Something really overlooked is the physicality that Zombie gave his version of Micheal. Myers in the original is something almost supernatural, where as in Zombie’s films he is savage murderer. OG Micheal appears out of nowhere while this one literally walks into frame casually sometimes before killing someone. I really like the we have both versions.

Absolutely agree! The Halloween 2018/Kills Michael kinda blends the two, a savage unkillable beast that can pop in and out if anyone’s looking. I love the savagery of this Michael, that hospital dream scene in H2 is one of my favorite moments in the whole franchise

I think the reason that Rob Zombie had the dialogue that intense, was to show the actual breakdown of the family that Michael was dealing with….to familiarize the audience with disfunction and misery… my opinion…

I remember going to see this movie at 12 years old with my dad, who spent basically the entire runtime with his hand in front of my face. On the way home the only words exchanged were "If your mom asks, we went and saw *Halloween Town*."

The best part of this reboot was making Michael a giant. It makes him more threatening, gives logic for why he doesn’t go down as easy, and gives him that monster strength.

I get why people didn’t like the remake…it completely shattered his “unreasonably evil” thing, but I honestly prefer this one…you can see the hate behind his eyes, and it feels like he genuinely has some form of compassion for his little sister as he not only takes his mask off, but tries to tell her he’s her brother. Also…I was so sad about Danny trejo’s character dying…I was so hoping he’d spare him for some reason
and due to the fact that this michael is a bit more relatable (for michael anyway), You can really "feel" just how hard his hits are, and just how powerful this towering pillar of muscle really is

he wasn't born evil in the original, it depends on what timeline you look at, in the 2018 trilogy, yes, he was pure evil, but in the H20 and original trilogy he was possesed by a demon.
I think you should have given credit to Joe Grizzley. He’s the only person in the entire series that stood right in Michaels face and punched it. If he wouldn’t have pulled the knife I would have guessed the fight would have lasted much longer.

I like that they gave a reason for Michael to hunt down Laurie specifically.
That's the exact reason most people DON'T like it. Myers isn't supposed to have a reason, he's the physical embodiment of pure evil, he's a force of nature, he doesn't NEED motivation to kill, he just does things. Giving him an origin kind of ruins the whole mysterious feel to the character. The whole sister thing kinda worked in the original Halloween II, but Myers is still at his best in the original.

From what I was told the reason he was hunting Laurie specifically is because he saw her with the little boy she was babysitting and it reminded him of himself and his sister

I've always had a soft spot for this movie. Rob Zombie's interpretation of Michael Myers is so imposing and primal. Even as a child, the scene where he beats the bully to death with the tree branch is kinda unsettling in how raw and violent it is. The kill in the bathroom is the same way, it's so feral and vicious. This Michael Myers is never "evil just because of supernatural forces," he's evil because he's mentally disturbed, had a bad upbringing, and even after getting committed, he never had anyone that would help him. Just Dr. Loomis trying to make his fortune and a name for himself. This Michael Myers is ALMOST someone to be pitied rather than cartoonishly demonic. He's a man, who was once a boy, neither of which ever had a fair chance at a decent life.

Tyler Mane who played adult Michael Myers is terrifying. He's also 6'8 which makes him and Michael Myers even more terrifying and was a professional wrestler.

Honestly I like his first kill in this timeline a lot more than the other ones. It gives his character more substance instead of him killing his sister in an act that had no emotion behind it at all. Also this version of Michael is the best thing to come out of this remake, like my boi a fucking unit in this movie

I gotta disagree with you there Micheal’s first kill in the og is so much better because it’s a kid emotionlessly killing his sister just for the sport of it and once again I disagree with the supersized build of Micheal it makes him feel more like Jason and less of just a normal human which is what made him so imposing him just being a normal 178 cm man weighing in at 74 kilos achieves what the unmasking of Jason in every movie goes for it achieves what the several scenes of leather face panicking and freaking out Micheal looking like a bang average man despite his uncanny mannerisms and abilities is where his fear factor comes from

This movie was absolutely amazing, because it's definitely a true adaptation of someone who's sick being pushed over the edge.
the blooper reel for this film made me appreciate the movie even more. this cast was fantastic together.
I liked the brutal 6’9” MM. He’s a giant psychopath with no grace or training. Just a blunt force of evil. I think it makes him more menacing.
I only thing I hate is that they made him some hillbilly like Michael Myers throughout history has never been a long haired hillbilly , in my opinion the current Michael Myers remake is much more terrifying he’s just more eerie and cunning. But I love the fact that RZ’s Michael was 6’9 300 Ibs all muscle though.

This Michael Myers has been giving me nightmares for years. Like every other day. He is the scariest one by far. Tall, Strong, Muscular.
I remember watching the video where James interviewed all the Michael Myers actors on their personal favorite kills. My favorite has to be Joe Grizzly because they were two titan sized men duking it out. Joe was 6'5 and Michael was 6'8 and it was awesome to watch. Also because it was fun to see someone actually be a match for Michael for a change. It looked like Michael had to give it everything he had just to take Grizzly down!!!

The size and complete intensity of this Michael is truly my favorite. I also love the origin story and that they really developed his psychopathy. The child Michael was terrifying and did an amazing job

With the nostalgia blinders off, I think this is the best of the entire series. There are people with similar childhoods that are real life Michael Myers minus the mask and superhuman strength. Terrifying

I enjoyed the Zombie remakes, because they're not supernatural; they're realistic and takes a deep dive into mental health and expands on Michael's background. He did a great job with Halloween, minus the rape scene; it went on longr than it should have. I would've just had the 2 be drunk and break in to his room messing with his shit which leads to him killing them BUT the theatrical escape was better..
A cut of both combined with the best scenes would honestly be a fan-fucking-tastic Halloween film.

They missed a perfect opportunity to have Michael's last words be "Boo". Referring to Strodes childhood nickname and the classic halloween jump scare little kids attempt to use. It would also mean a lot since it would be Michael's first words in fifteen years

I think one of the most disturbing parts of this movie is after he kills the bully in the beginning, at home he acts completely normal like he didn’t kill another human being just hours ago. (Obviously before he slaughtered most of his family)

Honestly I like how in this one you actually see Michael become the embodiment of evil. Like theres moments when it slips then hes a normal kid again and then over time the emotionless killing machine takes over. Its more interesting imo

Honestly this movie is just a stereotype of generic real life serial killers. What makes the original so phenomenal is that Michael was a normal kid then randomly killed his sister. But in this movie he has a shitty childhood and gets bullied. You can see Michael start killing motherfucka a mile away. This movie would’ve been good if it was a normal family then Michael just snapped and killed his sister and things.
