- Meant to talk about this during my last video, but forgot to include the original footage. Here is a little addendum, @vonketteringham's last video reminded me of my omission as he spoke about his cupboard clear out efforts.

A nice job of storing everything away, will make finding things much easier.
Thank you. Still much to do. A lot of the "stuff" is in generalized boxes, and I haven't really taken stock of what everything is yet. But at least I can broadly find what I want, quickly.
I woke up this morning and realised I had made yet another boozy late-night purchase of wargaming figures. My storage space for painted and unpainted figures, terrain, wargames rules etc long ago overflowed and exceeds my capacity. I'll never get rid of anything but at the same time no longer have a viable storage solution. I'm always struck by how the hobby can be so contemplative and meditative, as you acknowledge in your channel name, whilst at the same time anxiety ridden with the hoarding obsession.
Indeed, I had the same thought the other day. There is a sort of panic that sets in, "what if these miniatures disappear from the market? Must buy now." Followed by the immense post-retail-therapy come down and almost immediate regret of a sort. Depression-euphoria-depression, all in mere moments.
I had this with the Crimean War after watching your videos on the topic.
I wonder, before the internet, if we were this way inclined? I imagine having to fill out mail order paperwork made purchases less immediately gratifying. And waiting several weeks for things to arrive likely blunted the dopamine rush of the purchase. Though, based on what I have seen amongst older collectors, I would say no. We just appear to be hoarders, in the main.
Watched your film adaption video last night whilst sorting through piles of lead. A real treat, Ralph, I learned a lot. I have some tangential thoughts of my own, specifically related to "All Quiet", as I recently read "Fire Eater" and "Storm of Steel".
I must admit I had never heard of Ernst Junger and Storm of Steel until after I made that video. I learnt of him from my friend with whom I walk on Dartmoor. I think I will forego reading it for the time being - although he changed his opinions when he was much older, his mystical outlook and military fervour suited the Nazi philosophy and he was really the opposite of Erich Maria Remarque. @@ZenMiniPainting
