- This is an Incredible experience to get so close to Jamaica's national bird! The Doctor Bird and Jamaican Mango Hummingbird are two species that only exist on this beautiful island. Please turn your sound UP! We watch and feed both male and female Red Billed Streamertails (doctor), Jamaican Mango, as well as see Bananaquit, Orangequit, ground doves and finches. One time my parents had me watch their house when they went on vacation, and I put a shot of vodka into the hummingbird feeder when I was filling it up, they clearly liked it, but they got kinda aggressive. Apparently they do in fact drink fermented juice in nature, which can give them a buzz, so they're not new to partying.

I really like how both you and Fritz spoke in low, calm voices. I imagine it's so as to not spook the birds away but it also allows us to hear those wonderful chirps and wing flaps. Fritz is super knowledgeable. Awesome video!

Years ago I did a painting of a hummingbird feeding from an orchid which grew from a paper bag...nice reminder. Those birds are quite exquisite.

These birds must always have someone care for them or it may hurt them and they could parish for they come there for the trust and love theyve been bestowed upon..intriguing they can even fly backwards..

Hummingbirds are awesome. I picked one up out the rain one time and it just chilled on my hand until it was warm and dry and then fly around me a little before going back to it's homestead.

Those birds are so awsome 😄, they need to feed every 10-15min to survive and they eat about half their bodyweight every day, in nature they feed from like 1000-2000 flowers every day.
Their muscels have to be the hardest and most used ones in nature, those birds are so cool 😄

Hummingbirds are awesome! If you set up a feeder you can set really still under the feeder & they will come up & drink. You can hear them & feel the wind coming from them. It's awesome..

idk if this is the same place but at ten years old in 2002 I got to feed the doctor birds at the humming bird ladies house. the drive up the hill was awful but the birds are something ill never forget

Love it! We only have Ruby Throats. They are skitish and i didn't know they bathed until i built this badass bath for them. Plus the weather was so cool in spring in Tennessee that there are hardly any bugs around so instead of 18 birds on 8 feeders....i have one juvenile male waiting for a girlfriend. Hopefully they show up for the second brood
