- Shows how to replace brake pads on a Brembo equipped ND Mazda Miata and gives info on replacing rotors. I'm installing G-Loc R8 pads on the front in this video and will have another video soon installing G-Loc R6 pads in the rear. These are for light track duty but I will also do some daily driving to see if they are livable on the street.

Yeah I love how easy it is to change out the bricks on these rotors and calipers.
Thanks for showing this. I have a 2016 club and I need too do my pads. I think we live close together here in TN by the way.
Nice! I might be picking up a 2022 RF club tomorrow! They just marked it down to 32k from 36k. I couldn't justify the cost of the bbs/brembo package but when they knock that off the price I can't say no.
what brembo calipers do i need for a 2000 miata ?
Thank you for the easy to follow ‘how to’. How are these pads on the street?
The R8s (on my front) take a little more pedal pressure when cold and will squeal some after warming up but not at track temp yet (happens after normal driving for 10+ minutes for me) and were great on the track. I can modulate the pedal to help with the squeal. The R6s (on my rear) work great throughout the temp range but will sometimes make a very high pitched squeal while moving. I can't hear it but my wife can. This reminds me, I need to pick up some GS-1s before winter.
Do you need to install the shims on the new pads?
If I was installing stock pads, I'd reuse the shims as they help with sound. But I believe you get better brake petal feel without them.
What year is your mx5 and at what mileage did you change pads
It's a 2019 and I changed the pads to track pads at around 23k. The old pads were still in good shape when I removed them.
Easier than I thought they would be. So I'm guessing the back pads are fine then.
I did a separate video on the back pads: czcams.com/video/K4B2Ybfd5TY/video.html
