    To better explain why nobody plays the Sacred Beasts, let's go over what you have to do to get them
    1: Collect all 7 Spirit Keys
    2: Oh fuck Chanceler Sheppard distributed them to the best students in Duel Academy
    3: Defeat Jaden (Good luck with that), Chazz, Bastion, Alexis, Zane (Good luck with that), Crowler, and Banner in a Duel without losing to any of them
    4: Go into the catacombs underneath Duel Academy
    5: Don't have your soul stolen by the sheer power of the Sacred Beasts
    And once you do get them, you have to try and keep them from stealing all the energy from the Duel Monster Spirit World, resulting in every card in the world becoming blank, _including your own cards_

      Rasca's anime effect really was broken. Skip the battle phase, your opponent's life points become 1. Not to mention that it couldn't be attacked by your opponent or affected by his spell/traps. Sad how in the real game it's the worst immortal.
      The only good one was Aslla Piscu (the one Carly used) in my opinion.

    • @elijahpadilla5083
      @elijahpadilla5083 Před 6 lety +7

      Crazy Depending on how you construct your Deck, Aslla Piscu (the Hummingbird, Carly's) and Ccarayhua (the Chameleon, Misty's) can both be really good. Also, once we get the Lair of Darkness structure Deck, Uru (the Spider, Roman's) is going to be really good- Tributing your opponent's monster to steal your opponent's monster is some amazing shit.

  • @Intrepid_Explorer
    @Intrepid_Explorer Před 6 lety +264

    I just wish that they had some of their anime effects and support; Uria could Special Summon itself from the GY if you discarded a Trap (which also makes it even stronger), you take no damage the turn that Hamon is destroyed, Raviel only needed three monsters to Tribute (not just Fiends), Dark Summoning Beast could summon *ALL* of the three Sacred Beasts at once ignoring Summoning Conditions, Chaos Core could deck thin by sending the Sacred Beasts from your deck to the GY, Armityle could non-target Banish all of your opponent's monsters once per turn, and Dimension Fusion Destruction could summon Armityle with the Sacred Beasts in your GY (not just your field), etc. Oh and also they were Divine-Beast attribute in the anime; which means any God Card support would also help them out as well.

    • @FeanixFlamage
      @FeanixFlamage Před 6 lety +45

      could always make some continuous spells/traps that give them those effects, that way you're still playing "fair" monsters, while also having the option of getting them to broken levels of power if you can get a better setup later on.

    • @ThePhoenixWylde
      @ThePhoenixWylde Před 6 lety +23

      If Konami gave people a way to revive the Sacred Beasts, either in the form of specific, Archetypal Continuous Spell and/or Traps as well as doing things that increase the likelihood of getting all three on the board in the same way that a lot of modern Archetypes can get several boss monsters out in one turn with only a few cards (a personal favourite is how D/D/D can fill a board with a few cards) then people who enjoy the visual and thematic style of these three "Phantom Demons" could enjoy playing with them more consistently in fun casuals.

