OUR DREAM CAME TRUE: CRUSADER WARS = CK3 + TOTAL WAR ATTILA

- I CAN ONLY SAY WOW! This is an absolutely astonishing piece of modding work, and does what no other mod before it has done - managing to combine Crusader Kings 3 campaigns, with Total War battles. Crusader Wars is only in a very early stage, but is still so much fun and just so darn impressive. The fact that this is even possible says how moddable Crusader Kings 3 and Total War Atilla really are, and I have to not only commend the modders for achieving this piece of art, but Creative Assembly and Paradox Development for opening up their games like this. Make sure to check the mod out on Steam!
Crusader Wars will only improve with time, but is even now on Day 1 an instant masterpiece. Let me know your thoughts in the comments, and make sure to like the video and subscribe to the channel if you enjoyed it :)

Oh wow, thats amazing! I am gonna check it out now!
I do want to say I find it off-putting when people ask me to like and subscribe within the first 40 seconds of a video. When it's the first time I've watched a content creator that is way too soon to decide. It just makes me decide then and there to not do those things even if I enjoy the video eventually.
wtf...never thought this is possible
When asked in the future what was the biggest IT breakthrough of 2023 many will name ChatGPT, but we will know the truth.
LOL so true
Chat gpt is gonna get me my masters degree
@@adsumabyss lol same, its way too easy now, we are right in time before this exploit gets patched brother.
@@adsumabyss sounds like a massive risk
@@wildfire9280 I'm only joking , I can't afford a master's degree lol
this modders are geniuses. It's takes a lot of scripting to be able to achieve such a mechanism between 2 games.
Absolutely! It's very impressive
The game to conquer them all!
Why on earth would they pick Attila of all games, man? lmao...It's an unoptimized POS. Even with my spacer tech PC, it still runs stupidly slow...And this is like years after launch. Honestly they should've done Rome 2 instead.
@@JohnSmith-bs9ym
Fair enough
Imo he has to get a job in one of those dev-teams
I feel like these teams should be sponsored and encouraged by SEGA, the talent and dedication here is off the charts!
Couldn't agree more!
last thing you want is those corporations getting there grubby paws on good modders. never ends well.
I have a feeling these modders a pro game devs who've been at it for years. And they use their time and resources on such passion projects as play testing for new features and future games. No wat some indie modder out there, juggling jobs and school and make something like this by getting a couple random dudes together to contribute on discord.
Noooo pleeeese, keep Sega and all shorts of money-eater publishers away of our beloved games, look what was the result on Rome2 an even to CA itself
@@sztypetttoyou describe us well with "No wat some indie modder out there, juggling jobs and school and make something like this by getting a couple random dudes together to contribute on discord." :)
If only CA and Paradox would look at this and its popularity and would work in a collab game with the best of both expertises.
the dream
Inspiring.
add some bannerlord flavor in there and you have an unbeatable game haha
CA has given up on historical games and is now releasing fantasy rubbish and not even good fantasy like LoTR or GoT. Paradox are milking their fans in the form of a 30 Euros DLC every 3-4 patches on their successful grand strategies like CK3 and EU4. Wishful thinking aside, even if that was ever to happen they would probably ask for your firstborn in exchange and half your mortgage.
2303 people have downloaded this mod. if your idea is that CA and Paradox should do things based on popularity they definitely wouldnt act on this.
Oh no... oh damn... so, you're saying two of my largest time sinks just joined forces to completely alienate me from my family and friends? These modders are too powerful to be allowed to continue without international oversight.
Fr fr no cap on God this shit be bussin

Just from a coding/moding/mechanical level this is so insanely interesting to me. I've never heard of a mod linking two different games together like this before, and it's so insanely cool!!
Same thing existed for mount and blade already
Slitherine did it before with 2 different games in Field of Glory: Empires and Field of Glory II. Though the battle sequence is not as good as total war, it is still impressive.
It's incredible :)
@@JamesBu11 beat me to it mate. Yeah, the battles in FoG II are turn-based, but map battles in FoG: Empires, in a very similar system to the one presented here in Crusader Wars, can be exported and played in FoG:II, and the subsequent results of the battle then exported back to FoG: Empires.
I wrote this under another comment.

