The dealer put the Dometic cooler backwards on the Intech. The table on the front makes it a L-shape cooking area.
Micro mini for me. I like that one. Plenty of storage under the bed. Nice couch and plenty of room to move around with a dry bathroom.
Hey Jeremy,
Great choice!

Also I think those toy hauler ramps could double as patios with some mods. Patio with rails (as some rvs have) would be great for the dogs!! 🐶🐕🦮🐩🐕🦺🐾🦴

Great idea!!!! Thanks for sharing!

Those kitchen takes way too much space. Cooking outside is so easy in both summer and winter, in the rain or snow under the awning, use disposable plate instead of big kitchen sink. For a camper trailer, I think the most important things are first sleeping area and dinette sleeps two people, second toilet and shower, third fridge, sink then stove. You can always find some space for storage somewhere.

I think the Nucamp 400 is the best here. I live about a half an hour from where they are made in Sugarcreek ohio, and took a tour of the factory last year. But, I ordered a Geo Pro 19 foot FBS about three months ago, and just found out that I might get it early next year? Crazy. Good informative video here.
Hi Tall Dude,
The Geo Pros are very popular!
Hope you get your delivered soon! It is crazy how many RVs are being sold right now!

Enjoyed your video. I have an off-road TT. Forest River Flagstaff E-Pro. New to RVing so I haven’t tried it boondocking yet. Still learning the ropes. However that is my future plan. Hopefully sooner than later. Thanks for your posts. Look forward to the next one.
Hi Tina,
Thanks! And just try boondocking a little at a time. Start with a weekend then try a week and then two weeks. Let us know how you make out!

I didn't care for the first couple ones, only because they were for hauling toys and the kitchen was outside. The rest of the campers were nice as I like the separate beds & dinettes with kitchen & baths. *Thank you, Thank you* for giving the prices that is really a big plus on your part. I don't know why others hide the price so you have to call? They say the price would not be accurate, but I know if I get a ballpark figure that the wouldn't be the final price and it depends on different amenities that you purchase. Thank you much for sharing 🥰🌳👫🏡🚐🌷🌻🌼🌞
Hi Youkie,
Glad you liked the video! Just remember - never pay sticker price!

Let's be honest folks. These are not off road trailers. They're just raised trailers with off road tires and common torsion axels. The rubber innards of the axle will fail over time and the more you take those gravel bumpy access roads to camp the faster they will fail. In forums you will find the cabin is bolted to the trailer frame and those shift and loosen too.... Resulting in a cabin shifting off its placement. With that said, they look awesome and if you keep it on the roads and an occasional bumpy gravel road....you're good!
Hey wkw,
We appreciate the insight!

I WAS liking the Hike right up to the shower. Deal-breaker even at 1/2 the show price. And that last trailer, WET bath at THAT price?!?!?! GeoPro for the win. I'm also 5'11". But I do remove my shoes for a shower 😁
Hey Eugene,
Great points!

I don’t feel like any of these are true off-road, but the NuCamp is the best of the bunch in my opinion! Love the styling and quality of their cabinetry and fixtures. I would like to see them add a cassette toilet, and residential type faucet/sink in the galley though like they did in the 320! Thanks for the great walkthrough of all of the campers. You covered a lot in 17 min! 👍👍

RVBlogger you definitely have some good ones in you blog post! Opus is a stand-out for ingenuity! I wish more of the excellent Australian manufacturers would send their campers here. Patriot is another one if you are looking at true off-road trailers with rooftop tent.
That first trailer reminds me of both the hiker and runaway trailers after modifications. Minnie Winnie based on the north south bed. That east west bed layout would drive me nuts with no walk around.
Hi cdLady,
So true!

Hello and thank you both for the video. I like the small toy hauler with the kitchen and bath inside; it seems like it would be good for someone with just a bike and kayak...possibly easier than rack systems. I think the shower in the hike is absurd and I believe, based on a comment from another review, that if the slide is in everything but the bath is inaccessible. Again, thank you! I am looking to purchase my first trailer and your videos are much appreciated.

you forget to comment on the most important feature of the off road trailer
the suspension!
Hi David,
That's true. Our Videos are just a brief overview and then if folks want more info they have to investigate each model on their own. Otherwise our videos would be too long and maybe boring for the vast majority of viewers.
However, I really appreciate the feedback. If we get a bunch of similar comments then we will know to include that info in future videos.

Friendly suggestion....when reviewing, you should always mention interior height in places other than just the shower. For example, you point out that an ATV can fit in the inTech, yet don't mention that anyone taller than 5'6" can't even stand up straight inside of it.
Hi Stickbow Sniper,
That is a very good suggestion and I'll try to do that. Thanks for mentioning it in such a friendly way too!

I agree! Thank you for watching and commenting.
Excellent informative video! 1 small comment, would be nice to have a text in the bottom of each video clip the name of the trailer and how many feet long. Just a small caption maybe on each video. So forgetful people like me keep rewinding to each of the start which one is which 😁. Excellent video, direct to the point and concise that’s the way I like them. Thank you for making it. And those yeah, thank you for including the prices that is a big help!

