  • Whether you want to go "dirt-nasty" low or upgrade your suspension, coilovers are a great way to give your Cruze some adjustability. In this video, Tyler shows how to install our ZZP coilovers on a gen 1 (2011-2016) Chevy Cruze.

    Wish this video/option was around when I installed coilovers. Would’ve helped so much back then. Live and learn. Most definitely upgrading to these when I have the money

    Just installed coilovers on my chevy sonic after watching this video like 10 times. Everything installed smooth as can be. I drove about 50 miles and i believe they are settled enough for alignment. i am going tomorrow to get it align.
    Great video. Very helpful.

    Good to know you have these for the cruze. I like the way this car is styled. I was working at the dealership when they debut in like 2008ish. Dream car was a grey cruze manual with the RS package. They look sick lowered.

    important thing to mention is dont try to turn the knuckle bolts, only loosen the nut and hammer them out. those splined bolts do NOT like to turn lol

    Nice video! I have 'another' brand on my Cruze atm and they are horrible. No dampening adjustments at all. I'll be getting a set of these when I have the cash. Thanks! 🖖

    May I suggest adding safety wire holes to the Nuts and rods of the adjustable sway bar links. I bought a set for another application and while I do admit I have them at their limit the jam nuts have come loose a few times now causing clunking similar to how an old set of sway bar links sound. Otherwise they are awesome.

    So. You didn't have to tighten the endlinks under load? Adjustable endlinks could be included differently from the regular, unadjustable endlinks. You didn't elaborate.

    Is there anyway to bulletproof the 1.4?
    I have 198k on a 13 Cruze
    Always running 91/93 octane
    Always changing the oil at 50% oil life
    Always changing the transmission every 5 oil changes.
    Replaced:
    -timing chain/guides/seals
    -water pump
    -valve cover
    -fuel return solenoid
    -throttle body
    -turbo oil feed/return
    -turbo coolant feed/return
    -coolant reservoir
    -oil cooler seals
    This lil thing is way too much maintenance.
    I had a Honda 1.6L that ran forever.
    Am I doing something wrong?🤣
    Love the car like a crazy ex girlfriend.
    Thanks to ZZP for giving these a chance.

      We recommend replacing the plastic cooling components where you can. Our aluminum water outlet is a good start. Next would be servicing/fixing the PCV system. We sell a PCV fix kit just for that. The 1.4 rotating assembly is very stout, and we are making near 300whp on a 1.4 Sonic with a stock block. Unfortunately GM strapped a lot of flawed parts to the 1.4, which is where it gets its bad rap.

    On the rear spring load do you lock then rings in the way they where when you set the pre load or do you run the bottom one down?

    • @ZZPerformanceChannel
      @ZZPerformanceChannel  Před rokem

      You will want to lock the rings together once ride height and preload are finalized.

    Could you use this to also lift it a bit? I unfortunately take more back roads than highway. Would like to be able to clear small road kiII with out swerving. If so I'll be more than happy to do this on the weekend to my car

    • @ZZPerformanceChannel
      @ZZPerformanceChannel  Před rokem

      You likely could raise the car over stock height, however all of our Coilover kits are intended to lower the vehicle.

    Do you have to trim the bump stops?

    • @ZZPerformanceChannel
      @ZZPerformanceChannel  Před 10 měsíci

      No trimming of bump stops necessary. You will want to remove OEM bump stops as the coilovers have them on the dampers.
