    @Nap & the rest. Might already know this...Audi announced officially that they are no longer producing new combustion engines from the ground up - FOREVER - They are only going to Modify and update their existing blocks for emissions standards etc. So for example the EA888 gen x will continue on until Audi goes full electric as planned to become the largest ev producer. This might be a good thing for NapT as the 2.0TFSI will not vary much from here on out. The 2.0 direct injection is becoming somewhat of a standard now in all makes. It will be easier for Nap to adapt to any "modified" 2.0 off the line as he already understands the engine platform very thoroughly. Just an FYI
    Also: I knew Nap was a stand up guy since I've never heard him cuss or use any lude comments ever. Nap you need to start a GO FUND ME account so we can help fund your channel. I'm sure you already know this as you have a business mentality, you need to fund your Channel with more resources. Say you progressively work on the newer platforms rolling out of Audi's line, keeping up with new models, as well as the older EA's like the 888gen2. A well funded business is a promising business...Don't mean to postulate.
    I WOULD FUND you on a consistent basis if you keep the content coming. I'd like to believe others liking and subbing you would do the same!!!
    and Lastly...A Nap can you upload a long version (actual speed) the tear-down just in case...if you can't no worries. Keep it up man!

    Naptown tuner maybe you can explain the thought process of a repair shop that goes to the trouble of making this repair. Pulling engine out tearing it down then re assemble with sub par parts. These engines have several Achilles heals that you educate us on. You would think you would want to set the car up for success and not failure one year or so down the road

    • @CarsandCoding
      @CarsandCoding Před 3 lety +2

      One of 2 things, both = saving money over quality. Either the car was bought by a used dealer from auction non running and dealer wanted to make a quick buck and used chinese parts. Or customer brought car in and mechanic said it will be $4k to replace oem parts or $3500 with cheaper parts and customer chose cheaper parts. The shops I use always tell me they only use what works best and I believe them. I ask about things I hear about on internet like metal water pumps vs plastic and the shop i trust has the experience to know what has worked and what fails. Find a experienced Audi/vwshop in your own town, they are out there. Meanwhile trust NaptownTuner, he is experienced!

    Hey man, I've watched your videos for awhile now. You do things the same exact way I do/my shop does. It's hard to do completely everything on these engines. As I'm sure you know, everything on these engines is a common problem and I can see you try to do everything in your power to make these projects you work on top notch and when they're not because well.....AUDI (not you). You're bothered by it which really shows your dedication to it all. From one tech to another you f'n rock man. Keep killing it Naptown.

I agree with you on that.. that was the first time I saw a bad bearing in an oil pump out of those motors.. wow you went right to the source.. would have liked to see the tear down in real time.. great video.. you’re stuff is really great learning opportunity.. love them please continue with analysis of your videos 👍🏻

Did a pressure test and had a cold start at 18psi dropped to 10 then went to like 5-8ish after fully warm. I dropped the oil pan and found metal shavings and chains rails pieces inside the oil pick up tube. Does this call for a new chain kit and an oil pump?

I hooked a manual oil pressure gauge up warm at idle, it was reading .8 Bar, and spec is 1.2 Bar, did an oil change and replaced filter then ran gauge again it came up to 1.0bar, my mast tech at audi said it should be fine, but its acting up again recently. Randomly if i hit over 4000rpms, my cars EPC light comes on and it says do not exceed rpms of 4000 then automatically shifts it when i get near that in sport mode or in manual mode. Then i come to a stop and low oil pressure comes up again at idle. Im stuck on what to do, and dont have money to have it diagnosed fully by a shop as i am in college. Any Advice please?
