A Pokemon Shield Hardcore Nuzlocke Challenge with ONLY SHINY POKEMON - Can it be done? (No items, No overleveling)

RULES:
1) If a Pokemon faints, it's considered dead and can no longer be used.
2) Only the first shiny encounter can be caught on each route.
3) Species Clause; I can reroll an encounter if the first encounter is something already caught.
4) No items in battle (held items are fine).
5) No overleveling the next gym leader's highest Pokemon (leveling up during the fight is allowed).
6) Battle style must always be on 'Set'.

I have to admit it is a huge pet peeve of mine when the lowest version of an evolution line has the best shiny. Like staryu looks so good with that sandy color and then evolves and looks pretty similar to the regular form of starmie

@@tash_cash4902 I’m not trying to be an ass sorry but, there’s a video showing he encounters each Pokémon around 5 times or so before getting each of his shinies, in his ORAS runs he even blurs the Pokédex when he catches a new Pokémon cause it shows how many times he has encountered the Pokémon and it’ll usually say something like 8, plus I expect him to delete my comments

Pokemon has always been a relatively easy game. This game is no exception and is arguably one of the easiest. However, it's still the most fun I've had in a Pokemon game since either Black/White or HG/SS. Absolutely love this game.
X and y are the easiest games by far this is close second tho
agreed with your intro! SwSh have such a great variety of pokemon to build a team with, and the wild area, dens, and gym battles are all epic.
Yeah that plus the move relearner at every pokemon center. Makes the QOL so great in these games
@@Quinnjamin yeah it really is hard to go back to previous games. Even in usum and bdsp you can feel the effects the lack of the QoL changes has.
i completely agree it’s prob my favorite poekmon game atm i love everything about it it’s so fun and so rewarding and feels like the only game when you beat the champion that you did it you beat the best pokemon trainer it’s very rewarding i hate when people talk bad about the game because i truly do love this game

He boosted the shiny rates as said in the description, so some of the magic would fade away! But I would like to know how mmuch he boosted them.
100% agree with you, Shiny Gigalith is definitely my favourite shiny (alongside Shiny Reshiram) because it was the first Shiny I ever caught!. I found it as a Boldore in Twist Mountain in Pokémon White 2!

Now that's a take I would like to hear more of personally I love these games especially for the roster of characters in the games like the character design is so good looking and I like their personalities I don't like friendly rivals but hope was different he actually had a arc into actually accepting he can't be as good as his brother and that's good he accepted that. Anyway this game is really great have more than 1000 hours on it so I agree
I think the main two things are the wild area and move relearner which both increase the QOL for nuzlockes by so much.
I do agree about the character design. It definitely feels like each gym leader has a strong personality based around their types.
I agree, I don't remember any rival that had an actual character arc, Blue is always a jerk, Silver is always edgy, they don't really change throughout the game and have a character arc. It's nice to have a rival that doesn't just seem like somebody who wouldn't actually exist.

Finally beat main story hardcore nuzlock but now doing dlc in the same rules but watching your stuff really got me back into Pokemon so keep doing what you do and love seeing you enjoy Shield so many people shit on these games which I feel isn't right cause they are actually pretty good
I did enjoy Shield quite a bit, mainly for the diversity of Pokémon you can get right away.
I also got my first ever legitimate shiny (full odds, random encounter too, not counting USUM wormhole shinies) in my second playthrough. My Golett (now Golurk) immediately became my favorite, what makes it even better is that I was shiny hunting him in BW

I think... I think this might be the first time I've watched a Pokemon Sword/Shield vid from someone that enjoys them (youtube "recommends" me all the... other vids).
And I agree, I love 'em personally. Playing through Shield a second time as a mono-themed run and it's just... fun.
Fun fact: Roggenrolla(?)'s second stage was my favorite mon in Black2, my forst pokemon game, so I went on the hunt as well and got one. Beautiful shiny colors!

