    I remember dying of laughing in front of the TV at the time and my parents were like "what's wrong with our daughter ?" because there was no subtitles and they don't speak english (we're french). And I'm still in love with this, it's so Eurovision ! XD

    I love how this video is still relevant today. The Mans' suit was a nod to Sakis Rouvas a Greek competitor who always wears something white and shows some chest and Petra's was a nod to the Swedish winner from 1999 Charlotte Perrelli "Take me to your heaven".

    The old man in the beginning, playing an "old instrument" (actually a weapon) is the on called "Kvinnaböske", referring to the village he grew up in. It's his artist name. Famous in the older generation. I don't think anyone non-swede got that one.

    So did you ask Viacomm/EBU if you could get access to this video? I'm really curious to know, because these rights things are tricky waters to navigate. I know "reaction" videos are protected under "Fair Use", but not everyone observes that.
    Did you notice Loreen hammertime-ing it across the stage? It's my favorite part! Can't wait until you react to Poland/Ukraine 2014. Then you'll understand the hamster wheel and butter churner.

      just shows how "memorable" was the act..if i remember correctly it has something to do with claims from some countries that Eurovision is only for women and gays, and they tried that year to show that it is for straight males too...i think it was a rumor or something...but yeah, might be Poland...the song was meh...act was controversial though...

    Yeah... Regarding the "love and peace" themes - Ukraine did just the opposite and won that year, it was wonderfully ironic. 🤣
