For anyone curious he is using “pass thru” connectors you need a special pass thru crimper for those, a bit more pricey then a standard crimper but well worth it. Also for anyone starting out always Remember the clip should be facing down, as in you slide the connector with the wires up, if you slide the wires into the rj with clip up it will fail

Go ahead and organize your focus. Make sure your focus is pushed all the way in. That focus meter needs to go all the way as far it'll go. Then push it in one or two more times. Then take a good examination to make sure it's all blurry.

How long of a run is the cable? Are you using zip ties on the cat cable? If you cinch down too tight it'll affect speeds. Also don't untwist your wire too much past the contact pins. The tighter and longer you can keep the twists the better the speeds. Keep your twists as tight as possible before terminating onto a keystone jack as well. That's usually where people lose the most speed because they untwist too much to easily land the wires.

    • @OhItsJake

The black and red wire is a cable for an alarm system typically. You won’t be able to use those to transmit RF

    • @OhItsJake

    • @UltimateTechHub

You can gently smash the end down to fit the cable into the passthrough connector. Just do a little at a time until it fits. I do this with my Cat6a cable runs.

easy :-) My connectors were a bit different... ends can't protrude out so have to trim a bit shorter.
Also although I cut a CAT6 1M cable and the tester said it was ok it only got 10MB/sec instead of 100MB/sec. I put the other one back and tested and although the same it got 100MB/sec. Both were different cables (1 blue, one yellow) and both marked as CAT6 and had same color cables. Bit weird.
