@@foilarmsandhog You're still not doing bad as students of Architecture, Genetics, and Civil Engineering. I really don't know how such a confusing course prepares people for real life! The Cleveland events manager probably penciled you in but didn't finalise the booking until the last minute. Most people didn't have an inkling. Those that did got sixty seconds' worth of distance run at best and arrived too late. Others just don't give a doomdah. A fine state of affairs to be sure, but at least you got to see the O'hio's while you were in Cleveland.
Everybody's got their story I guess. As an audience member we have our own.
It's all fun and games when you're watching on CZcams from the safety of your own bathroom. It's a whole different story when you're actually in the theatre, thinking "it could be me this time". The relief when you're not in the front row. The constant struggle of avoiding eye contact. And then, in a blink, it happens: "what's your name, sir?". I'm sorry, I get very emotional just thinking about it.

There's a Belgian comedian who made a promotional video from this point of view. He gives his own upcoming show the label that he does not do this, asking the audience what they're called, who they are with, what job they do and that the audience won't get talked to, unless... they start talking to him. 😅 Very funny bit! 😂

Worst of three experiences for me was being told that he liked to pick on people in the front row but he knew I didn't mind sitting in the front row as I was too boring to be picked upon. Ouch.

As a theatre tech, I had never before considered referring to an SM57 as a weapon. Sound checks are going to be fun this week 😂
"When you're face- to- face with another human with only an SM57 microphone in your hand..." As a sound engineer and microphone enthusiast, I appreciated that.
My god, an SM57. That's when you know somebody just had to improvise and use what they got. The big shots got the plushy seats and the luxury of a hot meal, and all the SM58s they could want. But nobody was thinking about what the little guys were doing in some forgotton cellar, just using whatever instrument microphone they could get their hands on. And they were making it work!
The sketch seems personal and actual. I feel it addresses personal fears each comedian faces during career.

What a great line, the end of a sentence "scene cut" and the edit cut starts the dialogue before the footage, all so well done and built around the harrowing life in the line of fire for a comedian on a tour of duty, absolutely brilliantly scripted, acted, filmed and edited, doffs cap to everyone concerned.

Well... some of the young ones think they're ninjas. But they soon realize, if people are going to laugh at you anyway, it's better to be telling jokes rather than explaining how you can kill a man with a can opener.

Yeah, I thought I was a comedian too, before I left about a dozen of my squadron in VM. Trump is funny, Brexit is funny, how the Dutch hate Les Belges is funny, Mark Rutte is funny, but...comparing the angst of stand-up comedians to the angst of those of us with survivor's guilt...not so much.
I know you guys are comedians, but Foil needs to do a drama protagonist role like ASAP 🤩

It's all so abstract and far away when it's just on a screen, or other people talking about it. It hit so different when you experience it in real life. I was there, in Rotterdam, when the bread throwing escalated. Slices going left and right, being thrown back to the stage. It was absolute chaos, the likes of which I have never seen.

I don't know, they say we're defending our country, but after the 10th "Irish lads on the lash" jokes, it starts not to feel that way.
We took down Mayo so many times it's just a wasteland now. Just 3 showed up in Castlebar last time and they were protesting. They just kept shrieking "Mayo for Sam", I still hear their screams at night.

...it's probably the same parallel for domestic law enforcement too. 🤷♀️
