We back baby. MOT
One thing maybe worth mentioning is that when Leeds were relegated to League One in 2007, they began the following season with -15 points, but they went on to reach the playoff final, only to lose to Doncaster.
didnt know that
I remember this. As a Leeds fan I was devastated that we lost but pleased we even made it to the play offs
You need to remake this as 'The Rise & Fall & Rise of Leeds United'
@Leeber GruberYou're right, though looking at recent signings and having El Loco at the helm it's going to be an exciting season. I have a lot of hope
@Leeber GruberYou're right, though looking at recent signings and having El Loco at the helm it's going to be an exciting season. I have a lot of hope
Eh, maybe in a few years, when leeds (mayyyyyyyyyyybe) get to at least top half of the table, if not top 7. But definitely not now, Leeds have got a lot of work to do if they wanna challenge for European football.
@@papereater8116 I don't think it'll take a few years to get to the top half of the table, we're almost there now
@@zakl940 it will if all their players are injured
Call me dramatic, but the haunting background music stresses how money driven the game has become today
I loved the music too. And the end was legendary by Tifo, especially following Leeds' promotion:
"So Leeds United, still a big city football club of great traditions, play on in the Championship. In the Elland Road ground that they do not own, their large body of long-suffering supporters wondering how it all went so wrong, still singing of the glory days of old".
Some of the people on Arsenal Fan TV needs to watch this. It puts everything into perspective.
Troopz 2019: "We could be the next Leeds United".

@Roseni Andrew Innit Lol why is he so angry đđđđ
Please explain the financial system of Real Madrid and Barcelona and the reason why they are considered "too big to go down" financially even when they're still have huge debts
Along with Manchester United as well. They've essentially become global icons. A lot of science goes into the sport now a days so mistakes similar to Leeds virtually seem impossible to happen. Plus all these massive investors are only investing in the teams cause they know theres a guarantee to make more money.
There's a video explaining why Man United's debt doesn't matter on the channel already.
Madrid have apperently equalled out their debt. And a few years back they had financial issues, but perez saved that. About the debt: Debt itself isnt a problem if you can pay it off, which they can.
And about being too big to go down, both clubs are really close to their ''state'' (catalunya isnt independent but still). So if they have issues they can get help from there. Apperently madrid sold land to spain for an overprice and bought other land for underprice, but thats all romours, never seen any real news site say it
the thing is even though their debt is often huge , their income is huge as well. they get regular injections from sponsorships ( take man utd's massive recent deal ) , tons in tv rights ect . They generally have decades to pay off loans , and their constant success and income allows them to keep the club running.
Maybe a video also to explain why RM and Barca still remain such attractive destinations despite them not actually playing in a competitive league unlike the EPL.
Great video. Although when explaining how strong they were between 1965-1975, it may have helped to point out that in 10 years, they never finished outside the top 4 and were runners up 5 times in the league (often as a result of absurd decisions and/or ridiculous fixture congestion right at the end of the season.) Also they made the champions cup final in 1973 against AC Milan and that was way way waay more dodgy (seriously watch it it's unbelievable) than in 1975. I think it was proved in like 2003 that it was fixed and there was an (obviously useless) appeal for a rematch. But I'm not bitter . . Honest .
Guess who has returned to Premier League ;), Congratulations from a Liverpool fan! Welcome back!
Its sad what happened to them...My dad loved them and still insist that they are a good club.
It's supporters like your dad that will give the club a great platform for future success
Agree, Dads a Leeds fan ( Aussie so harder for him to keep track of) but this video I think gives him a great understanding of what happened.
exactly same for me
ur dad's fucking deluded LOOOOOOOOL
Hyperion sad indeed
Cellino has accomplished a great deal that goes unmentioned here. I think it's an appropriate time to bring that to light, as we have made progress on the pitch, table, and in the books. As supporters, we owe it to the club to be positive.
Jon Hoff true cellino has reduced the debts by a great amount and we're looking good on the pitch too, the club is definitely making progress on and off the field
I take your points but i would like to know what happened to Cellinos promise to buy back Elland Road and maybe the Academy.
Still he's on his way out now and the the team are doing well.
Jon Hoff Sorry pal but you are way off. Cellino got lucky with Monk. First he went for 2 league 1 managers mk dons Robinson and the Bristol manager both of whom rejected us! Regards the finances he slashed operating costs by stupid things like no water in the TA pool and cutting the kitchen staff so the players had to bring packed lunches. Also the debt has increased dramatically and we are still losing around 1m per month and we owe GFH around 18m. But if you want to praise old Massimer you crack on
the only thing big about leeds now are the fans
Update: glad that didn't age well haha
Fans like you Leeds can do without...fuck off.
Clive Bindley You really support the owner above the fans don't you? How bizarre
all im sayin is that leeds have a champions league fan base with a championship team i have nowt against the fans
@@sutlittle5441
How about now ?
Tim Loves Bacon fan base as big as those who regularly compete in the champions league
you need to make an updated video on this, about the new owner, the acquisition of the stadium by the club, and the bielsa effect
The music makes this video a little haunting in a way, especially how marching on together comes in at the end. So glad to say were back in the premier league with players like Phillips and Raphinha, Radrizzani as owner, and Bielsa as manager, and Elland Road back under club ownership. MOT ALAW.

