 64. I'm loving this from NY
James Garner would be proud! I had a 1980 Camero, very similar to the fire chicken. I totally enjoy you shows! thanks , Dan
Thank you for your APPRECIATION to your subscribers
Yay I get to watch it before I go to bed lol
Haha! I hope you enjoy!
@@BudgetBuildz oh I will, you know you have to bring it by when it's rd worthy and let me relive my teenage years 😆😆
Uk based also?
@@carlover773 nope Us , I just get up at 4 am to go to work
@@BudgetBuildz another good video... you should be take the trunk off and patch it.... to save the originality of the car!!!
Fun fact.....James Garner was a stunt driver before he was in movies...
He personally picked that car because it had the best front to back weight ratio which was good for stunt driving
You guys are just down the road from me!
It's nice to know that the airplanes that plague my videos are audible in yours as well. ✈
Car is turning out great. I don’t care who you are, if you grew up in the 70’s and 80’s, these cars were cool. Looking forward to the progress.
12:23 as a Brit, glad you pronounced aluminium correctly ! 😂
You and your dad are great your dads so chill your a great team
Never have I ever been smiling ear to ear for youtube video! I own 76 firebird Formula, and seeing you guys, some take the time to put it back on the road, and talking about taking it on a hot rod power tour makes me ecstatic! Most folks say that generation is too slow and choked by emissions, but see you having good ole time taking around giving it the beans and appreciating how fun those cars are! Thank you. I can't wait to see more!!
I was grinning from ear to ear as well!
Rockford J turns ,Awesome! 😁 I Read that James Garner did his own driving stunts in the show.
I have a 1978 Firebird Esprit built at Van Nuys California. I found 2 build sheets , one behind the rear seat and one under the front drivers seat base.
Love me some old Firebird!!!! That exhaust sounds awesome!!!!
That thunderbird back there with the flats looks wicked needs black deep rims
Nothing better than sitting eating dinner watching budget builds , if your reading this and your not subscribed do it!!! Michael is a legend and his dad of course haha
What a lovely old thing this is! Runs as sweet as a nut and it's underbody looks perfect 😃 👍👍
Aluminium sounds perfect to me! 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Nice to someone actually using a fitting wrench.
What A Cool Old Pontiac Firebird Formula, I’m So Glad You Guys Got It Running, Saving It From Scrapyards, Keep That Restoration Rolling, She’s Totally Worth It.. Good Job Gentlemen..
The Bandit would be proud.
I love the way you and your dad work together, amazing to see this running, cant wait for the next part :)
We really appreciate it! 😊 Can’t wait to share more!
MANUAL SWAP!!!!!!!! Mandatory!!!!
I’m very happy we are getting more content and you guys get to do it full time! Super excited to see more vids on the firebird!
That firebird is cool and I much prefer the rally wheels to as I think they look more aggressive than the honeycomb.
Keep improving on it and I'll keep watching!
It's nice watching a channel that doesn't just go out and dump an entire parts catalog into a project.
LOVE this car. I semi-recently sold an 81 Firebird field car that I resurrected and this brings a lot of joy to see another!
Rockford J turns! Awesome. I'm from Rockford Illinois! I'm also a Pontiac person!
Putting anti-seize on the axle under the drum helps keep things from rusting together , and on top under the rim helps too .
this was wild, seeing such a beauty start-up and rip tires all over the place.
Getting pretty close to 200k subscribers.. 👏👏👏👏💪💪
Please do a complete series on this car.
The interior
The body
The engine mods
And whatever else it needs
Shropshire lad here well older lad finally someone across the pond pronounces Aluminium correctly😁
I'm sure James Garner is Smiling Down on you, Good Job 👍
LOVE Firebirds, I’m from the Uk 🏴 and grew up watching the Rockford files and the Bandit Movies. I love how they look and the power they have,Just their
Overall presence and Strong Image. Great content, would love to see this fully restored would make, would make great content as well.
Top work guys 🙏🇺🇸🇬🇧🤟
Now all you need is the theme from the Rockford Files playing on the cassette deck.
That is so cool working with your dad. You guys deserve the best!
I have a 78 Formula, mine is a 350 small block, was a 4 speed manual but changed it to 5 speed. Great and fun car. My son loves it.
One of the very coolest looking things on the planet ever is a Trans Am of almost any generation (especially these Firebirds with the lower look to them) with an LSD doing a standing start and ripping a slightly sideways set of 11's and continuing to go for the distance! SAWEET! LOL.
I had the exact same car in the same color. Bought it when I was 18 and drove it for a few years. Wish so much that I would have kept it. Would love to find another one. Thanks for a trip down memory lane!
Jim Rockford would be proud of your 180 turn!
So would Angel
And Dennis too
Another great video, really impressed to hear an American say aluminium correctly!! Great stuff
Man I love the way the car sounds! After all that dial up work on the engine and brakes! The car sounds and runs like a kitten! I hope you guy’s restore that beauty!👌🥰👍great job guy’s! Looking forward to seeing more updates!
She sounds dang good.
Guys, thank you so much! Amazing !!! Love this Car . You THE BEST !!! Very good Job .
Fantastic car especially when restored.👍🏻
Great to see these old cars being rescued, gonna be a nice motor with replacement interior etc. Looking forward to seeing the next episode 👍
Cool !! I had an 80 Formula back in the day !!
Love it. Those wheels are definitely worth a proper "Budget Buildz" restoration. Maybe a separate video?
