Love it. But just a tip, medieval knights did not have rust on their armor, or dirty clothes. They typically took a lot of pride in their appearance and especially their armor.
To be fair, not everyone who had armor was a knight. That being said, men-at-arms and infantrymen who owned their own equipment would normally take care of it, and soldiers issued armor were often required to look after it in order to actually get paid.
Yes, they basically would find a nice clean spot to stand like a living statue and only walk on roads. They were also known to avoid everything that could possible make their cloths dirty on the battlefield. And when stains could not be removed, they had many spare items in the closet.

Wow this is INCREDIBLE. Would you consider doing a tutorial on your process for texturing the armour? Yours looks outstanding and I have been unable to get satisfactory results on armor plates so far. Every tutorial I've seen that has satisfying results requires a Substance Painter Subscription SMH Also the chainmail and cloth sim trick was genius. Truly amazing work

I saw the thumbnail and it made me so curious. I absolutely cannot believe the amount of work that you put into this amazing outcome. Your talent is really inspirational (footnote, I spent all day yesterday trying to create a bascinet helmet and couldnt so I gave up. I will try again tomorrow.)
This is a lot of work, but I'm kind of surprised medieval or medieval/fantasy isn't more of a thing with blender artists, with the full helmet and everything you can get away with not having to do facial animations among other things, this scene came out really well, with refinement you could get it on par with major studios easily.
Mad respect for creating this ! This might inspire other people to create something of their own, looking at what can be done wit blender and taking inspiration from this.
No idea how I got here, never used Blender in my life. I do however work quite a bit with Unreal Engine so I can at least relate to some of the stuff I suppose. Learned a lot of nifty tricks to be sure. Either way, very impressive work man. Creating that stuff from scratch blows my mind. Keep it up!

I kept waiting for the "so I just went and bought X and used Y addon :^)" but no, actually did the work. What a king! The only crit I can think of is the anims look a bit robotic, too linear, but someone would really have to be looking for it bc the color grading and material work is going a long way to make it believable.

The camera shake really helps! I use auto keyframing and fly around the scene with the camera so I get real-time control. Cheers!