Thank god I found this channel. The pace and the music really makes me enjoy these videos!
I love this channel!
Video suggestions: The downfalls of AC Milan, Inter Milan, and most recently Valencia.
Also, a video on Rangers' financial crisis 6 years ago that resulted in them being dropped to the 4th division would be a good idea. I also think you should mention how their financial issues had a huge negative affect on their arch-rivals Celtic.
Absolutely great video mate and this isnât your fault cos itâs recent but just for people who didnât know the new owner has actually bought back the stadium
While I love Liverpool, thereâs something about those early 2000âs Leeds teams I like. I think itâs a real shame what happened to them.
Great video but could you bring it up to speed. We arenât too bad nowadays.

As a Leeds fan, it'd be great to see a breakdown of the 18/19 season. Marcelo Bielsa, training methods, spygate..., ups and downs of the seasons and our battle for promotion!

They are right on the edge of promotion with Bielsa. Hope they make it to the PL. I am a LP fan but I admired the way that Leeds team played with Bowyer, Smith, Kewell, Harte, Rio, Viduka, Radebe. They had a real chance to turn a corner and be dominant
Great video
Going down to Leeds from Hamilton South Lanarkshire Scotland on Friday.
Always been a Chelsea fan as far as English football clubs are concerned miss they old battles with Leeds United when they where in the Premiership it is so sad the state that Leeds United are in now honesty even though I am a Chelsea fan I never wanted
Leeds United to get relegated from the Premiership it was a sad time for English football in my view Leeds United are a
Northern Power house of the English game and should be in the Premiership.
I hope Leeds United can get back to the Premiership this season comeing up.
Good Luck Leeds United from a Chelsea fan of many years.
really good videos
Big Leeds fan back in the days of Smith, Viduka, Kewell, Ferinand, Harte, and Robinson. Shocking how fast they went down. Still saddens me to this day.
RETURN OF THE KING
Love the Music
Great video. May I ask what tools you used to create it?
Can't wait till you cover Blackpool, my cousin will love it!
Rise and rise; marching on together
Love these videos, may I ask what is the name of that music track?
Times change.. They might have lost everything, but they have their fans passion and heart đđ
What a difference two years make!...
I would have never thought that a Championship club would have the pull to land somebody like Bielsa. Based on the comings and goings, there still isn't much of a long-term stability at the club, but it takes only a year to make it alright, and the manager can add so much to that.
Good summary. I so hope a decent owner arrives someday. In the meantime, Leeds are [so far] exceeding my expectations this season. Although it is never prudent for a Leeds fan to entertain a glimmer of optimism, my hopes for a brighter future are rising.
If you follow them regularly, then may I ask how did this come about? As far as I'm concerned, Cellino is still an idiot, so what happened this year? I used to follow them, but we no longer get Championship games here in Hungary...
AndrĂĄs SzabĂł They're currently 5th in the table and have probably been the best side over the past month, with the exception of Brighton. I occasionally see their matches on BeIn Sports.
Cellino let Garry Monk (manager) do the transfers and did not do much with the team sheets and stuff
Garry Monks signings have been class this season, Bringing Bartley (albeit on loan) and Jansson in has made a solid defense!
And now they're back!!
Wow, you took my advice
amazing videos man. keep them coming. id love one about Chelsea's rise to the top
Easy answer: pumped full of oil money
Jon Crowe money canât buy success. It requires a whole club. Look at the transfers in the past years in and out. They havenât spent that much money considering the amount of money they have generated from player sells
