1. CAO LAU THANH
ADDRESS: 26 Thai Phien street, Minh An district, Hoi An
CAO LÂU (HOI AN THICK NOODLES SOUP): Dip noodles and spring sprouse in boiled water and place in a bowl. Continue adding herbs, char siu pork, char siu sauce, cashew oil, sate and fried cao lau in the bowl.

2. DUC NHAY 1 VILLAGE
APPETIZER: Bamboo sticky rice, basil salt & steamed bamboo shoot.
GRILLED PORCUPINE: Marinate the meat with lemongrass, ginger, chillies, pepper, honey and cooking oil. Grill it for 30 mins. Chop up and place on a plate with herbs.
PORCUPINE INTESTINE SOUP (PỊA): Boil the intestine and then cut it into small pieces. Add ginger and the mixture of lemongrass, chillies, fish sauce, salt and seasonings. Continue adding vegetables (including herbs, basil, coriander and cilantro) and cook until it's done.
FAKE DOG MEAT: Chop up the porcupine meat-bone and place in a pot. Add lemongrass, ginger, salt, shrimp paste, seasonings, honey and fermented rice in the pot. Stir it well for 20 minutes and then add herbs.
PORCUPINE SALAD: Steam the porcupine with lemongrass, ginger and chillies. Chop the meat up and place in a bowl. Add a mixture of lemongrass, chillies, fish sauce, salt and seasonings. Continue adding MSG, herbs, stir-fried smash rice, and lime. Mix everything up and serve.
RƯỢU CẦN (STRAW WINE): Use purple sticky rice seeds that have been raised for 8 months. Cook on firewood and then add in a clay pot to begin the 1-week fermentation process. Pour water in the pot of fermented sticky rice.

the exhausting amount of work put into this one video is an understatement. I can tell the video shots of the motorcycle riding in the beginning took a lot of takes. You have to film them driving away from you, film them driving to you, film the same exact way with a drone, from behind, in front, and bird's eye view. And that's not even the food and village part. I am so glad that Sonny started his own channel, he was the best show they had on Buzz Feed. In fact since Sonny and the Try Guys left, I don't even really watch that channel anymore, I just watch Sonny and the Try Guys channel lol. Sonny has a great sense of humor and his show are absolutely the best. Especially when not everyone gets his sense of humor, it just makes me laugh even harder.

the drone shots and the cool angles and the narration really makes this feel like a tv show. on one hand i'd LOVE for sonny and his team to get paid more if this was picked up by netflix, which would allow them to do even bigger and better videos, but on the other hand i love that this is free on youtube and done by a small team of 10. its so cool.

You guys were literally eating at my uncle's Cao Lau restaurant in Hoi An!! I used to run around in that very yard where you were sitting enjoying that delicious food... that's wild man. What a small world. I now live in Canada and watch your videos all the time. We try to make the same dish but it's just not the same because we don't have those local fresh ingredients.
