Thanks for the lead bro. I have a nice little set of ponds hidden in a sanctuary near me that very few know about and the only fish in the small lakes are bass. No minnows, shad, bluegill or other of any kind so the only natural food is either their own young or worms. So much vegitation around and I haven't been able to get them to bite on poppers or frogs and despite my luck on plastics, they do love night crawlers. The other day I went and twice as I was reeling in a bass I caught a couple lunkers from under the very docks I was fishing would strike the battling bass on the end of my line really hard and you could see them completely mouthing and chasing the hooked bass. I fished for a small bass, caught it, used it as bait and hookup. In short, I knew I needed a small bass plastic that looked real so thanks for the lead above in your links to savage 3D. I just purchased a "baby bass" off amazon from them and it was only like $8. Subscribed

hey jon, just wondering i'm a beginning angler and need some tips on how to fish for largies. i live in florida on a canal near lake monroe. i have no idea what baits to throw at what times of day. if you could respond that would be great but i know your busy. no pressure. anyone who knows what to do can respond.

I don't live in Florida but where I'm from just go along about 20ft off shore or more tossing some night crawlers on a crawler harness out close to shore and reeling in slowly with little tiny jerks always works. It works all day but just at sunrise-12 works good as well as a couple hours before dark and fish till dark. Tossing rattle traps works for bass in Florida as I've heard.

I live in the Tampa area and spinner baits, trick worms and swim baits work the best in the Tampa bypass canal. I go either early morning or just before sunset

I was in Florida and bought both of those swim baits at BPS. I live in Tulsa and the bluegill is incredible when fished slowly.
Watching that lure sitting in the water with your rod laying on the boat deck... yeah.. that's why I stopped buying expensive rods/reels. lol. That's when the giant musky stops by for a snack.

I use the bitsy bug jigs for smallmouth bass all the time on rivers. It works really well in that area.

Early in Feb of this year, I'm fishing at a local haunt and it's storming, wind, rain, weird HAARP clouds and the RES is thick chocolate milk with a layer of wood marshmallows floating on top. (Sometimes you just have to take some casts) The wind almost blew me over twice just standing there. (Now keep in mind that a new whole influx of people are moving in the area and pressure is on the rise.) I spot two kids working there way towards me and I'm thinking, "what kind of a nut jobs would be out here today?" Well, they asked what do you call a reservoir and what is its purpose. So I ask where there from and the guy says Zimbabwe. (He just came here to attend Jr. College.) I'm thinking South African ginger? Then he lights up and asks, "Hey, do you have videos on CZcams!" I say yes but I have about ten views total and 1 sub that my other account. I can't believe they would know that. I'm thinking people in SA watch my weird video mumblings? Fans? Cool! Then he says, I've never seen you on there but "DO YOU KNOW JON B!" I say, well yeah but..."IS HE COMING HERE TODAY?" "WOW HE LIVES HERE!" "AMERICA!" I half smile and leave..."HE KNOWS JON B!" So apparently, you have a following in Zimbabwe, South Africa.
