I am 64 years old, drove my first two stick when I was 16, had my CDL 1 at 17, drove both B model Mack's and RM internationals, clutching was seldom used.

Nice work. Putting the bore in an oven up to temp that wouldn't damage the seals would have been an interesting idea. Not sure if it would work though.

Kinda cool to see these still being cared for! As a kid growing up in Green Bay Wisconsin we would go past the Northwest Engineering Company and see these in various stages of development.

Used to work on these, worth changing the axle oils, if they’re higher than the fill plug before draining it’s a good indication the brake pistons o-ring seals are bypassing hydraulic oil into the axle housing. There are also brake wear indicator pins on each final drive to check for excessive brake disc wear during a service.

@7:26 man that is two absolutely beautiful trucks. I have legitimately ZERO use for a truck like that, but damn I'd love to have your Mack Sam. The only truck I love more is the KWhopper-100 cab over. Maybe one day I'll "grow up" and find an excuse to buy one. I'm just a big kid and incredibly jelly of the toys you and Matt get to play with every day. This stuff is just so dang cool!
