They can only be on the field, one at a time, need a field spell to live and require some tributes to get out. There is no support which can make them meta or even decent. The only hope is if they give them retrains to be-rid the dumb restrictions and/or new waves which are fucking playable.
Ancient Gear Golemn has the "cannot be special summoned" effect but that is only one card, in a playstyle with cards that can special him out, "ignoring summoning condition" and/or enjoy using him as fusion material from the hand. I would have liked if they rewrote the card text like with that Malefic Field Spell Searcher that allows you to control multiple Malefic monsters.
Also the costs to summon the sacred beasts are too high. I would have prefered to sent just 1 Trap, 1 Spell or 1 Monster to the GY to summon any of them. Uria probably won't like it because less trap = less attack.
To be honest, I would prefer them to pring some of the anime support Yubel used and buff them a bit more like Triangle Force, Delta Barrier, Chaos Core, Immortal Class and whatnot

The armytyle strategy was never going to be all that great, and support that's too generic/advantage gaining, as you said, would run the risk of being another spellbook of judgement. So they divided it up into support for each individual summon strategy, and added points where they could converge into a single deck from several angles.
They now have given enough support to remove much of the brick factor from each individual playstyle, and if the rest of the new support is even remotely decent, we might see all three sacred beast strats actually be worthy of rogue.

What you've said is completely correct. I've been testing different sacred beast decks for a couple days now, and yea, the only card that helps a lot is dark beckoning beast. If you try to fit all three into your deck, it becomes slow and much less consistent. What they should have done was given the new magic and trap cards the anime-like effects as well, which when you activate them, you can place two copies of them on the field, that way you can summon the sacred beasts much faster and don't lose so much card advantage.

Based on Dark Beckoning Beast, I see three potential playstyles for the Sacred Beasts.
    1. Raviel OTK. Find a way to turbo out Raviel without using Dark Summoning Beast so you can use his new support card to OTK.
    2. Uria. I really don't know the playstyle focusing around Uria, but it seems like a Control deck might be necessary to support it.
    3. Armityle Turbo. The new Fusion just gets spell speed 4 if you have one of the Sacred Beasts on the field, so no real benefit in actually playing them most situations. Opening with Dark Beckoning Beast can either let you just let you play Armityle instantly (DFD lists the Sacred Beasts by name in its card text, so it's a valid search target) or ideally get you a chance to play Fallen Paradise after summoning Armityle for near complete invulnerability. The only real downside to that play is that you're stuck with a 0 attack creature on the field unless you get rid of it for something.

The deck will have at least 1 more new monster given the empty slot between the new Raviel and Dark Beckoning Beast. That card is likely going to be Chaos Core, the anime card that dumps 1 copy of each Sacred Beast from the deck to the GY if attacked in exchange for three chances at destruction/Battle Damage immunity. Chaos Core can also be Summoned by the new Dark Beckoning Beast.
I believe there is probably 1 more new Spell card as well.

If they were try and make having all the phantasmal beasts be summoned easily or then go into their final boss monster is would require something like plague spreader zombie, counting as two of their tributes for whatever lord you want, changing whatever monsters you have into the required cards and or special summon it from the hand by sending one continous spell or trap that mentions those things. But only be able to tributed for this archetype. Phantasmal beasts summoned this way deal 3000 less points of battle damage for your next five turns.

I have 2 ideas to make the trap and spell cards better:
make it so the trap card can activate the turn you set if if you control a face up uria
And the spell card, just make the negate a quick effect like red dragon abyss
It’s just an idea I’d consider using them at that point. Who knows maybe they are going to leak another continuous spell and trap

The first effect should be that you can summon Hamon by sending this card or 1 spell card to the GY. The cost for the sacred beasts are still to high and relying on Dark Summoning Beast isn't really that good.
It would be less confusing if Uria's summoning condition got altered to reflect the anime with Hyper Blaze:
    - gaining 1000 atk for any trap card (not just during the battle phase with a cost)
    - Revive itself upon destruction by sending a trap from anywhere to the GY
I honestly think some of the anime support cards used by Yubel could be more viable if buffed:
    - Triangle Force was a continous spell card that activated 2 other copies of itself from the deck to shit out a Hamon. It had no additional effect so you could certainly make it more generic
    - Delta Barrier was a continous trap that activated 2 copies of itself from the GY and can negate 1 attack per turn which was used to shit out Uria. Both Triangle Force and Delta Barrier could really benefit from being treated as both continous trap and spell while on the field and GY to help getting out Uria and Hamon as well as giving Uria the needed attack boost. Traps are too slow and Uria in a mixed Sacred Beast deck can be run over too quickly.
    - Chaos Core: It's protection effect is garbage but the cost of sending the tree sacred beasts from the deck to the GY is much needed to accelerate the conditions to meet summoning the fusions. The next best option is Prisma. Do you really want to run him? Perhaps you can draw some cards with fallen paradise tho.
    - Immortal Class: Terrible in the anime. But if you can lower the cost, and summon sacret beast from anywhere, I think it can be a viable support card. It's a normal trap that allows you to tribute 2 monsters to summon any level 7 or higher monster including Uria, raviel and hamon ignoring their summoning condition. Restrict it just to them and allow sending monsters from the hand to the GY.
This suppose to be a structure deck, playable out of the box, but so far I see more bricks than in a Starter Deck. They even added Phantasmal Martyrs a useless card that makes you go minus +2 for useless token normally meant for Raviel.

