@@JSOS made the Comet tonight. I used PF Dry Curaçao instead of Grand Marnier. Not sure I like the bitterness I get at the end from the grapefruit juice, but it has a nice complex taste from the Drambuie and cognac. Would this work with lemon or orange juice instead? I finally have a use for Drambuie other than for a Rusty Nail!
That's the thing with pink grapefruit juice. Mine was more on a sweet side and slightly bitter. You can use lemon juice for a zestier taste, or orange juice will bring it on the sweet side. I think you will love the orange 🍊 juice more. Give it a try 👍

The bitterness is replaced by an exotic passionfruit aftertaste, the cocktail retains the sidecar profile, and the Drambuie's still present! I think I have a new drink to add to my repertiore!
I am glad you learned a lot. Yes, tutorials sometimes can take more time than a real-life scenario. In reality, i can wipe all these cocktails in under 5 minutes 😄
If you love the flavor of licorice, then you’ll love the new recipe of Drambuie. Personally, as a long-time customer of Drambuie, I can’t stand this new recipe Drambuie has authorized. Unfortunately in 2014 Drambuie was sold and the new owners think a licorice-flavored Drambuie is cool. New, boringly-plain label too. Yuck! Apparantly, the new family has never heard the old adage, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Generations of no change and these new upstarts ruin a great thing! What morons!
I have seriously not experienced any drastic change. I am unsure if i have an old stock or if this change affects specific markets. It makes me want to purchase vintage Drambuie for comparison. I may do that. It was an interesting topic to follow.

Yes, I love my Drambuie on the rocks for sure. However, this is a cocktail channel, and the purpose is to share cocktail recipes. No one is trying to convince anyone that you must drink only cocktails. It is simply sharing ideas and giving more choices. This is why there are bars and cocktail bars. We provide the suggestion, and the viewer decides whether to go with it. Cheers!
