It happens all the time my husbands lawyer didn't show up until an hour before trial and told him to sign something without going over it and at 17 he signed a plea deal that has since ruined his life for a crime he did not commit...some lawyers are just terrible to their clients.

My exact thoughts, that came to me right away. You know they didn't care who did this just as long as they can get someone and put them away for it. The crime here is the Justice system in Alabama.

As a special ed teacher, it terrifies me that one of my students may get into trouble one day and if no one is there to tell them what is going on and help them with things, what is going to happen? Will the police wait and give them time to process questions before they answer? Will they be able to explain themselves in a way that is clear and understandable? Will they understand what they did that got them into trouble enough to not do that again? I wish law enforcement as well as lawyers (and everyone else on the planet) could have at least some kind of training on how to work with people with disabilities. It is so important

I don’t think ANYONE belongs on death row without physical proof that ties them to a crime. Life in prison at least gives room for preserving his life if they ever find physical evidence to link him or someone else someday.
Cailin completely agree. There needs to be 100% proof of them being there, doing the crime and evidence that they are a complete danger to themselves and society. That’s what I think anyway.

c a r a what about the ones where the crime doesn’t fit the punishment. You’re speaking on something you don’t even know about. There’s not even a way to determine the numbers of how many are on death row unjustly because the system sees them and guilty and will report them as so. Despite evidence and more saying they’re not guilty. Also why so quick to give the death penalty to so many black people while a lot of the stories Bailey talks about revolves around white people who don’t get the death penalty.
