Just finished watching Matt's video of the goodies he snagged from the Ritchie Bros auction. Sam and Matt, you guys are definitely the Dynamic Duo. Have a great weekend my friend👍
🤮
Same here. Just started this one.
Same here, I was just watching Desiel Creek also.👍😊
I just watched Matt's as well...Sam you and Matt always brighten my Saturdays ..you are quite a team.
Love those auction videos, Chris from letsdig done a good one a while back also.
Great that Clint from C&C Equipment bought it so quickly Sam.
Keep those Bucks rollin in .
You guys help eachother out in your own little Ecosystem of hydraulic fluid and bloody wrenches.
I love your content!! And good shout out to I C Weld. Watching Isaac work is like standing over the masters shoulder.
👍
I.C.Weldz is a master of his craft!!
Also excellent at explaining what he is doing and why.
Very humble human!
I came here from watching Matt with Diesel Creek and was not disappointed. Now I have two channels I love watching with my Sunday morning coffee!
Sam,
The thing to remember about TIG welding is that it requires the welded surfaces to basically be spotless clean. After you do the area prep/sanding you have to clean it with acetone. Don't use something like carb or brake cleaner because of the chemicals used in them - they can produce dangerous fumes when hit with the heat of the torch. You also need to wipe the welding rod down to remove any surface contamination that would lead to porosity.

You rock, Sam! Always upbeat and enthusiastic. Sharing your successes and mishaps. Leading the way on your videos and being a supportive and entertaining special guest on collaboration videos for others. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. 🥲
Sam love your content. I am a welder of all processes. But if in doubt and you are not sure hard to beat 6011 and 7018. Keep up the great work. Always fun when you and Matt collaborate..
Paul from Dorchester Ont.
This old Geezer always enjoys watching your videos. Keep up the good work Sammy.
Isn't having friends to network with great! AreaDiesel and C&C both stepping up. Good guys getting it done. Hope your Ritchie Brothers items work out for you.
Got a late start. Had to retro fit a refrigerator for my neighbor. Just finished watching Matt. I want to see Matt maxed out in that Genie! Love rainy days! Old bricklayer
I've been watching you, Matt, Clint, MBTS and Curtis from Australia, so I guess that makes me an expert on welding.
TIG is really touchy about small things. Like if the metal isn't as close to 100% clean as possible, no paint oil or rust. Another thing is unclean tungsten or filler rod. Or just the weld being able to suck air as you try to fill in a hole. Just lots of small things.
Clean filler rod is a MUST!
Good stuff Sam I watch Diesel creek and Clint over at cnc equip. All great channels
Sam you did excellent work fixing it!! Better that it is sold already!! Hope c&c make a video of it!! Amazing collaboration with Matt! Thanks for sharing
Definitely watch IC Weld, He is the Master! Great video Scrappy!
Literally blood, sweat, and tears to maintain these machines! Great tutorial on what you are doing and why.
His friend Matt from diesel creek is the same way explains down to the t of what he is doing as well you should go check him out as well
As I was watching the video I thought to myself "I wonder if Clint from C&C would be interested in it" and sure enough he bought it..😃😃
Totally agree re: IC Weld. Isaac is one talented craftsman.
How cool that you and Clint are doing business like this.
outstanding and awesome as always.thanks for sharing and taking us along
Thanks for the video Sam.... Johnny in Texas
The HD12.0 on the Milwaukee light had me dying 🤣 Good job on that cylinder rework!
Great video sam they r getting a good machine can’t wait to c more progress on the bay city & if anyone hasn’t seen C&C equipment should check em out on the CZcams’s lol
Thanks for the video Sam. Always nice to see. / Lille from Sweden
Hi Sam. Came over from DC who I’ve been watching for years. You’ve been helping him for a long time. You have excellent fab skills. So I’m along for the ride. Keep the good content coming. Thanks.
