Dey call me da flip lady or da candy lady. I had 3 freezers in my house. 2 was just for flips. I made between 150 and 200 flips everyday. .50 each. A hundred bucks everyday just from flips. And I always sold every one ov them. But these things should be $1 each cause koolaid and shuga...ain't cheap! I don't sell them anymore but everyday and anywhere I go, someone always ask me if I still sell dem good ass frozen cups😂. And when da lil kids see me dey say...dey go da chilli cup lady. I kiss it. Do sometimes I would make them and post them on my fb page and tell em to come get em...dey free! Thanks for sharing this.🙏🏾😋👍🏾👏🏾

Wow that's cool to hear from an actual candy lady herself. I couldn't imagine have 3 freezers in my place. lol 100 to 200 flips a day. Wow you were making a lot of money back then. I know that was a lot of work too! Yeah I'm sure Kool aid and sugar was definitely not cheap back in the day. Now it's really cheap to buy. Still popular though. It's amazing how things have changed since then. Thanks for sharing your story.

Charlie thank you for bringing back old memories. My grandmother was one of those people who had her own store out of her low income apartment in Lake Charles Lousiana. The kids & adults would come from miles around to get her frozen cups. U made them perfect. When my grandmother made her frozen cups it was like taking a science class everything had to be measure down to the T. Other women in her complex would try & sale frozen cups but they where no match to my grandmother. Besides her special love she put into making them she also had 2 secret ingredients she put in her cool cups, that definitely kept them wanting more. My grandmother would get up early in the morning because the kids would come before they went to school. Believe it or not this is how my cousin college got paid, my aunts down payment for a car & also my cousin was able to have a beautiful wedding off that strong black woman hard work. I can go on & on about my grandmother. I learned(I know this isn't proper grammar) so much from her. All her wisdom is what keep me going daily. Thanks Charlie for not letting those old traditions die. May my grandmother aka mother Dear R.I.H!😇

It's amazing how this simple frozen treat instantly brings back happy childhood memories! Awesome job Charlie for choosing vibrant colors that make the presentation "Pop".

I appreciate the compliments RLS. Happy that this video brought back memories. Oh yeah absolutely. I wanted a colorful presentation as that's how it was growing up. It wasn't just one flavor or color. People had several different flavors and colors and I wanted to present that in this video.

Kendall xo You are right about that. Oh yeah I remember the good ole ice tray where they would take kool aid and add it in there and freeze it. People were pretty creative back then. They used whatever they had, unlike today's world. Much different than those days.

iloveoldschool what part of Alabama are you from, because everywhere that I’ve been in Alabama they were called frozens or frozen cups from the 70’s until now. Bebops must be a new name?
