i thought u were talking about acdc at first, i’m on day three, i learned a handful of scales, a nirvana riff, star shopping, and currently working on iron man by black sabbath
I really enjoy people showing their honest progress, instead of faking to be a beginner just for the sake of a new youtube video. Keep up the practise and good work ;)
Nice progression and i loved the hair cut btw not a lot of girls have the confidence to just cut all there hair and record their selves huge props to you and you motivated me to learn guitar thank you❤️
Very Sinead O'Connor at first then reminded me of Dolores O'Riordan. I could never have the confidence to do that but she suits it. Also the amount of times my hair has fallen over onto the strings when I'm playing is insane so I imagine it's a lot easier than having to tie it up whenever you want to practice 😅
@@Swimmeron let me guess a misogynistic incel who expects women to keep their hair long because he prefers feminine women? Good thing you are not the authority on beauty you little worm. I personally think she looks much better with short hair, and no it isn't just a compliment
I suggest you be more patient when learning intermediate fingerstyle songs like River Flows In You. My advice is, you break the song into very small pieces and get down the first piece to its fullest to go to next one that's because I noticed you're too eager to get on to the next line so you mess up the rythme of the song! Hope this helps :)
Play using a metronome with a bpm half as slow as the song as well. Play until you can do it multiple times with no mistake then increase the bpm by 5. Do this repeatedly until you play at the song's original bpm.
I love it and congrats on your progress! I'm currently learning by myself too (River Flows In You is on my list of song I absolutely must learn someday) ♥
you gave me a really good motivation I suck at literally everything I was demotivated watching other youtubers make videos of them learning so fast in a year but you made and honest video and did not become guitar god in a year !
Okay, I've definitely not been putting in enough effort. I've been playing for a year, took lessons for six months then stopped them for a bit when I was going through a very stressful time in my relationship them ultimately breaking up with him. Now that's finally all put to bed I've arranged for my lessons to start again from next week. I've still been playing but not really doing anything new, just playing songs I already know or looking up tutorials and if i can play the chords I'll play the song. I wasn't practicing my barre chords or any changes that I found difficult like getting to a Dm in time. This year I'm ready to put my all in and start learning to finger pick a little bit too. I'm pretty sure I've got the mini version of that exact guitar, looks like a Taylor GS, but mine is mahogany, although it's hard to tell coz mine looked really light in the photo so yours could be the same but I know it comes in rosewood (I think) too. Lovely guitar. I love mine, so light and portable but still loud and rich sounding. I do have a full sized guitar, I learned to play nearly everything on it but I find barre chords easier on my 3/4 sized Taylor
rest your pinky under the sound hole, you should force your pinky down there now before it becomes a bad habit that makes everything more difficult. Your whole hand is coming up every time that you roll on the strings, and that is making your changes take longer because you are having to find where your fingers are every time.
hii i loved ur vid :) i had a question. do u have to have a capo in order to start learning chords really well, like when u first started to get back to playing did u use a capo? literally every song i think of needs one
no you don’t have to, but yes when you start learning songs it is very useful to get a capo, I just started my guitar practice during quarantine too :)
Hello! I recently bought a new guitar. Do you have any app suggestions or CZcams videos? I really like when you were going with your laptop and was with your sister.
Great progress Johanna. It nice to see your progress playing fingerstyle. Good luck with year two! Oh and quarentine has been really harsh on you... ;-)
Didn’t you start with a pick? I’ve just bought my 1st guitar and wanted to use my thumb and fingers but all the beginner videos I’ve watched strongly recommend using a pick to start with. I understand why as it’s obviously easier. Just really wanted to learn using it thumbs and fingers
Wait does it actually take 2 years to learn guitar or does it just depend how fast people learn because I’m probably gonna get a guitar for my birthday in March
That, yes, but it also depends on how often you play. Even if you can't play any song or melodies at all, practicing difficult cords will help you out massively in the physical. Don't get frustrated when you're not able to do a C or G chord. It's practice. Your hand isn't used to do these maneuvers. But try them so you get used to it. It takes a bit of time, yes. But it's worth it. You will get angry because you f**k something up, that's normal. Stick to it and you'll love it.
you are amazing, I am also self-taught but sadly 1 year has passed and I don't see much progression. just can't find good online teaching information, exercises, and so on. kinda getting sad :( it would be nice to see a follow up to this video :)
i just start to learn guitar in my 29 years old, already 2 weeks and still trying to remember the chords, i guess i will also make this kind of video 😂
Great progress. But you know if you really want , you should learn from some one. This will save you years. Music is a skill to be handed over by a mentor. I tried irregularly for 7 years by youtube videos and failed. Only Justine helped me a lot. Now I have decided to find a real course for 2/3 months as a last chance for me.
Why do people add "self taught" when in this video there is someone literally telling you what notes you missed. Misleading. No one is truly self taught with the amount of material available online. If you watch 100 hours of guitar lessons, you're not self taught.

Took me about 18 months to be able to play barre chords, still cant change very fast between them!

I'm still learning acoustic guitar too.
The guitar doesn't like me though, I hope I could make a progress.
Yes you will, for your first song I recommend wagon wheel by Darius Rucker
From 9 March onwards we saw two progresses

You should listen to Nick Drake fingerpicking style... It's fantastic. Try to listen to his song Pink Moon and Three Hours.
Does anyone know an app to self learn guitar
In which we don't have to pay 😂 but it still tells each and everything
Not an app but justin guitars course is pretty solid if you want to check it out!
What were the both of you singing at 1:42?
Nvm it's abba lol
Yo i too started playing it in December 2018 lol.

Can you please tell me how you learn songs? If you learned them on yt whaat channel?
4 months late but try Marty music something like that

How u are now?
do you have any suggestions for songs with chords to play when your learning? also great progress in the video!
zombies by cranberries is pretty beginner friendly, just four chords in the same order the entire song , strumming is just down,d,d,d for each chord
I wont go for more, by selah sue
Who knows what guitar model is in the video?
thank u for sharing! u got zero talent starting out. but that hard work really inspire me.

Your short hair suited you well. Loved it❤️❤️
i 15 years old now to spell guitar
outstanding start
Well, the first one actually classical guitar not accoustic
I just have one question how were you learning the songs
Probably just youtube,,, so many guys make fingerstyle tutorials like letsplayguitar
Its classical guitar
"Sound of Silence" sounds like it has similar phrasing to parts of "Fast Car."
your progress is cool.. check vaibs acoustic's progress.. i think you will learn somethings
will do:)
