- I think I''ve finally found the holy grail of camp chairs (for me ).
for as long as I can remember, Ive been on the look out for a comfy camp chair.
It didn't matter the colour, the brand or the cost( within reason) .
Anytime a camp chair was within range, I was there to sink my butt into it, just in case that was the one.
Well, it finally happened when I sat in the Oztent King Kokoda

I have the same catches on some cheap chairs, they're a couple of years old and still work perfectly. Cheers Steve

I bought the King Goanna a few weeks ago and love it. I thought the softer arms were a little more comfortable than the Kokoda but yeah, personal choice. The only things I can criticize is what you said about size, but I just throw it up in the roof and it seems less of a size issue next to my stretcher and swag, lol. The other thing I wish was different is the pocket and drink holder, I'd like to put it on the left-hand side but again, personal choice or handedness.
The lumbar system is a game changer, sooooo comfortable. And if I fold the chair's bag up suitably and put it in the headrest zip section, it really adds to the comfort and is a safe place not to lose the bag when out camping...only thing is, the first time I went camping with the chair, when it was pack-up time I forgot I put the bag in the headrest and spent the next half-hour wondering what I did with the (unrepeatable) bag, searching through my car and the surrounding bush 🤬 Haha, I felt a right twit when I gave up looking only to 'find' it when I couldn't work out why the (unrepeatable🤬🤬) chair wouldn't pack down properly 🤔🤣🤣🤣
Your right Karl, the lumbar support mechanism is the real trick here to being so comfy. If you're throwing it next to a swag, I'm sure it seems small 😁 I do now stick the bag in the head section but often forget to do it. I can imagine one day I will likely do the same and wonder where I put the bloody thing. Gave me a chuckle , because im sure it's something I will do.
Be careful of the poor quality nuts and bolts. They fall off and cause it to be unusable.
Great chair, the pocket with the zip is for putting the carry bag in to give you a pillow.
i think the best thing about them is how thick they are and your back doesnt get cold :)

I have the oz trail RV Jumbo and it’s just as good. Although I’m not sure they make them anymore.

I think I have more oztrail stuff than anything else. they do good budget type gear. I love the oztent stuff too but it's a bit more pricey.
great review. I have a different version to that and i agree 100% that these are the most comfy chairs ever, mine lives in the back of the Pajero permanently.
Which one do you have mark? I tried the geckos which a mate had but didn't find them as comfy, BUT I didn't mess about with the straps because they weren't my seats.
I'm wondering if adjusting them would have made them feel better to me like this one did.
they had a table as well, which would have been nice
@@DENMONKEY oops i got it wrong, I've got the jet pilot dx. It's the Same bag and chair design but has a different frame
to be honest, I thought the jet pilot ones were oztent as well since they look so similar.
Plus they had them side by side at the shows.
That's why i thought it was the same lol
Silicon spray on the sliding parts makes it work like it should. We have 2 of them. Excellent chair.
Cheers Chris, is there any chance you posted that silicon tip on a review somewhere ? I looked at heaps of websites and spotted that same suggestion . Any chance that was you too ?
I've been looking for THE camp chair for a long time and committed myself to finding a good one every chance I got.
I'm pretty pumped with this one if you can't tell. If there is something better than this one out there, I wanna know because I'm not sure there is.. that's subjective of course.
@@DENMONKEY No mate, we discovered that one ourselves, didn't think to look at reviews. We did the same as you, bums on seats till we liked one. I only wish it had a fold out table, then it would be the perfect chair.

good review.. have you tried the aldi camp chairs? heavy duty, surprisingly cheap and with the same lumbar setup.. ive had a couple for over 3yrs now. theyre a good size for us of "sizable stature" as well ;)

I just got mine from Anaconda for $99, after xmas specials. Im gonna make a video on mine too.
Theyre a great seat but anything over about 100 bucks it starting to get up there for a seat.

This video is already fairly old but the chair is still sold actively. I came to comment just to point out that in case you had not yet figured it out, the zip pouch behind your head is to put the bag inside to act as a pillow.
I found your video, nice review of the chair, looks like was done in 2019.
How's the chair held up and is it still your favorite chair?
I've been looking at one of these chairs but a bit pricey so wanted to do a little research before shelling out $ for one.

Had mine for 6 months. Used twice. Once chair now stuffed from a little bit of sand. So disappointing for such an expensive seat.

Not happy with the quality. The nuts fall off and then the bolts fall out. Causing a useless thing to carry round

You are killing me! More spending! Actually this is Mrs approved as she hates our camp chairs! Plus BCF have a camp chair special at the moment and this is going for $109! Stock up.
I take no responsibility for the level of trouble you're in with the missus. You're on your own there. If you try them out, make sure you play with the buckle system on the side. There are cheaper variants in the same range of you want to save a few bucks. There was an rv model and an rv sport or something. I think they were a bit lighter weight too. Let me know what you end up going with and what you think
