    I experienced the same spotting on my Congo when I found it getting too close to direct light. My small space made it tricky to find a spot and I didn't realize it was getting too much morning light until I noticed the speckling pattern, once I moved it, I didn't experience any worsening of spots!

    I propagated my philodendron congo and it is now planted in soil with roots. Do you know how long it should take to see new growth/leaves? Thank you!

    My plant has the same spots. I had googled it and the result that I got was when water sits on the plants it causes this to happen. So I make sure to wipe my leaves down.

      @@TylerMossop when the leaves unfurl. I find that there are water droplets that are present. That’s when the damaged happens.

    I think the spots are inflorescence nectarine that have spotted the leaves. I thought I had a disease on some of my philodendrons but after watching a Pretty In Green video he says it’s normal in the philodendrons.

    Hey Tyler...new to your show & enjoying it. As I mentioned, I grow in LECA. Can you suggest to me, 3 Philos, that would do well & that I would be successful with in LECA. Also, kindly keep in mind, a price range!!!

    Great video! It's tough finding content on this one. I have my plants in my entryway which is large with a high, SE window. It's a high ceiling, lots of space,etc. Is there a humidifier that would help in just my plant area without encouraging mildew? I get mildew on my terra cotta every time I water.

      I dont think it was but dont know for sure! New growth doesnt have those spots

    • @StasiaPenguin
      @StasiaPenguin Před 10 měsíci +2

      Those spots are extra floral nectaries, not mosaic virus. These are just spots where the philodendron produces sugary sap to attract beneficial insects. Sometimes they do this if there is a pest as the beneficial bugs they are looking to attract will eat pests, but some philodendron just produce them regardless. The philodendron narrow is a good example. The spots will look worse if you are giving the philodendron higher light as the spots will burn I’m higher light as the sap droplets essentially act as a magnifying glass. Moving the philodendron out of direct light may minimize the look of the EFNs.
