Absolutely. Once Pleasance unfortunately passed away the series just didn't feel the same anymore, and the less said about McDowell's take on the character in the white trash RZ films the better.

I couldn’t agree more. I respect that Rob Zombie made his films different but they didn’t work for me. I didn’t like the generic backstory for Michael, loomis was a huge dick & Michael didn’t need to be 7 foot tall imo.

Poor Dr. LOOMIS, mental health doctors rationalize everything. Think of other movies. Terminator and Exorcist. They even did it successfully despite being wrong. Loomis was right but nobody believed him. On top of that he saw impossible things like shooting him and blowing him up. By film 4/5 anyone would have lost it like him😂
He seems to start going a little crazy in the second one and just gets worse as it goes on in each movie. I prefer him in the first film, he's never the same again after that.

I think that's why him going rather bonkerooni as the series progressed was symbolic of michael's evil in a subtle way. I think him going insane the way he did gave us the subtle impress that michael is purely and simply evil, and very much not a human being, and that there are no answers and there is no feeling safe.

My favorite line of his came in H2 when he was standing outside the Myers house talking to Deputy Hunt and nonchalantly says: ‘An hour ago I fired 6 shots into him and he just got up and walked away!’
I don’t know why that one line sticks out to me but I think it’s because you can hear how defeated Loomis feels in that moment like ‘I don’t know what else to do with this man, I can’t stop him, nobody can stop him, nothing can stop him!’
Loomis hypes Michael up so much. His delivery on his lines makes you think Michael is an unstoppable force of evil.
His H4 quotes are the most memorable for me.

Certainly in the top 3 was the first scene from Halloween 2. When the guy comes out on his porch and says " what's going on out here, I was trick or treated to death". Loomis says, " Death ? You don't know what death is ". Personally my favorite ever.

He's still out there. My dad woukd use to say that to me and i was so scared as a kid. Loomis made myers more terrifying. Expecially when he shot him off the balcony he knew he would be gone .

My favorite of the Halloween series.
I love the fact that Loomis had no problem shooting a gun around law enforcement, and scaring the crap out of some kids. He can even bring some good into the bad films of this franchise.
That’s one of my favorite things about loomis he would cause chaos if it meant stopping Michael.
I completely agree he made some of the lesser films bare able to watch.

It was a production mistake, someone grabbed the wrong mask when filming at like 4am and everyone was too tired to notice. At least that’s what they say in the documentary about part IV.
What’s clear is that as the series continued, Loomis dialogue became more frequent and ridiculous. The true fart talk began in H2 when he proclaimed Samhain was the unconscious mind. I felt feelings of embarrassment and shame while watching that scene and my sphincter puckered.
By H6, he was essentially farting nonsense out of his mouth and hobbling around like a buffoon.
I really FEEL you trying your best to sound smart and clever, but you just come off like every other letterbox snob who loves the smell of his own farts.
Dr. Loomis fucking rules. A handful of cherry picked lines does not at all represent how interesting and memorable of a character he is. Some of his most quality stuff is in 4,5,6, and even in later films not featuring Donald Pleasance.
And if you disagree and think the first movie is the only pure representation of this character, then why are you watching a video celebrating him? 🎉😮
