Love how you proclaim your faith and declare your priorities! Wish I’d have purchased a vehicle from you instead. Here’s a like and a comment to support you.
I wish I stayed in Indianapolis.. I was born there... my q5 2012.. no one in flint seems like they can fix my car.. I have spent 2600 on stuff and now my car is shaking really bad with the same problem and I’m praying it’s not something worse...times are not easy for me but God still seems to make away!!!! I love your videos..
Thanks Naptown! glad your a believer!

@Nap & the rest. Might already know this...Audi announced officially that they are no longer producing new combustion engines from the ground up - FOREVER - They are only going to Modify and update their existing blocks for emissions standards etc. So for example the EA888 gen x will continue on until Audi goes full electric as planned to become the largest ev producer. This might be a good thing for NapT as the 2.0TFSI will not vary much from here on out. The 2.0 direct injection is becoming somewhat of a standard now in all makes. It will be easier for Nap to adapt to any "modified" 2.0 off the line as he already understands the engine platform very thoroughly. Just an FYI
Also: I knew Nap was a stand up guy since I've never heard him cuss or use any lude comments ever. Nap you need to start a GO FUND ME account so we can help fund your channel. I'm sure you already know this as you have a business mentality, you need to fund your Channel with more resources. Say you progressively work on the newer platforms rolling out of Audi's line, keeping up with new models, as well as the older EA's like the 888gen2. A well funded business is a promising business...Don't mean to postulate.
I WOULD FUND you on a consistent basis if you keep the content coming. I'd like to believe others liking and subbing you would do the same!!!
and Lastly...A Nap can you upload a long version (actual speed) the tear-down just in case...if you can't no worries. Keep it up man!
Naptown tuner maybe you can explain the thought process of a repair shop that goes to the trouble of making this repair. Pulling engine out tearing it down then re assemble with sub par parts. These engines have several Achilles heals that you educate us on. You would think you would want to set the car up for success and not failure one year or so down the road
One of 2 things, both = saving money over quality. Either the car was bought by a used dealer from auction non running and dealer wanted to make a quick buck and used chinese parts. Or customer brought car in and mechanic said it will be $4k to replace oem parts or $3500 with cheaper parts and customer chose cheaper parts. The shops I use always tell me they only use what works best and I believe them. I ask about things I hear about on internet like metal water pumps vs plastic and the shop i trust has the experience to know what has worked and what fails. Find a experienced Audi/vwshop in your own town, they are out there. Meanwhile trust NaptownTuner, he is experienced!
Hey man, I've watched your videos for awhile now. You do things the same exact way I do/my shop does. It's hard to do completely everything on these engines. As I'm sure you know, everything on these engines is a common problem and I can see you try to do everything in your power to make these projects you work on top notch and when they're not because well.....AUDI (not you). You're bothered by it which really shows your dedication to it all. From one tech to another you f'n rock man. Keep killing it Naptown.
👌 this guy isn’t afraid to learn , share , and keep living
Great work keep it up
thank you so much for showing the quicktime disassembly!! you rock
Man I dont never comment or nothing on nobody shit but if it helps you im all for it fam,I like ya style and ya way of handling stuff(different situations).I ran across a few of ya videos and check them out cause I have a Audi A4 but I see you don't bullshit.Keep it 100 and stay up.
You should stream car repairs on twitch, it would gain a ton more financial backing than CZcams 100%
I don’t agree CZcams is the way to go ...he will get to 100 k subs soon just need patience that’s when good money kicks in
@@user-pt2ke6gl5p you make pennies on youtube compared to twitch, people would literally donate asking car repair questions. Not to mention the paid subscriptions, his audi specific CZcams vids are informative but his growth is capped on CZcams, he has way more growth potential on twitch 100k subscribers for audi specific content? That's pushing it I like him too but c'mon dude lol
What caused the oil pump to fail?my pick up got blocked by too much silicon and damaged my oil pump, had to change exhaust side new vw camshaft and rockers and lifters and put a used spare oil pump with new pick up due to budget constraints and again new rod bearings…will be selling the car hate these chain engines as once opened they give issues , this all happened after forging the engine with after market Mahle racing pistons and fcp rods with new vw timing chain kit (3 chains, guides, 2x solenoid, bridge, tensioner , sprocket, crank pulley and crank bolt…what a disaster wasted a lot of money and this engine is noisy when it’s sick 🤦♂️my TFSI golf CDL engine never gave me so much hassles CJX nightmare in the 7 R…gen 3 tsi engine are painful thanks for the content and sharing 👍👍👍
I love your channel man, I too make a living off VW Audi 2.0’s

I really enjoy watching folks work on cars. I am about to replace the timing chain and tensioner, oil filter housing gasket, rear coolant flange, high pressure fuel cam follower and valve cover gasket on my 07 Audi A4 B7. My plan is to rebuild the engine and turbo before next winter. Thanks for all the info. God bless!!!