In terms of off road travel trailers, it would be nice to include the Black series.
Hi promise Keeper,
Tell me about the black series...what do you like and why? We might make a video about it...
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Mike
@@RVBlogger Ok, I have actually put a down payment on a Black Series HQ19 which I take delivery of in July 2020. Why I purchased it:
1) Capability, it has over 20" of ground clearance with fully independent suspension.
2) Construction is solid and is meant for off roading so things are not as likely to fall apart.
3) Galvanized steel frame and all aluminum composite construction.
4) Fully articulating hitch.
5) Comes with 300 watts of solar and 400 Amp hour Gel battery bank. I am upgrading to 500 watts and an MPPT solar charge controller.
6) Off road tires.
7) For a 20" box, it is very well appointed.
8) Separate house water vs. drinking water tank, which allows you when traveling in Mexico, Central America or South America to fill the general water tank from available sources while not contaminating your 16 gallon drinking water tank.
They are pretty awesome! Thanks for getting back to me. I appreciate the intel. Hopefully we will see one soon!
Winnebago Minnie is the best for me.

I worry about Bears and cougars in a pop out. But there is a ton of room.
Hi Jim,
Me too! In fact - you can't even use a popup in campgrounds in bear country.

Funny... most of Canada is bear country and we still use tents.
It's the Salty Crocs you need to be worried about!
Is the Winnebago Micro Minnie hooked up for solar? And lithium batteries?
Hey Mark,
It may be better to look for that info on the manufacturer's website.

Hi. So good to watch your video and dream about taking our camper out. I miss it soo much! Don't know if we will be able to come up with an alternative plan for our May camping as all the campgrounds are shut down still.
I imagined our daughter liking the small toy haulers with the outdoor kitchens. She is a tent camper and only 25. Someday I think she will be wanting to move up to a small easy to tow camping trailer. Our son-in-law likes to hike but is not really into camping. When you get a hard roof, refrigerator, and sound system, it's a lot more appealing ;). They also currently have 2 largish dogs. The open floor plan is great for adapting to anyone's needs and bringing any kind of gear or big furry critters. Can you say what size that pop-up bed is? Also wondering what that box on the wall was on the No-Bo camper. It looked like it was accessible from outside but protruded on the interior side.
The Winnebago Hike was a disappointment IMHO. Why not put the dinette in the slide and keep the kitchen stationary and looking into your campsite? The shower was unusable unless you are a young child. No one wants to have a wet curtain touching you all over and the water would most likely go everywhere. They may have been able to have a bigger shower pan if the medicine cabinet and vanity were shrunk down. They were larger than necessary.
Thank you for giving us new stuff to think about while we take our adventures from our desktops.
Hi Amy,
All good observations! And more and more campgrounds are slowly opening so get on out there and enjoy it!

Any suggestions for an Offroad travel trailers that would fit 5 or 6 people?
Hi Carlos,
I don't have any suggestions for that. The bigger and heavier a trailer the less likely it is to perform well off road.

What do you think about the Black Series Trailers?
Great Question!
I think they are awesome and if there was one at the RV Show where we made this video it would have been in the lineup for sure.
Vinyl walls in wind are noisy. The whole point is to have hard sides for sound & weather insulation in my humble opinion.
Hi Justin,
That's a really great point!

Mike and Susan
I am a total vehicular ignoramus but I was wondering why nobody seems to covert well known trailers (airstream or the big fiberglass names) to be more overland-esque . For primarily dirt roads and boondocking / off grid life. Jacking them up and beefing up suspension … all that jazz. I assume it’s completely impractical and that’s why no one does it but I figured I’d ask. Because it seems these new off road trailers have a lot of issues just th regular RV stuff not working right - like black series. Lots of CZcams’s on misadventures with those trailers. I think they are just so new they haven’t had time to work out the kinks like airstream etc. For example I’d really love to have the Oliver II or big foot but be able to take it where you would a truck camper or maybe even a black series.
All great points! Black Series is very new and probably still has kinks to work out. To be off road definitely requires a lot of structural reinforcement! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Prices have sky rocketed! T@b 400 is > $40k! There are exactly 0 at $32k "showroom price".

Yup prices have gone up quite a bit!

Really curious how the forrest river would hold off if it actually goes off road...
Hi Frank,
I think you would have to drive smart and slow and it would be fine. It certainly can't take the beating that a Black Series would.

The 2020/2021 Forest River r-pod 195 or 196 are also good choices, and either of them are available in an off road package, as well. Both of these units are 22'-2" in length, and under 4,000 lbs. However, Forest River does offer several other smaller r-pod models, which include Murphy beds, central vacuum systems, and a whole list of many other great options. Check out the new r-pod 202, it's their first dual axle model and it is quite unique! czcams.com/video/X9P8j1i_4fo/video.html

Anything with a live axel is not a off road rv 6:19
Hi John,
There are several benefits to a live axle setup. One of its greatest is its capacity for ground clearance. Because of the simplicity of the axle’s construction, it allows plenty of room for wheel travel.
Besides that, solid axles are both easy to repair and upgrade. Their simple construction gives plenty of room to replace and modify parts.
There are honestly more issues with on-road driving and solid axles than there are off-road. Solid axles can handle a bit rougher and lead to unexpected steering bumps. All in all, IFS setups have better handling qualities.
The Nobo 10.6 actually has an option for the Curt Beastmode Independent Suspension for enhanced off road capabilities.
Thanks for your comment but we really don't get into this level of detail in our reviews. We just show how we would live in the trailer if it was ours and what we like and don't like about the livability of each unit. Then if someone sees a unit they are interested in they can proceed with researching on their own.
Thanks very much for watching and commenting!
Mike
Every single one was junk... Off road and they will break down.. These companies better go to Australia and see real off road campers.
