- Make your own dog Diapers for a fraction of the cost of buying them at a pet supply store.
This video will demonstrate the steps to making them from a purchased pattern I sell at Amazon.

The purchased pattern contains cut-out pattern pieces for SIX sizes: XXS - XS - S - M - L - XL
It ALSO includes instructions to make a male-dog belly band plus instructions to make a reversible velcro-closing pet bandana.

I recommend pre-washing and drying all fabric you plan to use for diapers because they will remain the same size if you do this, otherwise, since you will be using cotton, there is likely to be some shrinkage otherwise.

No, sorry, but my pattern only goes up to fit dogs 90 lbs or under.

Where can I get the pattern from?
Please click on the description of the video (sometimes where you see “more” under the video). There is a link to my Etsy shop called DiNanny where you can purchase it. The pattern has six sizes and you get pattern pieces to cut out. It is a pdf file you download. You do not receive anything via mail. You download using your Etsy account.

When sewing along elastic side, you do not want to stitch the elastic correct?
Sure, you can stitch the elastic. It is not a “casing”. You are pulling it flat as you stitch. Just be extra careful not to pull against the needle. You are only pulling to hold it flat as you allow it to feed naturally under the needle. 😊

Could a beginner do this ? Also, if yes could you recommend a sewing machine?!
The dog diaper is possibly more than a beginner could do. I don’t have any sewing machine to recommend, but for a beginner, you do not need to spend thousands of $$$. Look for a machine that can sew straight and zigzag stitches. It needs to be a machine and not a hand held gadget. It is risky to get one used unless the seller can demonstrate that it does work properly and can include an owner’s manual with it.

I bought your pattern, tried to print off just tge 1st page & the measurements are off by 1cm, no clue how to adjust? help! 😅
Be sure to print at 100% and do not select “fit to page”. It is designed to print on 8.5” x 11” paper.
