I know it's an old video, but, I wanted to say thank you. I picked up the smaller version for my Pew Pew tools, + cleaning equipment, yesterday.
Perfect size for all my equipment.
And a nice box, + price for it too.
Far better than a Duffle.
Loved that you showed exactly what + what size weather-striping to get.
Picked it up at the same time. 😁
Thanks again.
And have a good one. 👍👍👍
Outstanding! Thank you for posting.
Great DIY idea! Thanks.
I’ve used the medium and smalls for years and they have stood the test of time. Great review!
You went over everything and showed great examples thank you!
Great Video, you really covered all I needed to know. Thanks!
Thank you for saving me the time and hassle of searching and ordering the rubber seals!
Thanks for showing that demo. I'm going to pick up 2 today and seal'em both up myself. It's a good and cheap alternative to keeping stuff dry that don't really need to be kept totally waterproof. That's what my pelican cases are for. thanks again!
Love that you went over the features as well. Showing what all could fit in it really helped me since I'm more of a visual person. great video!!
Great information!
Thank you
Thanks for the info., just bought boxes at Academy for $25! Great storage for back of truck.
Thanks for this tip. I going to give it a try.
I sealed up the four that I had. Can’t wait to try them out. I was thinking about turning one upside down in the tub.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! HD as you said has this model for $29 or the one with the seal for $45 plus shipping (not in stores). I'm planning on 2 anyway... so $29+$29+$6 or $64 total is well better than $90 plus shipping. Thanks for saving me $$$.
These storage trunks all used to have big o-rings installed on them(that's why they have the groove is there).
The first two trunks i bought a few years ago had the o-rings but the third i bought a little later didn't. When i called Plano to complain they said they are not including the o-rings any more despite the price remaining the same. They told me that they would sell me one as an accessory. So basically Plano wanted to cut their costs by quietly eliminating the o-ring to increase their profit.
Very helpful...thank you
Awesome thank you
Great video! Thank you!
Appreciate the comment. Thank you for watching!
Good video thanks, I need to get one of these for my hunting gear
Thank you!!!
Use this for work to keep all my big blueprints
Nice explanation of adding the seal.
For the life of me, I can't understand why they don't make these with moveable/removable dividers!
This is what I'm doing tomorrow
This storage container looks like a good bargain. Two things that I would like to have (if I had one) would be a hinged lid so it can be opened and closed without completely removing the lid. The second thing would be a smooth lid so rain water couldn't pool on top. I'm looking for a robust storage container to put into my truck bed, for storing clothes, when I go camping and then remove when I get back home. Good review and smart idea for weather proofing. Thanks for posting.
For whatever reason, the olive green version of this box (also 108 quarts) does have a hinged lid. However the lip that goes around the inside of the box would not support a weather seal as shown in this video due to a much different design.
Hinge lid is usually bad due to bad hinge. Good hinge is expensive.
They appear to have changed the design on the newer bins. I just got mine a few days ago, went out & got the weatherseal. Went to put it in. Opened the lid...there is no inner rut or valley on the inside of the upper lid anymore like there is on the one in the video. There is only a small roughly 1/8" lip that hangs over the lower part of the bin now.
Ill have to look into this. I hope this is not the case. Thanks for letting me know.
It is indeed the case. Bummer. I also bought the insulation and it won’t work in any way like the videos I’ve watched.
@@dwmose don't know if you live near Canada but I just now bought one from canadian tire that is as shown in the video here and is good to go for the seal described.
Hi, how well does this do in summer months with 100 degrees outdoors in sunlight? Thank you so much!
I will try and do some tests this summer.
Are these somewhat dustproof without the gasket?
How was drag and wind noise witht the trunk on thre roof? I am thinking of using a similar system.
Thanks for the video!
Drag was definitely there, but i was also loaded up with other camping gear in the jeep. I didn't notice any addition wind noise with it up there.
What type of knife is that? I want the exact same one, love the compactness of it.
Gerber Air Ranger, Fine Edge Black G-10
I was just wondering how I would do that when i was checking these boxes out.
what are the interior dimensions? looks like the handle areas cut into the length quite a bit?
I can get those measurements for you later today.
volume???
Use mine for dry food storage camping and it failed the 🐜 got in so other than that it's ok
Did you have a seal on yours when the ants got in?
