Skins Hot Dog Record Challenge! Can I Beat A Pro Eater?!

- Today, we’re in Easley, SC at Skins Hot Dogs to take on their chili dogs record challenge. @Beardmeatsfood was here a little while ago to claim the spot and today I’ll see if I can take it from him. He was able to eat 20 chili dogs in 15 minutes 53 seconds so all I have to eat is 21 chili dogs in the same time… sounds easy.
beard speeds up the eating and leave in the banter which he's good at. makes it seem more casual than he's actually taking it. good job.
Ummmm very impressive but a proper timer onscreen would've proved it to be true, no timer on display and lots of editing is very suspect.. Very strange not to have a live timer on display when you're trying to beat a record🤷
I understand. I’m still new at recording these videos so I’ll take that into consideration for future videos. For confirmation, the restaurant manager had has own timer that he was watching that was the official timer. I just bring my timer along to remind me where I am in the challenge. I agree with that people would have believe the time he said if the there was a time on the screen without this guy saying the time people might believe him if they was a time on the screen showing the time

@jwsoton9300 yes, because the manager would give him the title without him beating the challenge... Absolutely, that's exactly how things work, in fact after this record was beaten I hear it was given to a 9 year old kid who ate half a hotdog.
C'mon mate, if he got the title in the store it's because he did it. Just like beard heavily cuts and edits his video and usually doesn't have a physical timer on the table for you to stare at but instead has an edited timer which could literally say any time on it...
Just congratulate the fella and move on.
You have to remember that Beard is a pro and trains for this stuff. He made it look like a walk in the park because it was easy for him, BUT it was easy for him because of his training. I'm sure he could crush the record you set, either time and/or amount if he knew it ahead of time. That definitely isn't a knock against you, what you did is beyond impressive, but he stopped at 20 because he had the record and he had about an hour to spare on the old time. Good luck making it to Coney Island! Just keep practicing and one day you can make this look (and feel) easy too. Nice video!

yea I've noticed Beard does tend to stop once he's reached a new record when he could easily keep going...there was 1 video where he jokingly said how he didn't wanna dethrone the current record holder cause they were a hometown guy lol But the op is correct you did an amazing job William considering the fact that you aren't a professional eater like Mr. Beard, lol hope you get to the level you want, good luck
I think beard could do 20 in under 10 minutes but he was respectful and left a time that could still be challenged. That being said, well done for beating the record.

Just watched the Beard video today, and now this one popped up. Impressive chili dog eating! Actually, you only had to beat the amount to win. You could have been over on the time, and it still resets the record. If someone ties you, with a quicker time, then of course, they would have it..
And if that ever happens, I’ll be back to defend my title!

More practice eating dogs to figure out your pace rate/time per minute etc eating comfortably, helps you easily figure out how much time you have for banter.

kewl ..... I've eaten many a hot dog at Skins original ,,, really really kewl
stopped what I was doing to watch this... guessing those were 120grams-ish each, so like 5.5 to 6 pounds minimum, plus liquids... Not an easy feat!
Not ever challenge has to be about speed, plus it's good to leave a challenge that someone else has a chance to beat in the future!
For speed contests I like to do 1 pound challenges and see how fast I can improve on them, trying to eat a 400 gram pizza in under 1 minute... practice it twice in a row... or easier food I like to speed eat is lasagna and burritos.

I’ll tell ya like I told everyone else. I’m deeply sorry for the timer issue. I’m new at CZcams and I’m doing my best to fix the problem. If it would make you happy, I’ll go back someday soon and beat my own record with a timer because this actually was pretty easy compared to other challenges I’ve done.

Yeah I’m still new at editing videos and getting everything set up. I had a little timer beside me and the owner was keeping an official timer. I’ll try to fix this in future videos. 👍🏻
Stay humble many pro eaters will leave room for others to beat them because they want it to be still achievable look at many top eaters like Joel and man others they don't want to kill it because they can they want local not competitors to try if they kill it from the get go the challenge for the restaurant becomes pointless. It needs to be obtainable from the non competitive perspective so keep that in mind!!! I followed good luck with your journey!
Trust me I’m humble. Beards on another level and I mention that in the video. I still have a long way to go, but in the same token, I could’ve easily done 28 in the same time period. Had my timer beside me. The owner was watching the official timer. I’m still new at making videos so I know now I need to have a visible timer. I’ve been doing these challenges for years and never needed to worry about an on screen timer, but I’ll do my best to try to fix this and be as transparent as possible. In the meantime, if you don’t believe me, you can visit the Skins fan page on FB where the owner posted about me breaking the record or you can call them and check. Be well✌🏻

Also, I used iMovie for all the editing which only allows you to speed things up by 2Xs. I don’t think you understand how time works. The challenge took me less than 16 minutes. Most of it sped up 2Xs would yield a clip a little over 8 minutes long (due to parts where I slow down) then there was the intro and some interview stuff after the challenge which is why the video is the length it is. Dude, I’m brand new at this. I just ordered a timer and it’ll be present in all the videos from now on. I’ll even refer to it as the acid man if that’ll make you happy.

If you are doing an eating challenge, talking is not needed. Just crush that food, talk later.
If I’m able to accomplish both, I try to. It just feels polite to the company I’m sharing. There have been times, however, where I apologize and have to tell whoever that I need to shut up and eat!