I'd love to see a new version. Leeds United: Fallen Giants Awoken or something along those lines
Hopefully our new owner Andrea Radrizzani can bring us back to the prem
SuperChris153 you will be in the prem next season
He is doing so appointing a bloody wizard bielsa
We're almost there only nine games left
He did đđ»
Its sad what happened to Leeds. Such a rich history and great supporters. And play in a big city as well, hope they get back in the Prem. They almost got back this year in the Playoffs. They are definitely favorites next year!
The Solo as a Leeds fan I donât believe weâll go up as the team over performed and the owner has stated the club will have a difficult summer transfer window. Luckily bielsa has stayed but our side is nowhere near as good as we think. Weâll just wait and see what happens and if Leeds can get into the promise land of English football.
They are back and they are staying up this year mark my words.
I read Sir Alex's biography and he spoke of Don Revie in glowing terms! It's sad that the Revie era won less honours than they deserved!
They'll be back next season. It will be great to have them back.
Fantastic video!
All I knew about Leeds United before watching this video, was that they were the club that sold Danny Rose.
I an a Leeds supporter and I will never leave this big club
2000/2001 Nigel Martyn,Danny Mills,Rio Ferdinand, Jonathan Woodgate,Ian Harte,Olivier Dacourt, David Batty, Lee Bowyer, Harry Kewell, Allan Smith, Mark Viduka . What a dream team....
great video but u missed out two inter city fairs cup as well as 1965 league cup
Could you do one about the rise and fall of Nottingham Forest ?
this is a superb video sums up our history perfectly had some great teams on the pitch but mismanaged off it by greedy chairmen (Ridsdale and co) MOT
This needs an updated follow-up, examining what went wrong under Cellino, and how Bielsa can bring us back
Do one of these for Blackburn
The sad thing was that in the late 1990s, Leeds had a good team, playing attractive football and were competing for a top 4 place. Ridsdale was an idiot as he/they did not need to gamble the future of the club in an effort to buy trophies.
so were Chelsea before abramovich
@@keyuantejohnson6266 The difference was that Abramovich actually had the money, so no gambling of the club's future involved.

Especially i remember the Australian couple Kewell - Viduka đŠđș
This hits different now with promotion and Bielsa
It's a shame, how a big club like Leeds can fall from grace.
Could you do Derby and Forest?
Arsenal fan here, and it would be nice to see Leeds back again in the Premier League. They are historically one of England's most important clubs, and seeing them competing in the PL again would be great.
Thanks! We are back!
do one of these for the blackburn rovers please.
They're BACK!
Loved this, getting my girlfriend to learn our history đđŒ
We own Elland Road now tho đđŹ
Thank God for history and time.Leeds are doing fantastic in the premier league nd would never return to their doldrums again
They are likely to return back, just not in 3-7 seasons, bielsa's is the only saving grace as he try to redeem himself from all of his failures like leeds, once he is gone, leeds might return to the championship again.
â@@r3zafulđđđđđđđđ what were you saying
Basically, leeds tried to do what man city and chelsea have done. But didn't have the funds to do it. So went down. Same went for Portsmouth post 2008. Money in football is needed, but has become far too decisive a variable in the fortunes of clubs and leagues. And it is killing the romance of the game. The romance that made us all football fans to begin with.
Chelsea and man city have more history and are bigger clubs than Leeds
Anyone know what the music for this comes from?

Leeds were a powerhouse in the 1960âs-1970âs, and in the 1990âs-2001 Leeds were a top 4 club, just behind Arsenal and Man U. It is unfortunate and sad to see this great club get treated poorly due to corrupt owners. Leeds belong in the premier league