    • @FeanixFlamage
      @FeanixFlamage Před 6 lety +7

      the god cards main issue is that they just don't do a whole lot. at least uria anyway actually does a fair bit by himself. the trouble is summoning him, since there's no real way to actively get three face up traps to tribute for him on the first turn. even something like temple of the kings only lets you get one active during the turn it was set, unless you wanna try abusing bubble illusion (which i don't recommend) the god cards just need three tributes, and obelisk and slifer at least can also still be special summoned, provided you don't mind losing them in the end phase. you could just as easily spend three turns normal summon three tributes, use things like d/d lamia, speedroid terrortop, supreme king dragon darkwurm, or use scapegoat on the opponents turn and use the tokens for three link monsters, and everything in between to summon any of the gods. the other problem with the god cards is that outside mound of the bound creator, you can't really protect them that way, though ra at least has immortal phoenix to help protect it by establishing a cycle of rebirth between sphere mode, ra, and phoenix. obelisk is clearly just designed to smash things with little to no thought put into it, while slifer has a fair degree of control with his effect, but it's also sort of difficult to utilize in any meaningful way given how easy it is to play around him. i think if they want to support the god cards and the sacred beasts, they have to design support for each specific card, not support for them as a group. this is the main problem with ra's disciple. in the anime, it's clearly supposed to be support for ra, taking advantage of how ra's attack is determined by the monsters used to summon it, and 3000+ atk plus the life point conversion effect meant ra would always be a threat. this isn't the case in the actual game though, so it falls flat. i'm fine with dark summoning beast working the way he does, and i'd also like to see the other "chaos" monsters from the anime that helped the sacred beasts be adapted as well, though that particular group is more designed to summon armityle, so that's also pretty iffy i suppose. i'd like to see traps for uria that can activate the turn they're set so uria can be a little more proactively summoned, i'd also like to see monsters that can accelerate his summon and grant more attack by letting you dump traps to do things, or even having them be trap monsters. hamon could have continuous spells that add another copy when activated like that one continuous spell yubel used in the anime to summon it against amon. (but preferably with an additional effect, since otherwise it's just kind of a waste of backrow space) maybe have continuous spells/traps that grant hamon/uria additional effects if they're sent to the grave to summon them. raviel is a bit trickier though, since by all means he should be able to rally a wide range of fiend monsters and build an effective deck around summoning him. the problem is that he's objectively the worst between the sacred beasts, and even the god cards, so you'd actively make whatever fiend deck you're playing much worse by running him in it. it's clear he's supposed to be used with the other two, with hamon protecting him from battle, and uria clearing the backrow out so he can actually attack the opponent. i really don't know how i would go about supporting raviel unless they made fiends that were archtype specific to avoid having them just be fuel for extra deck summons instead. i'd continue, but i'm pretty sure i should be close to the character limit for youtube comments, lol.

    • @FeanixFlamage
      @FeanixFlamage Před 6 lety +2

      i tend to construct comments in a sort of "stream of thought" style, in that i type what comes to mind as it's coming to me. i also tend to find that youtube likes to fuck with my comments when i try breaking up my comments like what you suggested. but regardless, my lack of capital letters or paragraph breaks should have little to no real affect on the actual quality of the information i'm attempting to convey, so i fail to see how it's necessary to use "proper" writing structure on something as trivial as a youtube comment. (besides, i figure that if someone isn't going to bother reading through what i write, then they probably aren't worth discussing anything with in the first place since they clearly aren't willing to actually put in the most minimal amount of effort)

    • @TheTrueLeafless
      @TheTrueLeafless Před 6 lety +3

      Raviel might be an interesting option with the "Lair of Darkness"-Field Spell. The generated Shadow-Tokens are fiends and for his summoning you could use one of the opponents fiends (or Shadow-Tokens). Not to forget, that he has his own tributing effect.

But how much do you have on your opponents turn? None. Straight trash. Instead of giving it a good ability with actual thought behind it, they make another "OMG, BIG NUMBERS!!!!!!1!!" card. It's also a little paradoxical in that it needs to be popped in order to add a DIVINE monster to your hand but you want it on the field to provide protection for your God cards, so its also not nearly as good as Fallen Paradise is.

      The issue with the god cards is that they don't special summon themselves. If you do SS them, they off themselves. And there isn't a single card that actually helps you summon all of them. Like it's easy to run all 3 sacred beasts in the same deck, but almost impossible to run all 3 gods in the same deck. And y'know, not brick harder than Shaq at the free throw line.

    The new "Lair of Darkness" Deck could add in Raviel as a boss monster due to the number of Fiends it already has and that all the tokens from the field spell that it is named after being Fiends as well and the fact that they love tributing cards makes it a really good deck for Raviel.