Mega jealous about how Rookidee and Wooloo were Jolly Nature, basically ideal natures for the in game story. The natures I usually get are either the exact opposite of the ideal nature or sassy and the like

0:16 the pokemon that they chose to bring back for sword and shield are just incredible. Tonnes of gen 5 and 6 pokemon
The first two pokemon you got in the hunt reminded me of what i'm doing right now, and its the exact same thing you're doing. You inspired me to do the hunt on my own, and I wanted to give myself more of a challenge and NOT USE the isle of armor or the crown tundra. Thank you for all you do, and wish me luck

I agree Sword and Shield are definitely one of my favorite games. The dex may have been cut (which is understandable) but it has a really wide and diverse roster of Pokemon to pick from so you can never be bored. Recently I've been doing a Trashlocke and it is surprising how even the "trash" Pokemon are really able to hold their own thanks to TRs and the move relearner. Anyways Shiny Gigalith is pretty dope reminds me of Diamondhead from Ben 10

He literally cheats if you ever watched his streams he uses cheats to increase shiny odds to where every Pokémon is shiny don’t let him mislead you.

Max flare only did half damage because the dynamic moves override the choice specs, so you are able to use any dynamax move when you do that. But you don't get the boost
15:39 No one mentioned that the Drakloak is STAR SHINY? That thing is super rare!
In another comment he mentioned he boosted the shiny odds for the play through. He also said it must also have boosted that.

I think Sword and Shield got so much better once both dlc's got added. The first one isn't the best but is still a pretty fun few hours but the second one omg. That dlc made the game so fucking fun, the story of the main game may not be the best but the game is so much fun and idk why people get so mad about these games
People got pissed about the pokemon balance, and the lack of alot of OG pokemon, forgetting what the game introduced, however, black and white were hated in launch, and are now loved so, I think they will become more popular.

@@FatalHog After Legends Arceus I don't think they really will get popular (kinda showed the company could of done better with SwSh but didn't), not as popular as Legend Arceus anyways. Black and White was disliked for other reasons than SwSh, can't say SwSh will end up the same when it's a different ball game; Black and White was mostly disliked for being a bit boring, SwSh is disliked for basically everything under the sun: the graphics (trees), the easiness, the bad methods of shiny hunting it added, the story, and especially the price. Black and White started to get appreciated in later years because newer pokemon games sucked so bad for people! It became a "yikes..can we go back to how stuff was? I think I prefer that over this disaster" situation. Unless something down the road is far worse than SwSh it probably won't get the same appreciation as Black and White..

Yes it removes the choice item effect. If the buff also gets removed is a thing I do not know but I guess it also gets removed.
Assault Vest stays the same regardless of Dynamax but since Choice Items would lock you in regardless of your moveset those get disabled during the duration including the 1.5x boosts they normally provide
@@Quinnjamin it does unlock the move selection when the pokemon is holding a choice item and also cancels the boost of the item - at least that's what it does in Pokemon Showdown

Finally someone else that likes Gen 8 personally the Galar games are my favorite. And i grew up when Gen 1 came out (literally came out a few years after I was born) and I love a lot of things with the Galar games from the regional forms to the fact I can finally use Safari balls where ever I want without a game shark.

For me, it is interesting seeing that all your wild Shinies are Star Sparkles instead of Diamond Squares 🤔 I have been hunting for shinies in Shield since release date and I haven't encounter a Single wild Star Sparkles shiny (I know you can find them in the wild, but at a low %) and you here, rocking 5 Star Sparkle shinies 🤔🤔🤔🤔 not counting Impidimp cuz it was a Static encounter, so it had a higher rate for Stars) I don't know, it just look pretty sus!! It was hard to notice it, cuz you barely show them Sparkling or entering a battle...

I took a three year break from Pokemon and just read people trashing Sword and Shield but when I played it I got to use some of my favorite Rokemon and actually explore a Rokemon region so its in my top 5.
Doesn't the rules say one pokemon per route and it must be the first you encounter? Then why did he catch wooloo on route 1
I think the "hardcore" means 1 mon per badge. Could be mistaken.

Huh 🤔 I am 99.99% you turned up your odds a bit there chief. bc as far as I could see, you tried cutting out all of the shiny effects (you did not succeed in that) and the shiny effects I was able to see where always star shiny wich is very rare for a wild pokemon. About 1/16 shinys are star shiny or 1 in 65.536 encounters. Also the fact that almost every shiny effect is cut out makes it even less believable for me
