The fact that they did not only put on all the makeup (takes like 4 hours?) for the actual performance, but also for this dress rehearsal is crazy

omg I hated Ukraines song I though Russia was going to win.
This makes me kinda angry... I know that in real-time it's hard to make it look good,but they CLEARLY organized this ONLY for the viewers that are NOT in there. Yes, for us who watched it in a video form it was brilliant, but for everyone in there it just sucked. Seeing cameos just coming in at the last second for the camera to record them and then stay there not doing anything... Listening to the singer singing about old women baking bread and have these women far in the background opposed to us who had a clear view of them in the video....
And the ironic part is that most (if not all) of the countries had a commercial break at that point, so we didn't even watch it live! You made it for the viewers at home and these people weren't watching it.
And while it was so professionally done for the viewers at home, for all the people there watching it live, it was amateurish.
I saw one semifinal live for ESC 2016, and trust me, the whole show is completely made for the viewers at home. Russia that year for example, if you don't see it exactly from straight ahead, all the effects just look silly and not impressive at all. Armenia as well, there was a lot of hologram effects laid on top for viewers but nothing of that seen in the arena. I think you just have to understand that it's a TV show for 200 million people, and live show only for around 10-15 000 people
Yeah, I know. I've been in some events that had TV coverage. They don't care for people who are there, just for the audience on their TVs.