Agreed with majority of what ya said, tbh best build odds are will be playing Uria OTK Control, considering you can main deck cards like Summon Limit and numerous Continuous Traps which have been shown to be the most powerful cards in the game including meta cause usually they hurt meta, not to say Uria Would be meta but may become a decent Anti Meta Build? Could easily make a True Draco Uria Control Deck, and in a way especially with the new Support, Uria would Replace Master peace as a Slower But Physically Stronger Boss Monster just harder to get out but not by much, plus Speed Spell 3.5 Backrow Destruction aint bad and the Paradise Spell could help with a +2 sence the Field Spell is at 1 now. Idk, I think it be worth a Test Run, Hamon is OK but Continuous Spells suck tbh sence Ranks and Links exist (Level control is dead), and Raviel just is...idk bad but good? Easy to summon not as easy as Hamon but Fiend Decks are strong, tho they'd usually rather play pur BA and Fiend Support idk I feel Uria is the only one with a chance to be Good with this and his OTK Potential is Rediculous. I mean IG Hamon could be used too but tbh Hes weaker then Uria odds on and Unreactable Destruction is better then 1k burn per kill... Meh idk but I'm happy for these!!

I tested a deck with all the Phantasms and the new support.
    It Works... Decent.
I was able to have all the 3 Phantasms AND Armityle in the field at the same time in one ocasión, but it bricks a lot. I barely solved it with a good amount of Pots, Card Destruction, and things like that, but the deck dies in face of 1 Hand Trap.
And the new trap looks great in theory, but apparently it only ressurrects a Phantasms that was already summoned by it's own effect before, you can't discard one and then Summon it.
I'll say that the deck HAS potential... But it'll need a lot more than this.

The Hyper Blaze trap card seems powerful on paper (I initially had the same impression). However, the card is heavily nerfed due to a ruling that prevents the Sacred Beast monsters from being special summoned from the GY, unless it was properly summoned first (despite the text which says you can special summon it by ignoring its summoning condition). Elementsaber Aina and Dark Flatop have the same issue. The ruling on the Hyper Blaze trap card eliminates the potential of the card and renders it virtually useless (you telling me that I need 4 face-up or face-down traps or spells on the field to properly special summon Uria and Hamon?!?). No one is going to be able to use the first effect of Cerulean Sky Fire and Hyper Blaze to bring out the Sacred Beasts (requires too much set up and that's not going to make the deck competitive in today's standards; not even on a casual level). Due to the senseless ruling (unless the ruling is changed), this trap card will be virtually useless and will not make the Sacred Beasts competitive unless a new card is revealed which enables the Sacred Beast monsters to be special summoned properly in a much easier manner (for instance, a field spell or other support card which allows the player to properly special summon the sacred beasts by banishing cards (aka spells (Hamon), traps (Uria), or fiend monsters (Raviel)) from the deck or GY instead of having 3 of them on the field). Another method to make the deck more competitive is with a new support card (such as a new summoning beast fiend monster, continous spell, or continuous trap) which counts and substitutes as 3 spells (Hamon), 3 traps (Uria), or 3 fiend monsters (Raviel) for the proper special summon of a Sacred Beast monster. These are the type of support cards that the Sacred Beasts desperately need to be competitively viable in modern Yu-Gi-Oh.

  • @ParadigmZwei
    @ParadigmZwei Před 4 lety

Worth noting that Hyper Blaze's revival effect isn't as good as some might think. Ignoring summoning conditions from the Graveyard requires that the monster was properly summoned before it got there, and Dark Summoning Beast does not count as properly summoning the Sacred Beast. You have to summon your Sacred Beast via its actual proper method before Hyper Blaze can revive it. And Cerulean Sky Fire/Hyper Blaze do absolutely nothing to help with that as they still expect you to -3.
