I grew up in Louisiana also and was craving these popcorn balls. So happy I found this video!
Me too! Enjoy, thanks for stopping by
I love Steen’s Syrup!❤️❤️❤️
Brought back a lot of memories from my childhood. Hucabucks & popcorn balls...
My mom made these for us as a kid , what a great childhood memory ,I'm about to make me a batch right now 😊
14:35 🙏
I think I’ll make some for Gkids
Those popcorn balls look delicious!!! Thank you for this video.
You're welcome 8
I haven't had those since my late grandmother made them for us in the 60s on Bayou Lafourche.
I want to make them for my
daughter and granddaughter. Hers were much darker, she must've used less popcorn.
I also think I'm going to add peanuts like Cracker Jack.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
:')
I often remember my grandparents making these delicious popcorn as well. Thank you for stopping by😊
Steen's is actually made in Abeeville louisiana.
Thanks 😊
i see you babe.. dressing up like a popcorn Ball 🎉… i like popcorn
Haha 😄
It's made in Abbeville Louisiana
I don't have that Steen syrup what other kind of syrup can I use on place of the Steen syrup. Looks delicious.
Great question 🤔
However there is no compatible syrup to steens. I've heard and tasted kyro syrup but it's not at all the same..
How did you wrap these when you were selling them? I want to try my hand at it...
Wax paper works wonderfully
Love the video can you share where i can get a mixing pail like that blue one ive been looking online
@ rigina blagas It was so long ago but I got it from Walmart during Easter holiday.. that's when they have all the decorative baskets and pans. I hope this was helpful
Thank you so much i will be on the lookout Happy Holidays
did you add that stick of butter to the steen syrup as well or was that just to butter your hands?
Good question 🤔 I added the stick of butter once the syrup was done ✔️ 😋
So im from Louisiana too. I wanna put a twist on the balls and infuse them. I would just substitute my infused butter as my butter in the syrup correct??
That would be delicious 😋 only thought is that they don't stay fresh longer than 4-5 days after that they are soggy.
Oh really? Wow I'm glad to know that. So..if I do it..I'd have to be sure to make a few and remake more within days of each other...I was gonna test them out first. So, am I replacing actual butter with infused butter?? Also, how many cans of syrup would I need to make about 10?? Let me know if you can help?
Thanks!
I remember my aunt use to make them and wrap em in wax paper sheets. Wonder If that would keep em fresh longer.🤔😊
Is the total amount of syrup about 3.5 cups?
A good question 🤔 I never measured it.
