I love that the airgun industry is trying to keep up with shooters demand but the fact that a LOT of guns that are coming out don’t have a regulator 1 and 2 a small air cylinder. They want to charge us to spend an arm and a leg they need to give us our moneys worth for real! Regulators and larger air cylinders that you don’t have to look down the barrel to check the air pressure isn’t a hell of a lot to ask for. As always, you always get the best out of the guns you review. now it’s their turn to give us the best for our money. I would love to buy a gun like this but I’m not spending my money on a sub par gun that’s not regulated. Hatsan always tries to balance valve to pressure but each consecutive shot still drops speed...that’s not REGULATION. As always thank you. You are the man. Stay safe new well and if you can give them this message cause I’m NOT Alone with this statement.
I been thinking about getting this gun because you can change out the barrels with different calibers but wasn’t sure how good it would be. You just showed me that they are powerful and accurate. Thanks Rick. I’ll be ordering one soon.

They did make a beautiful looking rifle. Unfortunately for me, with the terrible warranty work that was done recently on a Bullboss ( three trips to hatsan for repair) rifle has spent more time in shipping and at hatsan during the last three months. I will not be purchasing another Hatsan anytime soon.
As always a great review and a lot of information but as usual Hatsan has managed to produce another non-regulated pcp, now you have to keep an eye on your pressure gauge and count your shots to keep it in a sweet spot.

My wife's got one, while I went for a Flashpup. Comparing both rifles, I think I'll get a Hydra myself. Excellent finish, great wood, and shooting hers, yeah, it's a tack driver. Great gun!
Love the traditional looking stock. Definitely a buy for me. Make an excellent small game, groundhog and raccoon pcp.
Just ordered mine and should be here Saturday! Got the .25, plan on getting the arrow barrel as well. My new close range coyote airgun!
Im in NE PA, just south of the Poconos, and working on getting my first PCP, probably a 25 cal, but might settle for a 22. Planning warmer weather varmint shooting at a friends farm to rid him of pests come 2023 spring/summer. Havent decided on the gun yet, I do have 3 on my wish list, Umarex gauntlet, Sig Sauer and Hatsan.
This will be in my collection. I have found a lot of love from Hatsanusa!

Nice review and shooting man.I really like hatsan via price wise against the really exspensive air rifles. Won't break the bank and you can tune them with upgrades and still shoot with the exspensive stuff.I have several hatsan's and put any of them against the big boys any day.Hatsan has really come along way in their time.I don't have the hydra model but it seems very nice.So far I like the flash wood model purchased during the pandemic,it's beautiful and she's way underrated,I do pest control over here in Maryland by the way.havining a Lot of real fun :)hey,I watch all your videos.Keep up the excellent reviews,awsome! $tay $afe an happy,happy air gunning fella.

Iam not complaining but just giving Hatsan some food for thought. Make removable air cylinders. It would be nice to be able to carry full spares. 😎😎😎😎
My hatsan bullboss air cylinder is completely removable without degassing it, and u can carry full spares. My hatsan flashpup u must remove air to take it off
I think Hatsan needs to put a forward barrel band on. It looks like if it were hit it could bend barrel. It needs support. Watch all your videos . Enjoy the trick shots.thanks
Hatsan has really improved over the years, and that stock and Voltaire pretty nice.

A little tip from a pro: you're using the wrong side of the Allen-key, that way you're defecting the thumbscrew or any other screw you're working on. Also, the keys tend to snap that way. Never use the ball-end for that purpose. Even with low momentum, they will snap and then you're not gonna be happy. ;)

I keep seeing 1year to 4 year old reviews here with numerous complaints about not enough air capacity and lousy Hatsan customer service. Is it possible that after a product has been on the market for 3 or 4 years, that they've gotten the bugs out of the Hydra? It sounds like a great idea but if it still has problems after that long on the market... that's certainly not very encouraging!!
Are there any newer reviews on the Hydra rifle or the Hatsan Flash - Wood? The older ones are interesting but I'd like to hear how they're working after a few years out in the public eye.

Paul Andrews maybe try a Nova Vista Alpha/Liberty with its side cocking lever high and low power knob adjustable reg and trigger 10 shot rotary mag that like 13$ each and shoots as good as my Crown or Dreamline to 80 yards + and is under 350$ for wood stock and syrhois under 300$. Up to you...

Rick- is the hammer spring easily adjustable on these with that thumbscrew? seems like it might benefit from a couple of turns out to get a bell curve.

Thinking about getting the .22 and .25 barrels. Very interested in seeing how the .22 would shoot the H&N slugs.
The BLITZ is going to be the only thing they sell in the future.

Plan on buying this in a couple months. Curious to see what it can do with slugs. H&N Grizzly rounds shoot great from my Hatsan 135, so I’m curious to see how the .25 barrel in the hydra will do. And I’ll try the H&N .22 slugs and hopefully they shoot well too.

Good review. I read a lot of complaints as to how fast the air drops off. After two mags it has dropped considerably. Do you find this to be the case? I’d like to know before I consider droppings some bucks on it. Thank you.

I live in Lancaster County Pa and was looking for advice on a .25, .30, and .357.
So on the Hydra, you had to use an Allen key to tighten it because your thumb and fore finger weren't enough. How tight do you need it? You're pinky finger can crush mere men. Lol

Rick, before you do the chronograph, what is the device you attach to the end of the barrel? Is it part of a two-piece chrono?

What the advantages or disadvantages between a no chocked barrel and a chocked barrel . You made it sound like it was a disadvantage. Is there a problem using slugs with a chocked barrel ? Any info about a chocked barrel would be great .

The case will not be available, it is kinda pointless when you have to remove the scope to fit it inside. We are looking at offering a case that will accommodate the barrels with scopes.
I never appreciate Hatsan's service. They do not stand behind their products. The don't answer phone calls. They do not return calls. I will never buy any Hatsan guns ever again.
Is it possible to tune the barrel or regulator whereas it can shoot .25 cal at at least 1100fps? I need at least 1000 fps for .22 and or .25 cal. Is it possible in ANY pcp air rifle?

Got one refurbished and it leaked air immediately. Hatsan customer service is horrible. I’ll have to rebuild the hydra myself now because they demanded I pay shipping both ways and pay for the work.. when they sold me a non refurbished gun obviously. Hatsan makes beautiful guns, but they’re horrible with customers and I learned with Hatsan guns I bought in the past they’re hit and miss. You either get a well made gun or junk.

Everything is nice but less cc, fast power drop. There should be place in the case for whole gun n scope intact and for extra barrel. They made 30 + fpe rifle just for 10 shots? This is my opinion air cylinder should have been 300 cc to get more n consistent shots out of it. "Mm, 300 dolar gun, 400 bucks gun, beginner rifle" I don't want to hear this #hatsan! Step up!
