Crazy to think how much technique has changed since 2009. Just considering the amount of gliders present compared to just strol now. And the rotational technique of all the American throwers is wildly different than what you see today.
As a thrower myself I was given some ballet lessons just to keep balance and direct power correctly. Thought it was funny first, then realised it's importance.

At a national youth track meet a couple of years ago Christian Cantwell's son won the 9-10 year old division and my son won the 11-12 year old division. It's hard to believe that just 12 years ago both of us were still young enough to compete ourselves.

I never play a shot put during my highschool day.. but during my college from 1st yr to 4th yr i won the championship during our intramurals hahaha i just watch some videos in youtube and practice in just 1week.. i became 4x champion bcoz if youtube.
I used to think Cantwell's style was lazy and bruteforced, now i see how smooth and well grounded it is, i was very ignorant, he still bruteforced it but his technique is much better than what my ignorant 22 year old version of me used to think.
