Imagine you are so impactful that one restaurant which didnât use MSG started to use MSG
In my experience, chefs want to provide a good result and usually go for it with all the prejudice they have learned. Especially in Europe, people look down on MSG as some people don't handle it well and most consider it synthetical. So many think, it is more authentic to leave it out, until Asian people tell them that that's wrong, because if you don't use MSG it's not Asian.
You really think they will start using MSG now?
@@liquidminds MSG was patented in 1909 in Japan. So really, there are thousands of years of authentic food without added MSG.
@@adde9506 Sure. Traditionally. But not modern.
So when a chef goes to Asia, tries food there and then tries to bring the experience back to his home-country, he won't succeed without msg.
@@lavat9958 no, MSG was discovered in 1909 in a pot of kombu soup, kombu, like tomatoes, cheese, & fermented products have a high concentration of the umami flavor, the chemist that isolated the umami flavor call it Ajinomoto, so, to prove you're wrong, even before the discovery of MSG, people ARE eating foods with MSG.
