Most other 490 town water is on the draw bar, just one thing, move your tank breathers from the rear as the movement of water in the tanks sucks water into the pipes as you drive in dusty conditions.
Cheers Mike. Yes the discussion that was had questioned if it was factory or not and seems locations can vary. I would have expected it to be at the front somewhere. My normal tank filll point is at the rear beside the spare tire. Cheers for the pointer on the breathers. They did have some filters in the end but they had clogged up so I pulled them out. It seems they're still not breathing though, as I'm still getting suction from the fill cap when opened. So that's on the list of things to do.
@DENMONKEY also check your dual battery wiring, they come out of the factory with a badly wired system, you will need to re wire them if it already hasn't been done, message me if you want clarification on this, especially if you are considering lithium.
You could look at getting an inline ball valve and have it there permanently.
Well done on the new van mate, looks like a great piece of gear, looking forward on the next videos
Nice bit of gear Good luck on your new journey Always a pleasure to watch what ever you put up. Love the new dog, hope all goes well with him. Thanks fore sharing
I’ve been day dreaming at those for years. They look like a great camper. Having the sink buckets, the pantry system and inside outside tables look to be real smart thinking. Id love to know how big the front bed is and what the Weber storage looks like.
Interesting mate. Cheers Steve
Talk about people looking like their pets, the only thing missing was his glasses. Looking forward to new camping and products vids😊.
Thanks for the advise at the end ❤🙏🏽😊o
Do the old fashioned electric hot plates run on a smooth power curve ? I need a low draw induction but if it keeps peaking every few seconds, that will trip the inverter.
Can you please do a video on microwaves and running them?
Well done fella that's interesting, good insight, cheers for that im sure alot of camping guys will appreciate your time bringing us this information 👍
Thanks for the idea. Great video. Question? where are the tie down points at the front of that rear area?
I have a separate google email for all this registration of products, as well as, gaming bs. These companies end up selling your email to various phishing companies. You should get a separate email for registrations, makes life way easier and you feel happy you got one up on any that sell your info. I like how you experiment and how you explain things, at first I thought I would need a drink to understand any of it, but once you demonstrated it, eureka 💡, I didn’t feel so dumb after all. Not saying I’m not, but at least I didn’t feeellll it. 😂
keen to hear your thoughts on it now a few months down the track and what do you see as the general amp draw
Yo brother thanks for your very informative video. I bought a "spector" induction cooktop from ebay and that pos makes my 3k inverter shut down from the spikes! Just ordered this same model "tokit" from their website, $177 delivered (from China, I expect). Also, I was speaking with a sparky today at work and he reckons those on-off spikes are really reducing the life of your inverter, battery, switches and everything connected to the device. Seems like a no-brainer to pay the extra $120 or so to prolong the life of your far more expensive devices.
Late to the show but got yourseld a new subscriber mate! Any follow on thoughts on this buffer mate?
the big question .. have you had it out in the wild yet ? how did it perform great video by the way @DENMONKEY
I’d be wearing a mask and wouldn’t be blowing air to disperse that dust.
Hey mate! Great video! Wondering how are those brass monkey fridges doing? Thanks!

How many times you said James just wondering 😅( joke).. Thanks a lots great information 👍

@KAONaust @KAONaust @KAONaust
I envy your view!! Do you think a few finger sized sticks of river cane or bamboo could be easily lashed together to form a lightweight frame for this panel when camping? Rather than lashing, one could possibly fabricate some take-down fittings from PVC or EMT (It's what we call the thin walled electrical conduit in the US. Don't know what you fellas call it.) Cut short lengths of EMT, smash one end and pop rivet them together into Tees and Ells and Crosses to allow you to build a square with a few cross members. I think it could be done in a way that was fairly portable. What do you think? Would it still be too flimsy or not worth the effort?
Inverted the sump plate LOL wow. New Kaon plates look mint. Is anybody making the rear bar plates anymore? for protection against becoming a sand scoop?
Has anyone in the USA used this successfully without starting a fire? From what Iunderstand it is only designed for 100 volts Japanese current.
Nah that’s not true, works fine on UK 240v. Could be different country specific versions though so not sure about the USA model
Looking forward to seeing the new caravan mate, and your right, absolutely hate the mud as well
Soon real soon. Bloody mud
Looking forward to seeing the new camper. Based on the way you test gear, I’m sure you have investigated it thoroughly and given due consideration before taking the plunge and purchasing it Cheers
I think I have. I have literally watched every video I can find on CZcams. There's not that many. I can't wait to get it and share it.
Thank's for your review Good on yahh Brett Thank's for sharing
Always rely on you for a comment. Thanks robbie
Gee, at 10:00, you're kind of hard on the gear, eh? 😉🤣
FYI, I have the same side-steps/sliders, so you've given me a fair bit of faith of how tough they are.
That's exactly what I put them on for. ok maybe not exactly but they certainly give me confidence to head down trails littered with branches knowing those loud bangs arent anything to worry about.
well.....i didnt bend it . funnily enough it wasnt the hard stuff that did it. bloody mud
@@DENMONKEY All good. You're exactly right, that's why we add these protections. Mission accomplished. That my accusation got a rise and response... mission accomplished 🤣🤣🤣

