Dry fly fishing in Montana’s magnificent Big Sky country is perhaps the closest thing to heaven for most any angler in the world. But during the summer of 2015, T-Motion Theater went there and encountered sweltering temps, low water levels and frequent river closures. Add to this obstacle the region’s tremendous number of summer wild fire incidents, and it could have ended any chance of seeing a fish at all. Fortunately, Todd’s longtime Gallatin Gateway friend and fly fishing guide extraordinaire, Brian Kimmel, has a heart for Montana carp.
Kimmel and Adipose Boatworks founder and co-owner, Tracy Allen, took T-Motion into the action of carp on the Missouri River near Helena, Montana. Sit back and take notes because it will soon be on your summer’s bucket list! Thanks again to Kimmel and Allen.

Had carp for Chinese New Years. I like salmon better, but not bad, not bad at all. My daughter's best friend is Chinese, she prepared the fish. She fly fishes for them. (I taught her that!)

I have found the best way to release a carp in North America is about six inches deep in your garden with a kernel of corn in its mouth. You can grow better veggies while reducing habitat damage this way.
Or give it to your dogs. But that's not always an option
@@Adroit1911 Actually you don't want to eat a ton of carp directly because it contains an enzyme called thiaminase. that breaks down vitamin B1. You need B1 to maintain health.
@@BeautifuLakesStreamsBiologists my dog can eat raw eggs because she isn't susceptible to salmonella like I am. Are you sure this information you've shared holds true with dogs, as I've started in my previous reply?
@@Adroit1911 thiaminase is pretty universal. Just don't feed a steady diet of it.

I used to target carp tight lining with threaded corn kernels. Fun to catch the big ones. Some people will eat them but bones are found throughout the meat.

They use corn on hook or corn imitators.
