  • When his partner got him a hummingbird feeder as a birthday present, this guy was determined to make friends with a hummingbird. Having recently lost his cousin, he had heard there was a spiritual connection to hummingbirds coming to visit you. Eventually, Hector the hummingbird showed up at his window.

    Soulmates come in different sizes and shapes. They will always find you. When I lost my cousin in a car crash in 2000, I found Kasek, my German Shepherd. When he passed in 2012, my son was born 4 months later. Keep them close. Love the video.

    How lovely. When I was a boy I rescued a bird who had fallen from his/her nest. I 'kept' him in our aviary until he was well. He didn't want to leave me, and would fly through the window into my bedroom and sit on the end on the bed. He would also sit on my shoulder and arm in the garden. One day he flew away and never came back. I hoped he was happy and prayed he was well. True story.

    Hummingbirds are delightful little creatures. They are so entertaining. It is such a joy to watch them frolic and breathtaking to hand feed them. I am grateful to have a shimmering of hummers visit my yard everyday to feed from the feeders and flowers in the garden I have.
    Strategically, I placed one feeder in direct view of my bedroom window. It is the most popular feeder on the property with no less than nine hummingbirds competing for the nectar through each day. I refill that four flower, 10 0z. feeder on average three times daily. The birds are so used to me they will hum about my head and will feed from the feeder as I hold it in my hands. When I do this usually five hummingbirds will perch on my hands as the others birds wait their turn. It’s magical beyond words. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

What's so sad is how easy it is to refrain from taking it yet how horribly pigs are treated on factory farms and how terrified they become of people as a result, these are the same animals which will become so kind and friendly to you if you do the one very simple thing of not harming them. It's therefore very easy to not make pigs frightened of you and to make them love you, just don't harm them. I wish people would extend their love for animals to mean all animals, not just the ones they don't eat. Every animal deserves our love, respect and protection, we don't need to harm or kill any of them.

    • @HunterBelkiran
      @HunterBelkiran Před 3 lety

      @Johnny Silverman But pigs, cows, and chickens won't rip you to shreds. Also, I'd add that love and respect doesn't always have to mean cuddling up to an animal. Perhaps it could mean that we allow other creatures the space to live their own lives, without human interference. Obviously, domesticated animals like pigs, cows and chickens would have to live their lives out on sanctuaries created by humans, but it's better than a short, miserable existence in a factory farm.

    So basically Hector gets the equivalent of DoorDash delivery every day. He's got it made. We've never tried hand feeding but we have several feeders and about 6 birds living here and growing. They're very comfortable around us now.
    We put a bird bath underneath the feeder, it didn't get much action until we added tall lattice and vine plants on each side so the predatory birds can't get the little birds and now there is constant activity. The hummingbirds even started using the bird bath too. We didn't even know they drank water until we saw them. A grey squirrel even started climbing up and drinking from the bird bath every day too. Super fun watching the busy little world going on right in your backyard, you just have to stop and look. 👍👌✌

      Well, statistically speaking, you are wrong. I mean yeah even a cockroach can be your pet and love you, but how many will you feed, and take care of, but still will just go away? It's really rare what did happen to that man and it feels so special just because of that. Feed and pet a cat,dog,horse,pig,goat,sheep etc, and you will make a friend 90% in less than a week. Feed anything else for months and there is a small chance to succeed. Those animals are used to live with people around them. It's way easier to win their trust. With anything else, you still have a chance, but it's harder and it may never happen.
