  • In this video we'll be taking a material from Poliigon.com, bringing it into Cinema 4D using our material converter and then rendering it out with Redshift.

The new Cinema4D Plugin tool doesn't work with Octane in Cinema4D and the old Poliigon Material Converter doesn't work. All 86 textures I have from Polligon no longer work and unless I somehow understand the magic of how materials work within Octane I'll need to switch to another texture service.

how do you make it work with r21, as there is no pluggin folder only extensions

Is weird, in every redshift course I have been in, they always tell you to invert gloss and Reflection textures, but I always get the opposite result when doing that. Why is that?

Redshift uses roughness maps (black = no roughness / white = full rough) so they you dont have to invert. Only invert glossy maps. You can go to advance tab in your shader and click on "convert glossyness to roughness" or use a scalar invert node. And the best to set your level of roughness is by using a ramp node.

wait, you paused the video, fixed the overexposed reflection and didn't show us how :/

change your hdri or adjust its exposure settings
