Wow, I am completely mesmerized! I fell out of art for over 20 years but recently I've found renewed zeal for art again. Watching you paint really encourages me to keep going.
Well, I tip my hat to ya brother. Today I'll be painting for the first time on a canvas for a lady friend. I'm pretty good at drawing, but I knew painting would be a challenge because I didn't know any techniques. I must say the water and peel away effect was awesome and I'll definitely be experimenting with it tomorrow when I begin the blend. You're an awesome guy. Much luv.

Glad your inspired, keep painting. A quick note... At one time I wanted my art to lean more towards expressionism but I kept going back to what was comfortable for me so I added weight to my brushes and altered the balance, reducing my control of them. This forced me to change and after a while I acquired the ability to alter my style no matter what brush I used. The best part of this was the whole time I was painting and painting and enjoying every minute of it. I admire your work so much. I want to offer a suggestion. I have bought expensive online and DVD painting lessons however before I did, the person had offered a free full tutorial. It let me know that I could follow along and wasn't wasting my money. If you would please consider doing one, where it's step by step just like you say your DVD lessons are, then I would definitely buy the one's you have. I imagine maybe others would too. I know $99 is alot for me to take a risk on. You don't have to do anything extroidonary for the freebie, just something easy to give us a taste. Either way, I will always be a huge fan!!! How do you create so much depth?
Nomatter how many layers I try to add, the paint still looks flat With No smooth colour overlap.
Is it caused by medium, or transparant/opaque colours?
aside from the color its the darks and lights that create the depth. Everyone should do a black and white painting from time to time to remind them of the value of shading.
also, just a suggestion, to shade colors that don’t blend well I try to let it dry a little then I use a dry brush to softly blend so it doesn’t turn out muddy.
u ever try painting on primed panels? (hardboard)

G'day Michael, may I ask what brad your matte medium is? My medium, even just a touch, seems to make my paint WAY too liquid. I can't get the nice blend you seem to do so effortlessly!
I'm using Liquitex matte medium. Keep reducing the amount of medium until you get a blend that works for you!

Glad you like! Yes I throw water while the paint is wet, where the water sits stays wet while the rest dries and then I wipe, you can create lots of fun affects with this, enjoy...MIX