Cool video Really like your truck, it’s world class and I love the turbo flutter sounds it makes. Did you upgrade your turbo! If so what did you get. Nice to see you go hard on the tracks and don’t pussy foot it. You’ve seen me Pajero videos haven’t you?
its a garret tdx. with the tune as well, its a different car to drive. I do love having a go and the pajero is yet to not make it up anything I point it at. More flex would be nice but I'm confident in its abilities. I was thinking about hard pipes like yours too. you have beautiful scenery there
Hi Brett If the KAON's are lighter than the BOOS plates, does that mean they are thinner ans perhaps not as durable as the old ones?
Apparently not. Due to the type of metal Kaon have used and their design they are light yet extremely tough. Many people have them in the Prado community and swear by them. 🍺
I think Some of the Kaon bash plates are made from StrenX, which has a higher yield strength than mild steel and is lighter. Not sure about the Pajero’s though
I have no idea Allan but the guys below seem to have some insight. I guess I will find out
Were those 3mm or 4mm Boos? I've had 4mm Boos for a while and just ordered the RHS to save some weight and also hopefully get some better airflow to the intercooler... The Kaon ones look great and I nearly bought them...
3mm but the fuel tank one was 4mm i think . i had to go back and check the video . the kayon intercooler also has wings. I missed that in the video . those RHS are a nice bit of kit though
Love the videos Brett. Quick question. Why didn't you drive 1 metre forward so you were under the carport and didn't get wet 😋
Thinking maybe carport height is an issue when up on the ramps
ah, I'm not as stupid as I look. It wouldnt fit under the carport once up on the ramps with the cb antenna on the front. I know...i looked :) so I could either get it under but not on the ramps or ramps and get wet. the water runs under the carport from the backyard anyway., so no winning really.
yuppers. the antenna on front ]
We know you love the Mud Brett, stop pretending you don't lmfao. Also you are more than a little bit different lmfao. Kaon ones do look pretty good, I thought about them but ended up going the BushSkinz as I like their looks more. Lucky you didn't snap any of those old bolts when removing them. I snapped one of mine holding the front plate on. Pain in the rear and meant I had to re-tap the damn holes. I do like that the Kaons are recessed into the plate rather than exposed bolt heads.
That rivnut got me 4 years or so I think of punishment. hope this one does the same. although I think I might back off the harder stuff and do more touring with the new camper when I get it.
@@DENMONKEY mine has a thread inside, not a rivnut but maybe I should get some and fix the stuffed holes.
I don't do mud either - Hate it because I cant see in it.
egg zachery. and its rubbish to get off when you get home. nice to wear as a badge of honor on the way home though., It tells others, I USE my 4wd :)
im really ater a decent cooktop and this looked great until it wants your phone to link up with it ...seriously im glad i dont have much longer to live becasue i swear in a few years time we will have to register each sheet of dunny paper before we use it and fill in a form saying what we had for dinner yesterday.
Yeah everything wants your information these days. I hate that as much as i hate force subscriptions and self serve check outs
@@DENMONKEY i think im just gonna stick with fire cooking or tiny gas burner cooking or use my trangia ... am looking at one of those collapsible cookpots for maybe rice pastas soups .. i just ordered one of those allpower power station thingys and im just not technical enough to bother with all the math or study on voltage wats apps etc. I wish there where more aussie reviews on simple easy to use compact items we can use with the power stations while camping or just travelling... with products we can actually purchase here...so many chanels with so much gear u cant even get shipped here or the shipping price is outrageous....

Regarding feedback when on phone -- It is a phone problem not your head unit because my phone and others that I know of have done feedback even when NOT connected to anything ! -- I am "told" it is to do with the carrier picking you up on two towers simultaneously

Hi, this will charge the batties for my Stihl strimmer. 36v fast charger
100Ah or 100 Amp hour refers to storage capacity not drawing capacity. Most of these cheap batteries are only rated to draw 50 amps continuously. Thank you for covering these issues with cable sizing and continuous draw, people need to do a check over on all this gear before putting loads on it