Great idea 🙂
If they polish this mod more, we will have a perfect mix of strategy and epic battles.
Definitely!
This is the future of gaming: one game integrating into another totally diferent one.
The future is now!
Killing annoying vassals was never easier :)
Jokes aside, this is next level moding, we've just entered new era!
AI charge into the plalanx for best results
LOL - love it!
Maybe they assign a morale level related to how much the knight likes you?
Eager vassals, reluctant vassals. . .
Holy hell, this is like a fever dream coming true!
You said it!
Seriously haha this is like what I’ve been imagining since I was a kid
The mad lads did it... they actually did it...
PDX + CA = one ultimate strategy to rule them all
I am constantly amazed at what modders are able to achieve. This is simply an excellent work of art they've managed to do.
Exactly i would never be able to pull this off this is genuinely impressive
I wonder if corporations or companies have ever co-developed a game? would be awesome if CA and Paradox reached some kind of deal with the other and they both built a game like this.
This is amazing.
Looks like it's back to CK3 .
Time for the Welsh Dragon to fly again.
You could literally do this for the Dawnless Days as well while we wait for a campaign.
omfg I didn't even think of this
Amazing how far modding has come. Combining games is the stuff of dreams
wow thats amazing, will definitely try this down the road
Wow. Just wow. This is amazing. The work and skill that went into creation of this mod.
You cover everytime top content! Love your work Andy
I had heard about this mod before but this level of detail just astounds me that is insane. Hopefully they make it stable, I can’t imagine it was easy to combine two games like this.
Absoutely excellent finding! I didn't even know about this until your video today. Great that every unit you recruit in CKIII will match in TW. The modding skills here are so good both companies should hire these devs. This is stuff you expect of a very high quality. Something that Paradox/CA never did, we're getting something very good.
True! Thank you so much!