Nap I would say I have a pretty good understanding of the Audi motors from the 2.8 5V to the 2.0 TFSi I’ve owned Audi’s for 25 years.. great cars and actually once I figured out how to work on them I liked working on them.. no one should be questioning your opinion on Chinese made after market pistons/rings.. I agree with you on that.. that was the first time I saw a bad bearing in an oil pump out of those motors.. wow you went right to the source.. would have liked to see the tear down in real time.. great video.. you’re stuff is really great learning opportunity.. love them please continue with analysis of your videos 👍🏻
Keep going bro!!! Your info and expertise is invaluable 💪
Just found your channel..an I love your demeanor and how you do what you do. You're definitely an expert/Master mechanic... Love it, keep goingan you'll get there
Thanks. Unfortunately. My 2010 TSI has the same scarring on the lobes. Noticed when installing a catch-can after PCV failed.
Glad this issue came up .
Did notice a sound change in my 2.0 .
Thanks Brother for The”Good “ work !
Peace
What time as your problem?
@@princeiQ1 not understanding your question.
Very helpful a 2.0t master
Great video again!. Good info on chinese pistons and oil consumption issues
Have te exact same problem with my 2014 A5, 2.0 tfsi. Bought it last week and the seller still gives me warranty to fix that issue, hopefully they find the problem as you did.
Craziness... Love the Breakdown. Surprised someone went with a made in China Knock Off Pistons for the rebuild but cool to see what problems come up as a result 🍻😎🤙💯
Naptown all around brother !
Great content keep going and God Bless 💫
I have a b7 a4 2.0t fsi, just bought my son a 11 vw cc with the 2.0tsi for his first car, I know I gotta get the timing chain service done,, have done both belt and chain on my car myself so will probably end up doing it on the vw. Learn a lot from watching your videos man , keep it up
Another great video. Thank you!
Can the oil pump be replaced while the engine on the car, from the bottom without removing the timing cover??
Yes
Hey brother, aint no one judging you.
Nice video !!! Seems in previously repaired Audi engines like life u can’t assume anything. Lol. I dabble in helping friends and neighbors out with vehicle issues. Always having to fix issues caused by other people.
I dig all your information and your videos excellent continent
I think your skill and knowledge of engines is amazing 👍👍 I have an Audi A4 B7, and I have a copy of the engine in my garage to study 😊
Good work, straight and simple as always 👍
Great Content Man I've learned so much from watching your videos. I love Audis and wrenching so all this is gold. AMAZING WORK
GOD BLESS YOU MY BROTHER! “Seek first the kingdom of GOD”
Matthew 6:33
I love your engine videos
Please update us on this car. Thanks for the videos.
Thanks for Sharing Man I'm Stil Learning !
I wish they had port locations around the engine that you could take oil pressure readings
Nice vid from a good man thanks
Hey Tuner, I just got my 1st Audi A4 2.0 turbo engine project. 1 piston rod was broke engine was locked up. Once I got it out and tore down block was damaged so I got a used engine. What all should I replace or check before installing back into the car?
Your videos are amazing man💯👌🏽
Well done buddy¡ gracias amigo muy interesante el video ahi tiene su like saludos de mexico
I would definitely double check balance shafts
Thumbs of for the Lord! 👍
Hey! I have a 2009 Audi A4 getting a p0341 and p164d00 “switch engine and check oil level” but just did an oil change and still doing it. Did a pressure test and had a cold start at 18psi dropped to 10 then went to like 5-8ish after fully warm. I dropped the oil pan and found metal shavings and chains rails pieces inside the oil pick up tube. Does this call for a new chain kit and an oil pump?
You are blessed and will continue to be
Awesome!
Wow, that's quite a bit of lobe wear!