Speaking of IC Weld if you haven’t checked out his CZcams channel lately, do so. You won’t believe what he is involved with now. I can’t wait for part 2!
re pin replacement @ 40:00'ish ... my great uncle Thaddeus Malcolm always put rusty crusty pins in his lathe and polished then with emery cloth. I don't recall how he cleaned the shafts but it was probably a wire buffer in a drill. I remember asking if time taken to polish the made a difference and all he said was, "sometimes." He was a man of few words. 🙂 Good video!
Love the video Sam JD Exc .240 .
Fun video - from heavy duty repair to AC... Nice work. I think the second pin was started into the hole when Sam pulled out a 'persuader'. But maybe by releasing pressure from the fork lift it would have wiggled into place without so much effort. Just a thought. Still, this guy has skill.
Sam,you could’ve welded a couple of stops along side the piston to keep the thumb from getting too close especially when it starts to wear at the joints 😉
Nice work, Sam.
Hey, you know when you were installing the second pin, you found it difficult, right? Even though you used two hammers and a lot of huffing n puffing.
Well, guess what. You remember the holes you looked through using the light on your phone. They are for easy pin access. All you had to do was use a 2' rod of a smaller diameter. Line it up on the pin and hammer away. Pin removal is where they become really useful.
I'm just saying that from the outside looking in and one who has done many pin removals, I knew how best to get that pin in from the get-go.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, too, isn't it.😉⚒️🏴
Next time you have to get chips and oil out of a tube that you're just drilled on, get some cheese cloth. We use that at work, it'll grab the chips and doesn't let them go.
Reminds me of that old admonition to: "Measure twice, cut once!"
Great watch it looked and sounded awesome nice work Sam 👍👋🇨🇦
Thanks for the video, enjoyed watching, it seems to be all the little details that trip a guy up (referring to the ram), appreciate you taking us thru the repairs.
C.W. McCall, "Classified"!!!!
My favorite line is, "that's a long story, Harold".
Brilliant video Sam watching from Edinburgh Scotland UK 🇬🇧 👍
You have tons of good attitude needed to do things you had to do on this ram.
On Fire Welding and Snowball Engineering are also great big iron welding channels.
Cheers!
Great job, your abilities are exceptional ,thanks for sharing and stay safe.
Great job Sam tidy looking machine onwards and upwards buddy take care and have a good weekend 👍👌🐾🐾🦴🦴🔧🔧🔧❤️
Great fix up learned a lot in this show about air condition fun watching the welding moving the cylinder hydraulic line port
Enjoyed watching this episode. Keep em coming!
Kool video thanks Sam
Grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain’t!
New subscriber. Got here by 1.- Warren at Western Truck and Tractor repair , then 2.- Diesel Creek, then to you! Kindest regards, Bill 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Nice work, Sam 👍
hello Sam & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks Sam & Friends Randy
I SEE MATT IS DOING GOOD AS WELL . GOOD TO SEE YOU BOTH LOOKING OUT FOR EACH OTHER. NOW GET YOUR REAR END BACK TO WORK LAD 😊😊😊😊
The was a nice ending to a great video.
Great repair Sam great video thanks
Good content! Good seeing your channel grow too. 👍
Great job mate keep it up
Nice job Sam.
Those graydolls are nice we couldn’t have built half of the stuff around here without it.
Nice work on the thumb never seem to be afraid to have a go.
"Raise it Down..." - perfection!
Nice videos Sam. Cheers from OZ, Evan...
A man of many talents love the content.
Scrappy HVAC should get a micron gauge. 10 minutes of evacuation seems on the low side.
Thanks
Man do I miss PA!! Only in PA can ya say, ok now we're gonna raise it down and we all know what you mean 😂 it's like I'm back in childhood in Latrobe.
Jodie Collier from welding tip and tricks commented on a video of IC welding saying that he is the real deal . That is a pretty good endorsement I would say .
