  • Popcorn and cane syrup are the main ingredients needed to make these easy DIY old fashioned popcorn balls. Good all year round, but especially tasty during the fall and winter seasons. Give them a try, family, friends & guest will love them.
    Recipe Ingredients:
    Popping corn kernels
    3 1/2 cups of pure cane syrup [per 4 quarts of popped corn]
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    2 Tablespoons butter
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    I made these last night about 4 in the morning. They tuned out really good. They taste like the ones I ate as a kid after church. I haven’t had this type in over 20 years! I didn’t think I would find a recipe. I looked some years ago and was overwhelmed lol. This was a big surprise. I didn’t expect them to taste just like the ones I remember.

    Old steen's syrup. The memories and nightmares 😂. My Mom and I were just talking about popcorn balls and how fall makes you want pecan candy, popcorn balls and candy apples.

    I would like to know what size pan is used for the popcorn or how many cups or quarts of popcorn you make for this recipe. I know it is delicious!

      Bonjour Chris,
      The roaster is between 10 and 12-quarts. Pop enough corn to fill a roaster that size and you should be cookin with gas! Hope this helps.
