I think IP deals are deals that lets their software run on your DDN. Don't know how much they pay, since I never saw one myself.
Reputation is a key factor when you're starting out. As reputaiton not only affects deals and contract work, but also the quality of the employees you're hiring. I recommend ~4-5 stars before hiring employees, as that makes them better quality.

Haha I can imagine that takes a lot of time! Thanks for the comment and again: I totally agree with your observations and the explanation you have about the IP deals sounds very logical, but apparently they are quite rare to find.
i thought an IP deal was where they would buy the franchise of one of your products and have the rights to it and all that,
No that is something different, you can sell your IP's in the releases window. You just sell the entire IP to another company

Its basically that a company buys an IP of you, like you can. But the IP budget never goes