The old cylinder would make for one hell of a potato gun.🍻
That’s a great idea 😂😂
Great Video you got a beautifull toolbox 👍
So fast you letting it go already..😂😂❤
Long time subscriber to IC WELD. He is amazing.
I hope your floor drain changes go to a oil dump prior to going to ground or septic. I ran a mock that with shafting oil once DHEC not thrilled with oil discharge even on accident. Watch testing hydraulic repairs over the drains.
Enjoyed your show, like to see ya work on the1950 A30H or A40H Mack truck, because I used to own a unrestored 1950 Mack A30H single axel truck, that I don't have any more,it would be great to see your being work in progress, catch ya on the next one.
Good video. Enjoyed
Great stuff!
The vacuum lowers the atmosphere in the system allowing any water/moisture to boil off also removing any air in the process.
I love the obscure CW McCall references. I’m sure not many people understood why you said “peanut butter don’t agree with him see.”
Sam your the Man, when it comes to fixing big equipment, your the guy to have👍👍😎😎🍮🍮
Great job as usual
Super Troopers quote to top it off. Great video. Are you gonna set my country music award on fire?
Hey Sam how you doing? Just want to say I love your content and I learned about you through your buddy Matt. I watch your channels all the time. I'm no professional welder but I know that when your TIG welding when you're done performing the actual weld hold the TIG torch over the weld until it cools sometimes it needs the shielding gas to keep that air away from the weld pool. I guess another thing to check would to see that you had enough shielding gas in the tank and if so was it turned up enough? I know you know what you're doing these are just my thoughts. Keep up the good work appreciate your videos and your humor. Peace
Good deal sam easy come easy go every thing is for sale 😊
Just watched Matt and yer in Ritchie. Gday mate. From Christmas Island.
Well done Sam
Ya know somehow I knew Clinton would be involved somewhere along the line bro. Great video by the way. Safe travels. Ken.
Felt the pain on that clip , great filming Sam , catch you on the next episode 😅
With out blood the job isn't done right. When yo bleed you are putting your heart and soul into the job. So says the retired Aircraft Mechanic
I watch IC Weld myself, he is good, and I learned some cool stuff from him too.
Sam, there will be blood with proper maintenance of a vehicle. Also your sarcasm is much better than Matt's!!! Thanks for the great video
U are right Isaac is ggoooodddd! Greg out in CA is another really good welder/fabricator: his site is "On Fire welding". He's got more toys than is fair!!!!! LOL
I sure do envy you and your "vairable" speed hardware on your drill press. First guess on the porosity, oil leaching back.
It was interesting to hear some of that backwoods Pennsylvania "English"; "Raise it down"!!!!!
Get yourself out here in soybean country and we'll have a "hoedown"....
26:00 ooooo, look at the fancy new welding gloves.
You and Matt are starting to sound alike. Don't know who had the sayings and expressions first. 😅
Dude! Your pin installation efforts at the 40:00 minute mark, did you notice the two holes in the frame work whereby you could insert a rod through and strike it with your whammer?
IC weld is a true artist
I like that raise it down I thought us old southern boys said stuff like that
❤ a happy ending!
Should run a accuator Calibration then hook up the linkage.
Interesting to see that the vgt is not using full travel when rev'ed up with no load. Seems there is some thinking behind it :-)
I heard you say that!!!!! I'll raise that to lower it a bit! Hahaha!
Love watching your vids with a liter of cola
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼
With a job like this a only a few SNAFU's it's ok if ya can fix them relatively easy.
Definitely was entertaining to watch.
I mean... Couldn't you have like, flipped the cylinder the other way around to get the line out of the way? Or are the pin holes different sizes (or is there some other reason forcing it to be one way only? Hydraulics dripping out if its upside down?).
Oh, that's why. It all made sense the moment you installed that cylinder :p didn't think of that!
In any way great content!
Porosity comes from tig welding while standing!!!!!