Brilliant guys its just fantastic that these great cars are saved and brought back to life, "Jimi Rockford would be very pleased😂🤣 best wishes
❤very cool! Beautiful firebird! Perfect! You are good! ❤👌👍😎
love what you gentle men do to those worn-out cars and put them back on the road. watching you from Nigeria in west Africa
Nice to see you putting some love into that car; there's no reason that bird shouldn't be able to fly! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I really enjoyed this revival👍!
Gotta love a hood firebird! I’ve got a few Pontiac parts laying around and I’m in Charleston if y’all are looking for parts!
Happy to see you guys are saving them !!
I’m still trying to figure out Telegram? But luv the videos!!
Love me some Rockford files!
Great video!
Waiting for a detailing video!
Finally the vacuum cleaner makes an appearance at 28:18 😆😂 As always excellent work! 👍👍
I loved the look of these old cars, but the heavy doors would leave a good mark if the came back on you, The old Monte Carlo was the same way. Nice video!
Yes I have been waiting for Pt2!!
What a great start for a project
I loved watching the Rockford files
Rockford files was my favorite show as a kid in England. 9 years old and I loved that car.
Absolutely superb job so well done,,what a fabulous car,,,yes! Dream job👍🤷🏼♂️👍🕊
Love the detailed closeups and the road shots. It's clear you guys enjoy what you do. That makes for success! Looking forward to more on this particular rescue! Excellent editing btw.
I may be partial, my first car was a '78 Trans Am, but this is my favorite car you have had on your channel. I'm currently doing the exact same thing with the brakes on a '65 LeMans. Though I had to replace the booster. It was shot. Keep up the great work, Mike! Glad to see more GM products. Love the Pontiacs!
My first car was a 67 Pontiac Tempest. Wish I had it now!
@@onemannews I know how you feel. I miss my T/A. The '67 Tempest is a nice ride! Probably my favorite year for the A-body Pontiacs.
Good work getting this driving again so quickly. I think "while we're in there" is gonna keep coming with this one, though...
Just found your channel a while ago; very entertaining and I really enjoy each episode. Thanks for what you do!
Consider yourself blessed! These guys are great to watch, and they keep it real. I have been watching them for a long time and love the variety they have. My wife and I watch it together and can't wait to see what is next! They seem like the type of guys you could just sit in a coffee shop with and enjoy a great conversation! Just cool.
@@giffjp Agreed :)
Just discovered your channel. Really enjoying the content and the enthusiasm you show for these cars. Big thumbs up and g'day from Australia.
I really have enjoy watching this channel good job on everything
Super cool project! Really enjoying this.
Will be a great car for the Hot rod power tour I glad you guys are looking into tires and brakes and the main thing of heating and cooling 💯👍🙌
HEY...THAT COULD BE THE VERY VEHICLE THAT JAMES ROCKFORD DROVE IN THE SHOW "THE ROCKFORD FILES"...YUP THAT'S GOTTA BE...NEAT FIND!!!
Great video James garner would be proud the Rockford files firebirds were actually converted 400 firebird formulas and the 1977 too 78 firebirds were his favorite off the firebirds used throughout the series ✌️
'Accuire' a large traffic cone to sit your wheel on to paint, prep and clean your wheels
Pontiacs usually have the Build Sheet under the Rear Bottom Seat tucked into the springs of the Bottom Seat.
It's such an awesome car. Makes me want to grab the wify and go work on the 79 trans am. Great work, guys.
Nice work, getting it back on the road…
You guys are gonna need a showroom or museum soon
OMG, a guy that knows what a flare nut wrench is.
Love those cars, had a 76 Firebird TA with a 400. Miss that car badly.
Great job! Love your videos and really excited to see the progress on the firebird!👍🏻😃
Oh yeah!
Such A Beautiful Car!!
One thing about the rockford car was it didn't have the wings across the trunk and I think they look awful without it! That's a beautiful car there!
You got that firebird breathing fire again🔥 can't wait to see the detail video, she gonna look 🍒 out!!
Keep it up guys!
Liquid phosphoric acid will remove that rust on the rims.
Love the choice of W/W
Cooper Tires= Made in the U.S.A.!
Heck yeah man keep on rolling 👍 love the trans am
Your pronunciation of "aluminium" was very good! 😊
Thats sure is a nice find and save !
Try “Iron out” spray on rust stains . Works great!
Love this Firebird! Great journey with this!
You're doing an awesome job on the old bird! I'm tickled that you got her on the road again. Sis is gonna cry when she sees this. Looking forward to seeing the next steps. 👍
B.B. GREAT VIDEO!! AWSOME,,,, MY SON AND I SAY ,, WE LIKE THIS LIVING,,, FIRE CHICKEN.. RESCUE PART 2,,...WE WANT TO KNOW DO YOU STILL HAVE THAT 1965 MUSTANG??? COME ON BRINGING PART 3.. THANK'S,, B/B..
Love it, and I can't wait to see what you can do with it.
Excellent video Budget Buildz Mike :) also your dad and great save this Pontiac Firebird Fourmla car after sitting those many years too ! One thing luck out is match front window match body paint color too and if Radio Antenna works plus radio too!
Could be a great project worth restoring
That Pontiac Firebird bodystyle is a classic that is pleasing to the eyes even in this day and age which I've loved as a kid growing up.
nice t-bird in the background
400 4 bbl would be perfect upgrade!
