I'm actually a big fan of bug types, there's just a massive gab between the good and bad ones. Compound Eyes Galvantula is actually pretty powerful, and the ones with Quiver Dance are the big draws (Rabombee, Volvarona, etc)
i used to think rabombee was weak but its pretty good ngl
There is also Frosmoth, which sits comfortably in the middle as the worst Quiver Dancer.

I was quite surprised that they didn't give Spidops the Bug/Fighting type, especially when Rabsca was a Bug/Psychic type and Lokix ended up being a Bug/Dark type
Yeah, agreed, feels like it probably should have been.
That being said, there are a few highly disappointing wasted opportunities when it comes to bug Pokemon, the key one being Yanma/Yanmega - based off a dragon fly, about as perfect as you could get for a dragon/bug typing. then Gamefreak makes it into yet another bug/flying type (of which there were already a lot of by that point). To this day we still have no dragon/bug type pairing at all, despite now breaking into the realms of 1000+ Pokemon.
No normal bug type either, and I feel like Kriketune would have been great for that.

I did a bug run in Platinum, hated it. I also did a bug run in Sword and Shield and actually enjoyed myself. From that run, I loved playing with Galvantula, Golisopod, and Scolipede. Joltik is probably my favorite baby bug type. It's really cute.

Platinum doesn’t have many powerful bug types, pretty much your only hopes for DAMAGE are the lucky Heracross and a Vespiquen

Bug is actually my favorite type! Love myself a max EV trained Golisopod with First Impression and Liquidation, or Volcarona with Quiver Dance and Heatwave.
There is so many ways to deal with bugs weaknesses, and so many ways to X-Scissor the opponent off this battlefield.

I'm not a big fan of the Bug type in general, but diamonds can still exist in the rough. My favorite bugs are the Scyther family, but I also like a few others, such as Heracross, Galvantula, and Ribombee.
Bug types have some great mons. Im a fan. I like Vulcarona, Galvantula, Syther, Pincir, Scolipede (such a good bug horse), Vikavolt (who is also the Gradious series's Vic Viper in pokemon form. ) and many more. Bugs can be great. they just need a good team to work with

I love this because when I was a kid I used to hate bug tipe pokemons thinking they were weak, but a couple of years ago I did a quick "of top of my mind" list of my favourite pokemons for all of the types, surprisingly I could easely remember more "favourite Bug pokemon" than every other type.

Imagine if Bug Buddy (not Freak, I’m not rude) said after Nemona, Arven, and Penny were still mean to him at the end: “I’ve had enough! Forretress, blow them up”! And, he also should’ve told Geeta “You’re such a bad champion that none of them would ever invite you to anything, even a proper battle since your team is so terrible”. Finally, he should’ve said after Mabosstiff was healed, he should’ve said after Arevn’s nonsense, “Heracross, cut the dog in half”.
I think his bugs went on a rampage and made a bloody massacre 😂
Bug is actually one of my FAVORITE types and almost EVERY one of my teams has a bug on it, one even has two bugs on it. I even beat Sword with a playthrough of only bug types (Heracross is my favorite)

I find bug types really underrated and can find a place on any team because of there super effectiveness against types like psychic and dark. I'd have to say my favourites are either volcarona or garvantula just great typing so very powerful mons.

Bugs are absurdly underrated. Sure, they kinda suck in battle, but some of them look cool as hell, like Scolipede, Buzzwole, Pheramosa, and Heracross. My favorite bug? Uhhhhh, Galvantula

Bug is my third favourite type! There's a lot of great bug type pokemon out there, but my favs were always Golisopod and Volcarona
I love the bug type, given my real life adoration of bugs- it's a no brainer! Though I suppose in the past I tended to stray away from them since I always thought of them being too frail. I twice evolved my Caterpie and my Weedle and they can't even take more than two hits?? Alas, I've been trying to do more research on how to utilize bug types in battle, videos like these really help me. Oh yes, and by the by, my favorite bug type pokémon is definitely Volbeat!

RIP Bug Freak, legends say that he still hates being called a bug freak and haunts everyone who insults bug types.
Anyways, my favorite bug types have to be Butterfree and Volcarona. Butterfree because of the Nostalgia I get from using it all the time and Volcarona because they are probably one of the best bug types in existence.

I love bug types. In leafgreen my butterfree was an absolute monster who was both a sweeper and a great support, the little guy was almost unstoppable and my ace all the way to the elite four. Gave me alot of appreciation for bug types and I also try to have at least one mon that’s considered bad on my teams because of it
Scizor is my fav! not only did I go out of my way to hide a figure of it behind other toys so I could buy it later when I worked in retail, but I also have a pair of Scizor bro's on Violet with the younger to the two being shiny :P
I honestly really like the bug type, despite it's flaws. And I gotta give it to my boi Beedrill, collected hundreds of them as a kid, being weirdly obsessed with them.

I like bug types. Some of them such as Beedrill and others are mid game beasts due to their relatively quick evolutions. Even if they may fall off later, they provide a lot of value. I named Beedrill by name because it’s my favorite bug, and I loved its mega form!

I love bug types too! Since childhood, I have been fascinated with buggies, and even though for some reason now I'm scared of some of them, I still love bug-types, even if they aren't the best like Beedrill, or awesome like Volcarona.

Fun fact: Satoshi Tajiri a.k.a. the creator of Pokémon actually like to collect bugs so this is actually a reference to real life Pokémon

I really want to see Bug Freak's story continue in the dlc, the people of Paldea will probably try to get rid of him by sending him on a “school trip” to Kitakami, and Kieran is going to go crazy after losing multiple times to him.
My favourite bug type is Scolipede, definitely!! I love his design, his movepool, his abilities, hell, he's pretty strong on his own! Although, I want to say that Golisopod is also very good, along with Galvantula and Volcarona.
