I am Man utd fan to the core. But I sincerely wish Leeds United to play in EPL . Never to be relegated again. Looking forward to Man utd vs Leeds United matches both Home and away.
The passion which Leeds United have reminds the passion of Man utd fans.
Both the club's fans passion is unrivaled by any other club.
Love Man utd and admire Leeds United.

Yes mate always a huge game the biggest game for us. We had some great battles in the 60s and 70s matt busby and don revie etc. then in the early 90s still cant believe we gave you Eric Cantona. hopefully see you next season been to long without the Leeds-Man United rivalry

You're the sort of fan that makes this game great. Yes! Man U vs Leeds United. The world just isn't right without that fixture twice a season (at least). Historically Man U have the most wins, but we'd love to start evening out that statistic a wee bit. It's always a classic. Looking forward to the two great clubs going at it again. I can't think of a more notorious rivalry at the top level. Cheers!

Not quite a one-club city - there's the rugby league clubs. Soccer was late to take off in Leeds and one senses that the authorities wanted to hurry through their place in the league so they wouldn't lose a major population centre to rugby league. It probably accounts as to why the club was slow to accrue fanatical support even during the Revie era,

So you've never actually seen NUFC win a major trophy?(Unless you saw them win the Fairs Cup in 1969, which I did see as a matter of fact. I also saw Leeds win that one twice as well as the League 3 times, F.A. Cup and League Cup. Also saw them cheated in both European Champions Cup 1975 and Cup-Winners Cup 1973 by bent refs.
As a matter of fact, bonny lad, my wife is a Geordie as are all her family, and I lived in Newcastle for 5 years in the 70s, and watched NUFC when their front 3 were Supermac, John Tudor and Jinky Jimmy Smith so they have a place in my heart, but all the Geordies I know accept that Leeds have been a successful club up to the problems caused by mismanagement in the mid 2000s. They also acknowledge that NUFC have been largely since unsuccessful since the 1955 FA Cup win and other than an exciting spell under KK have never looked like winning the Top league since their last success in 1927. Talk about living on past glories!
      Auf Wiedersehen Pet.

Manchester United and Leeds United are 'rivals' only be historical English references. The English War of the Roses. Lancaster vs Yorkshire. Though Manchester United are not the only team in Lancashire area - Leeds seem to target Manchester United cos of their success and can remain relevant of Manchester United's name.

not at all its an historic football rivalry always has been always will be. Throughout the 60s and 70s the battles were fierce played in title deciders and 3 FA Cup Semi-finals. 1965, 1970 and 1977 then in the early 90s. Leeds v Man United was huge we won the league in 91-92 then we gave Eric Cantona away which started Man Uniteds dominance in the PL. in the last 15 years it has diminished somewhat due to our long absence from the top flight but if we go up the rivalry will re-ignite again no doubt