Great videos man
How much do you charge to replace the pistons? I’m gonna need it for my 2014 q5 soon. Thanks
Awesome Vid. 1 question do you reuse the main and big end bolts? the manual states to replace them ?
if so, do you just re torque them to factory specs or nip them up that tiny bit more?
thanks champ
wow., my car has the same problem. I found one rocker arm while replacing the pcv valve. It was just laying there. I imagine that if i remove the cams they will look exactly like yours. Do you think i can replace only the rockers without having to replace the cam? the car is running fine no check engine light but i know something is broken. It will really help me with this one.
Those China pistons do not have the updated oil rings, they need the waffle style rings that they do sell. Im sure you know that tho. I have the china pistons with the waffle style rings. Dont burn a drop of oil after 4k miles.
China parts are junk sorry but that’s just the truth cheapest copies
@@NaptownTuner I contacted rheinmetall-Kolbenschmidt directly before I ordered the china parts to ask about them. They confirmed that they were genuine Kolbenschmidt pistons and rings. There is a factory right in china that make them. I posted the conversation directly with them on audizine forums confirming yes they are from china but they are still genuine parts. There is a press release right on rheinmetall's website stating a join venture with China. They are the same part. I have screenshots of the direct conversation proving it posted on audizine.
@@ripsaw2322 if they cost $35 a piston then I don’t care what brand name it has. I don’t trust it. I don’t trust the quality control, the metal casting, none of it. I haven’t had a piston come apart yet but I’ve had very cheap junk quality “kolbenschmidt” water pumps and camshafts. You always get what you pay for
Naptown i wish u lived near me .i need ur skills in my life rt now hahaha
can clogged vacuum pump screen cause low oil pressure on those engines?
love watching engine diag
Relax Bro. Good job, except the speech at the end.
Amen
under the oil filter what are those (brown) and (blue) sensors for? please specify….
Do you need to put the car into proper timing and lock down the tensior before you remove the valve cover ?
Hello I'm on my second engine and my budget is tight.
I'm going to have to use a set of aftermarket pistons but they have the waffle ring style.
Have you ever used aftermarket Pistons with the waffle style oil ring to see if there any good.
In the early days when you have to use these how many of them did you see brack?
Well thank you for your time and view.
I haven't seen any videos from you recently what are you doing now??
2014 volkswagen passat oil pressure switch - blue + EPC MOD
Not a problem mate. Subscribed and thumped up.
10:22 and on its either ghosts haunting your garage or people racing way off in the distance.
Great video! Again!
Positive comment for yt algo
Man you should blow some air in the oil passages there might be a silicone rubber piece that stopped the oil flow to the exhaust cam. And these oil pumps do get break and do a mess in this type of engins
❤
Cool man
What was that timing tensioner locking thing you used I want one
In Disc Golf.... pro's do form checks....I would love to have The NT go over My B8 Audi A4 Quattro...and see what he thinks of my plan to keep it Super nice.... Please be our counsel for the least ignorant experience.
I bought a used a4 2.0 tfsi last week, and 4 days later low oilpressure lamp came on, and I was so close to my house that I though I could make it with out any issues, but now I think I ruined my cams and shit 😢and I don't even know what caused the low oil pressure, the oil pump maybe? ahhhh.....
So what to change? Hi have the same noise, I checked the oil pump it seems find, what else how I check, the more I drive the car the more is knocking
Thanks for the content
I have use the Chinese pistons and no oil consumption so far , 1000 miles
Ouchh $700 on those pistons ain't no joke
New Sub 🍻🍻🚗thanks for all your time
My motor dont have oil filter at to and has plastic intake oil at bottom can I swap to newer or is older style better
i have low oil pressure at IDLE, and idle only. as soon as i hit the gas the light goes away. I hooked a manual oil pressure gauge up warm at idle, it was reading .8 Bar, and spec is 1.2 Bar, did an oil change and replaced filter then ran gauge again it came up to 1.0bar, my mast tech at audi said it should be fine, but its acting up again recently. Randomly if i hit over 4000rpms, my cars EPC light comes on and it says do not exceed rpms of 4000 then automatically shifts it when i get near that in sport mode or in manual mode. Then i come to a stop and low oil pressure comes up again at idle. Im stuck on what to do, and dont have money to have it diagnosed fully by a shop as i am in college. Any Advice please?
Nice work
Fire 🔥