Just subscribed because you showed me this Mod, thanks bro bro.
If CK3 can make a battle simulator in it (not necessarily as deep visually as total war attila) , that would elevate CK3 to a hight never seen before in strategy gaming history , think maybe representational units with 2d strips similar to Ultimate General games but in medieval times of course , I hope paradox take some notes from this video if they see it , and fully develop an overhaul to battles as they are the weakest part of any paradox game , which shouldn't be the case since battles are what war is all about.
Also maybe add some other features to warfare as many in the community are recommending , like supply lines , special tactics with sieges like building siege ramps , trenches , tunnels under the walls , maybe if you're intrigue is high enough you can sway a gate guard to open the gates to your troops like in the siege of Antioch in the first crusade and have it all managed by a war council similar to the royal court , but in this case it would serve an actual purpose other than showing off your artifacts and other nonesense lol.
This concept is really massive and can make CK3 and other paradox games (if implemented in them) eat the market , as historical players of total war are fed up with CA bullshit and the shift of their games from acutal strategy and tactics to stats and visual spectical.
Great video by the way mate.
Thanks for your video! Just subscribed :)
this was cool for ck3 and bannerlord. But this is even better.
My thoughts as well! Kudos to both teams, but this is more up my alley, personally ;)
@@AndysTake I couldn't agree with you more :)
@@AndysTake imagine if they did this with rome 2 for imperator and napoleon for victoria 3. It would actually fix all my grand strategy itches tbh.
Wow this is amazing. I tried doing this without mods myself once. I'd play ck2, when I got into a battle, I'd make a custom battle in MTW2 and then edit my save file to reflect the results of the battle. This isamazing work!
Keenly watching this mod. If it gets polished we’ve got the perfect strat game on hand
Indeed
Paradox and CA its time to collaborate for the greatest game ever
currently playing ck3. This is amazing. ck3 causes much eye strain, so a relief to battle like that will be great. this is Amazing.
Played and loved this!!
Dude I love these people 😭 Thank you thank you thank you❤
This is just incredible. This is exactly what I wanted for CKIII and I can't believe someone actually pulled it off.
What a brillant idea... Awesome!
This is actually mind blowing. Guess I know which two games I get this summer sale.
This is giving me goosebumps.
Your brain is working!
Holy Smokes! I can't wait until next saturday. I've got 5 days off and this looks like a great way to spend that long weekend.
Just a small thing. I hope that when in CK3 you siege a holding and an enemy army is approaching, that army would appear as enemy reinforcement at the siege battle.
Going to give this one a go for sure! It looks awesome
This idea is amazing, the only issue I have is having to close each game after a battle/beginning a battle. My computer loads both slowly, but once loaded they play smoothly. I can imagine a 3-5 min wait between both for me :( Still, pretty damn amazing! Oh and they also did this with Bannerlord and CK3, but you probs already knew that anyway :P
Good thing it's only for battles you're leading, and not EVERY battle
Do
I have to buy the dlc for it to work ?
That's such a cool idea. It reminds me very much of the mechanic in Field of Glory Empires where you have the option to play battles in Field of Glory if you have that installed also.
I had recently thought of the possibility of mixing a game like ultimate admirals dreadnoughts with something like the great war mod for napoleon total war. Although I do not have the ability nor technical expertise to do it myself I knew there were people out there who could do stuff like this. Amazing what people can do when they put their abilities to work on things they are passionate about. Bravo to the creators of this mod.
Absolutely, massive bravo!
Thank you Andy and thank you Modders this is every strategy players dream coming true theanks to you.
Just epic ! Jumping from CK3 campaign dense gameplay to Total War commander on the field of battle and back again is a dream come true.
From my experience it also makes me appreciate peacetime. Its less stressful and i can actually calm down a bit, especially with TnT now.
Neither team will take this on, it will forever be a massive modder’s success
As much as I enjoy Total War's battles, I find that in campaigns I usually attack from a position of overwhelming strength, so simply auto-resolve the battles and skip half the game to focus on the overworld map gameplay which isn't as robust as a Paradox game.
Yes, there is no limit to perfection! Huge prospects are opening up!
4:59 - That colour contrast of Red vs Blue is so good
I'm glad I found this channel take my sub sir.
With the BannerLord-CrusaderKings mod out of date, I hope Total War fans can enjoy this
For a mod, this looks incredible!!!
Paradox and SEGA must partner up by hiring those modders
Hopefully Paradox and CA see the awesome work these guys did for CK3 and Total War Atilla
thats unbelievably cool
7:34 "I'm extremely hard for this mod"??? I mean same, but I just wasn't expecting that hahaha
Attila’s Ancient empires with an ancient world/Alexander’s invasion mod for CK3 would be majestic
This makes me want to buy both of these games
I don't know if the modders have done this, but I had this fusion mod idea a while ago and theorized you could go even further and create a 'meta' application that could dynamically mod Total War: Attila's files before each battle to transfer relevant graphics such as faction logos from CK3 into the Total War UI and potentially even reconstitute unit models to have the correct faction logo on their shields and such. Even more ambitious would be to develop a mapping from CK3 character faces to Total War face models and thus have your commander character accurately represented as a general in the battle. I'm sure you can think of more ways of customizing battles in such a way. The possibilities for customizing the battles are endless with dynamic modding, the battles would be even more immersive, varied and detailed than those in normal Total War mods. Every single battle would essentially be like playing a unique Total War mod tailored just to that battle.
This is so cool. This might become the best strategy game ever
I want to cry with joy.
WHAT THE FUUUUUCK WHY MODDERS FO THIS BUT A WHOLE COMPANY CAN'T OMGGGGG THIS IS THE DREAM
THIS IS LEGENDARY!!!!!!!
Awesome vid, I liked and subscribed. Question for you, what is your set up?! Those graphics were next level. What are you running CK3 on?
This is awesome
This may actually convince me to buy...
That's hella cool
Mayor of Horrortown
You should take a look and review the Hegemony series some day (Gold: Wars of Ancient Greece, Rome: Rise of Caesar and III: Clash of the Ancients), they are an awesome but underappreciated gem of series that combines aspects of Total War and Paradox Grand Strategy games.
I'd like to!
couldnt play more than som minutes!
The only thing im worried about is that my PC will explode if i try playing both at the same time
it closes down ck3 and opens up attila. You wont be running both at once.
it suspends CK3, but it's still running in the background, just not as intense, I believe
@@AndysTake aha thx 🙏
Unfortunately Game Developers dont even see these amazing idea's that could have been implemented into one single game! Instead you see Total war Pharaoh 💀...
I am not a CK player, but modders should implement a system where you are not allowed to activate the TW battle if your general/vassal is not enough loyal to your king. As mentionned by a previous comment, it would be too easy to kill annoying vassals.
this is so cool
Victoria 3 and TW: Napoleon anyone?
same mind
oh yeah, or march of eagles by paradox with napoleon total war mod "la montee de l'Empire" or napoleonic tw III... that would be magical
CA + Paradox = Now I live in harmony.
I wish they could also do this with Imperator: Rome and Total War: ROME II; Imperator Wars!
nice work
6:30 so you're telling me I can download Fallen Eagles and play with a fantastic Attila Overhaul Mod and play those battles? Epic
Well not yet, but hopefully in the beta when it's compatible with The Fallen Eagle ;)
Now that is cool!
Absolutely!
Are you kidding me. I hope this idea goes mainstream. I’ve always dreamed of combining a game that focuses on the macro like HOI4 and the micro like Steel Division 2. I understand that making such a game would be quite the project. I hope Paradox would incorporate the 2. They have added so much customization with the designers. I just think it would be awesome to be able to control what you have built in a actually battle.
These modders have been improving, saving and re igniting games for years.. we all owe them our deeply sought hours in these amazing worlds they are creating.. Even better than the originals.. tku gonna try this one out ...
Looks promising. So we need actually both games to play the mod (CK3 and Attila)? Did I get that right?
Indeed :) Plus the mods if you want the units to match, but those are of course free :)
God bless modders this is crazy
First it was CK3 and Bannerlord. Now it's CK3 and Total war.
This is what ive been dreaming of
fantastic
Wow. Just incredible…
\So effin' good. Thanks Andy
My pleasure, Alex :)
This is basically the Field Of Glory Empires mechanics. Nice
Since we have "Medieval 3 at home" that is often good enough, what I really want is an EU4 or V2 combo with a Shogun 2 mod that ranges from Pike & shot to line infantry.
this is insane, its the first time I see a mod that combines two games
Wow!
I wish big companies would sometimes come together to work on a common project, sharing the profits.
Impressive, indeed
this... is... revolutionary
I have been having this dream for men of war assault squad 2 + star wars empire at war
essentially replacing the very outdated allmost age of empiresesque ground battles with actually leading armies
i had the same dream for Hearths of iron 4+ men of war assault squad 2
This is actually wild.
How did they even accomplish this? Like from a technical perspective how is this possible? This is insanely impressive
Marvelous
Great, now your grandson may be able to complete the full run that you have began.
What a glorious mod.