    Raviel can theoretically OTK if you tribute Hamon but that's such a risky play you really only wanna do it if you're absolutely certain you can.
    Stuff like Stygian Street Patrol and Mystic Tomato really helps with getting Dark Summoning Beast out into the field without tributing, and Imperial Customs will protect your Continuous Traps until you're ready to use them to summon Uria, which makes Trap Monsters pretty effective. And Mound of the Bound Creator is a decent secondary field spell. Gives the same protection, and does a little burn damage. Which makes Hamon pretty dangerous, dealing 2000 damage whenever it destroys a monster.
    Just a few suggestions for anyone wanting to build a Sacred Beast deck.

    • @Lightn0x
      @Lightn0x Před 8 měsíci

      Crystal beasts was my favorite deck back in the day. But after experimenting with Hamon a lot, I concluded it's simply not worth it. The card just doesn't do anything, and it's honestly often not worth the 3 tributed CBs, which could be used for something like Crystal Abundance instead. You already run Rainbow Dragon in that deck, which is just plain better. And you only need so many 4000 beatsticks.

  • @AbdulRehman-fv2db
    @AbdulRehman-fv2db Před 5 lety

    8:03 to 8:09- that secondary effect is actually more useful then you think. I mean you can summon dark summoning beast with the pendulum scale or something then you can tribute it to summon Raviel immediately, then set call of the haunted and use it next turn to bring dark summoning beast back,also make sure you have a fiendish chain trap card set to protect dark summoning beast, then tribute it to bring out Hamon and then place as many continuous traps on the field,as long as you have at least 2 or more in your hand, but leave one space if you have heavy storm in your hand. Finally you can banish dark summoning beast from your graveyard to add Uria from your deck to your hand, tribute 3 of the traps and then summon Uria, then activate heavy storm then the extra trap cards you set will be sent to the graveyard and will give Uria quite the power boost(it will also get rid of any spells or traps your opponents set on the field so it's a win-win situation).

    I would really like to see if there's a way to work Raviel into Lair of Darkness, since his effect could potentially remove an opponent's monster and give you a big attacker. Also, summoning him can produce some lair tokens and possibly bring out a diabolos, regaining a bit of lost card economy. The trick would be to find a way to get three fiends out easily, which is much easier said than done.

    I will say I've managed to build a deck that revolves mainly around using Hamon and raviel which is a fiend focused deck one of the simplest cards that is useable to quickly summon Raviel is the Phantom blaster (genuinely forgot that things name) but basically once Hamon is in defense on the field and you have raviel the only other monsters or cards you would need are negate effect cards/monsters and use raviel and other monsters to attack
    Theres quite a lot of support options for raviel and hamon if they are the two main cards for the deck especially fiend decks have alot of support but the cards are lack luster in terms of how much a single card provides in terms of support so it's hard to keep a good balance of both spells and traps with monsters if you are overly worried about card effects
    Only issue is it's quite easy to over power hamons defences so even then an additional defensive support for Hamon would also be needed just incase
    But the key is learn how to play the cards and what card combos work best because even a simple deck like a Gaia deck using the gaia that gains 2600 attack for each card it destroys could quite easily catch up and supersede raviel and Hamon

    The Wicked Gods might not end up being quite as interesting of a video as this one, simply because the Wicked Gods don't have any specific support cards, but I'd still like to see a video on them. I'm a casual player, and I've done some experimenting with them (my personal favorite is The Wicked Avatar, though the existence of Moon Mirror Shield does make one of its effects a lot less special). They're a lot of fun if you can successfully bring them out, but I can definitely see why they don't see competitive play; that "if you can successfully bring them out" is the kicker. Well, that, and the fact that apart from The Wicked Avatar's anti-S/T effect, they have no built-in protection, meaning that unless you also have out Mound of the Bound Creator, good luck keeping them around.

    just wanted to say the three sacred beast were desined to be played together in a sense for example if you played uria and hamon together then introdused ravial it would make a very difficult barrier for your opponents (granted you would have to get kinda lucky or wait till this plan is able to be done) that goes to say i have all three and also a 5 headed dragon that i like to keep in my deck with a dragon shield or two
