Can you Beat Pokemon Sword with JUST ONE Ditto?
I attempted to beat Pokemon Sword using only one ditto. This was by far the hardest Pokemon challenge that I've ever taken on and maybe the hardest gaming challenge I've ever done. Having only one ditto on your team in Pokemon Sword is way more limiting than I thought.

Primape because yha it's lore is sad and disturbing but here's the funny thing it can learn the move meditate meaning it has the ability to not be so angry but only through selective breeding kinda sad really

At level 100 your ditto has 300 HP, and by the calculations, that's the highest a ditto can have. Your ditto had 31 HP IV. If IVs were random then you had some good luck.
If I was doing the run I'd just hack in a ditto with 31s in all IVs and max the useful EVs to give myself the best advantage. Seemed like he had some hacked items so it's no a stretch
Bruh, you can look up ditto and it'll tell you that, no calculations needed! (Just for the future to make it easier on you)

Leon really wanted to be an activist promoting clean energy that does not rely on Eternatus, didn’t he? I mean, ignoring Chairman Rose’s pleas did lead him to raise Eternatus, but still.

This is probably the first time I've seen Hop be the biggest challenge, the funniest part being that he's only so tough to beat BECAUSE he's such a bad trainer 🤣
Hop is such a pitiful rival. And he wonders why he keeps losing.

this challenge is the monkeys with typewriters of the pokemon world, with the amount of times you just have to replay a battle and hope for rng. no shade, and HUGE props for both the patience and planning required

That was a very merciful Charizard fight at the end
The way it set up helpful terrain and weather for you instead of ending the game was remarkable

Someone already did this, Pikasprey. He beat every gen 1, gen 2 game without impostor, and in 1 attempt.

fun fact about shell trap: Shell Trap will not be triggered from the Pokémon being hit by a move that's receiving a bonus from Sheer Force. just super strange but cool

immediately upon starting this video I recognized imposter as a potential double-edged sword. free transformation on turn one, yes, but no struggle strats. there's no cop-out, you are STUCK with your opponent's first pokemon

ditto only challenges: one of the rare instances where your opponent knowing crappy moves is actually worse for YOU.

Except technically he can't beat this game with the ruleset because the double battles make it so he had to have a second pokemon which means he can't beat the game with just one ditto.

This was extremely entertaining. I would want to see this challenge as a nuzlocke, with the added rule that you can add a ditto to the team after each gym badge maybe?

Just a FYI confusion was nerfed in gen 7 so it's only a 30% as opposed to the original 50% of the time so it's not as detrimental to your strategies as it once was hence why you luck out more frequently
when hop is actually challenging
A player wishes for you to not crit
A nuzlocker wishes that you don’t end the battle with a win
Only a ditto user wishes you the best stats and good moves

There’s a huge difference between having 2 dittos and having a ditto
I haven't played pokemon in years, but seeing some of the new[er] pokemon is so cool! Most of them are really creative, although some of them kinda look like digimon lol (which would be fine, but these are not digimon)
man i cant believe you actually did this this is incredible. Not sure if youve seen it or know him but Jrose did a ditto only challenge on emerald and there was this glitch.... or something where if you level up in mid match the level up stats of ditto override the copy stats so in certain matches he was using a copied mon with his actual ditto stats. I just wanted to know if this happened for you in this run. Amazing video cant leave a comment without saying that man
That glitch is only in gen 3 (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, and LeafGreen)
seeing this video i kinda wish there was a kaizo Sword&Shield where you can play the game against trainers and gym leaders with competitive pokemon fully ev trained with held items like they kinda did for the gym rerun in BDSP

Would a Ditto without Imposter have been an easier run because of the possibility of deliberately using Struggle with Ditto's actual stats?
Nope. Post gen 4 struggle means any battle with 4 pokemon or more is impossible. And you can't ohko wooloo with a struggle crit to transform into pokemon 2 either.

I always thought of doing a 2 ditto playthroug. Both having imposter, means no pp problems, i think. But one is obviously incredibly difficult and annoying. Well done.

no sweat about wanting to give up. I have a grubbin only run where i quit trying for 2 years then returned to beat Oleana at the end of the steel gym.

Oh my gosh! I saw Pikasprey's series of a Ditto long ago, but that was in an old gen when Struggle did 1/2 the damage _dealt,_ not a quarter of your HP (meaning you could slowly whittle down strong targets). I thought this was impossible in newer generations, and Hop's awful, awful, lead Woolo doesn't help - but sometimes you get so lucky like having a move that hits both in the last gym!
Also, 10/10 vid and editing, haven't enjoyed a Pokemon vid this much since MDB

Sounds like you needed 2 dittos so Duncan could switch out and then come back in as one of the opponents' later Pokemon.
Also abusing friendship mechanics might have gotten you more lucky saves. :D
imposter is kinda worst in this kinda of challenge specially at early game
if you don't transform into ur opponent mons you can use ur own ditto stats to struggle
the only benefit this have if ur normal stats is better then the enemy stats and if you over-lvling... YES(sometimes)
then use ur pp recover stubs to take another form later

I mean, it still would've been pretty difficult since using struggle makes u lose 1/4 of ur hp. Doesn't having imposter make it easier, especially in later fights
@@talete7712 I mean I guess without in-battle items. But the Pikasprey runs showed that struggle is a really valuable asset.

Going into the fourth gen, struggle was nerfed into the floor, going from dealing recoil based on the *opponent,* to now dealing recoil based on *you,* meaning levelling up doesn't make the recoil easier to handle. Thanks, Leftovers Wobbufett... Though at least the move can no longer miss (except against the usual suspects of dig and co. of course) while it could before.
Somewhere near the end of the video it corrupts it's still viewable and you can still understand it but the visuals go to Random colors

i had a level 36 g max intelion with 1 badge i had 0 badges with 36 dynamax i had expansion pass and gtrinded raid dens in wild area on my first time on sword

I think if you went the Thanos route and had 3 dittos instead of the full 6, I think the challenge would be valid, especially with trainers like mid game hop for example
Two types of battles:
1) The opponent starts with a Pokemon with a type advantage against their other Pokemon.
2) The opponent starts with an awful Pokemon, severely hindering Ditto's ability upon transforming and usually relying on the opponent to do a rare chance of doing bad moves.
