- Fastplants, also known as footplants, are a fun and relatively easy way to add style and creativity to your mountain biking. In this video I'll go through the fundamentals of how to learn fastplants, the best way to set your bike up for learning the trick, and how to progress the trick with more aggressive options.
Do you like jibbing and playing around on your trail bike? Thank check out the RSD Middlechild! It's by far the most fun and responsive frame I've ever ridden, and you can save 5% off any bike from RSD by using Josh5%off on rsdbikes.com

Really enjoyed this video! I like how you mentioned that style is important in your riding, I feel the same way. I've been learning some basic tricks over the last year but never thought about the fastplant. You make it look effortless and have peaked my curiosity in trying it! 🤙 Just subbed - stoked to see more of what you have on your channel! -Nick
Thank you Nick! Just subbed as well, stoked to see another couple out there! And ya coming from BMX I’m much more about the way it looks than how fast I’m going haha. Good luck learning them, let me know if you have any questions 🤙
@@ridingwithjoshandwendy Of course! Thanks for subbing! And that makes sense, I never got much into BMX but I get a lot of inspo from watching it. Stoked to hop on the bike and try it out, I'll let you know if I need some pointers! 👍
Nice!
Would like to see a “how to” bunnyhop with that middlechild. There are plenty of bunnyhop videos but I think the often miss important parts of the technique.
Good to know! Ya my thoughts always been that it seems to be a pretty well covered topic, but I wouldn’t mind taking a go at it!
Lol I thought you meant Faceplant. I’m already an expert at that!
Haha I’m not to bad at those myself 😂
What a cool video I've been looking for this how to and Bever fully get it for my 29" MTB so thx bro hope you could do more of this How to videos or even a how to build dj series think that would be a good idea and there's not a lot of building tutorial auto there
Cheers from Mexico
Glad I could help man! And good idea, I’d love to get a DJ but don’t have the cash right now haha
@@ridingwithjoshandwendy mi mistake hahaha I mean trail building
Haha oh I get it! I would actually love to do that, I love digging!!
@@ridingwithjoshandwendy digging is great! makes you feel better while riding, it makes you feel like you earn the ride
Good stuff Josh… I wouldn’t mind seeing some general jumping and whipping tutorials if you haven’t done so already. 🤙🏻🤘🏻
Good to know! I’m sure Wendy would have fun making one of those, her jump game has been 🔥🔥 lately
@@ridingwithjoshandwendy well I’m a pretty average jumper at best, so I’ll take all the help I can get!
Just got done a bit ago with an afternoon ride at Galbraith… hero dirt all the way is happening right now, so great!! How are the conditions in Bend? Still trying to work on a trip over there, but want to wait until weather improves
Damn, already?! All the good stuff (aka Phil’s) is still pretty muddy, and from what I’ve heard from the locals probably will be for another month or so. How is Galbraith in the summer?
@@ridingwithjoshandwendy yeah dude this time of year can be pretty hit or miss… a week ago there was snow up high and it was super sloppy, then 6 days later it’s the best dirt of the year 😂 may/June are pretty great tho. Summer time, like anywhere can get dry and dusty, but honestly it’s never that bad, and there are so many different trails and a lot of canopy cover so it’s still pretty much fun all the time. If you guys get a chance to come up, I’d dry to do it in that May/June timeframe, especially if it hasn’t rained in a bit. The place is epic!
@@ridingwithjoshandwendy too bad the weather across Oregon is going to be shit it looks like, my wife and kid are in Costa Rica visiting my wife’s family so I’m solo a bit and was thinking of making an Oregon road trip that was to include riding in Ashland, Bend, and the grants pass area. If it’s raining tho I’ll probably put it off for a bit
