I love the mental image of a fully grown Sullivan insisting on sitting in the groomer's lap to be dried.
Hehe some of them never realize their size. Don't have a dog but ragdoll cats get quite large. My baby still acts like perching on my shoulder like a parrot is feasible 😅 he's a big goober
😆😆😆
HA!
Literally what our 8yo rottie does constantly. He thinks he’s a lap dog 🤣🤣
Wait a year and I'm sure we'll get that video 😂
"Breathe. Breathe. I'm talking to myself and not the puppy! I don't need another dog! " 😂😂😂😂 we all felt that!
Oh, I CAN RELATEE! 😂😂😂
I’m saying the same thing
Absolutely 😂
Definitely ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I feel like the universe it trying to tell me something. My previous dog was a Rottie and I stumbled upon his photo yesterday.
Then, on Facebook, there was a Champion line breeder had Rottweiler puppies ready to go. (Undocked. It is illegal here in the UK.)
Now this.
"I do not need another dog. I seriously do not need another dog ..."
(In case anyone is wondering, and they probably are not, I went from a Rottie to a smooth-coated JRT! Who was meant to be a short-haired GSD but nope ... I do not need another dog ... )
In Germany, it's illegal to dock a dog's tail and crop their ears for aesthetic purposes. The only dogs allowed docked tails are those used for hunting because they often get injured on the tail.
Same here in Australia.
Same in Brazil!!!
Same here in Finland ( also ear cropping is not allowed either). I think it's the same in majority of European countries.
there's hunting in Germany???
@@ConnorEverything1997 of course, you have hunting in every country, a lot of bird dogs were bred here for pheasant and duck hunting. There are also deer and boar, although those are most often controlled by forest rangers since the populations get large without natural predators. But you have to get a licence and finish some tests before being allowed unlike in some other countries.
10 years ago an abandoned female Rottweiler showed up on my mom’s doorstep after my dad passed away. So my mom named her Poppy since she just popped up out of nowhere. And she is very protective of family especially females.
That's Beautiful!! That's the first thing beautiful I heard on the internet in a couple of weeks. Thanks for sharing that!!❤❤
This made me tear up. It like he sent the dog so your mom wouldn’t be lonely.
thank you for sharing! i lost my own rottweiler also named poppy nearly 6 months back and this just made my day
Women. Females is for animals.
"He is very, very nervous..." Sullivan looks at the camera: "I am very nervous"
Lol he confirmed it.
He’s so cute
I read that in a Ralph Wiggum voice
completely 😂❤
Hmm, I thought he was saying, "You think?"
vanessa: “you’re a really stinky guy!”
sullivan: “WAAAAAAAH”
He’s just a little baby 🥺
I had to laugh when you said he was stinky. My Vivca 's brother "pooped" on her when I picked her up from the veterinarian. And yes people do cross the street when you walk them and wouldn't believe her boyfriend was my cat Quincy!!
They dont stink tho. My puppy smelled always like forest. But maybe bc different hair. Hes a SWD
@@stephenr80 They probably stink if a sibling accidentally gets excited and pees on them. Which I assume happens frequently.
@@shirl3942 Yes, I would believe that. Dogs and cats aren't natural enemies.
The bombastic side eye he did when the dryer turned on made me laugh
SAAAMMEEE she said he wasn't gonna like it and he was like "NO MA'AM I DO NAWT"
@@brittnbee1462 Bless him for his first groom he was so brave
I have a German rottie/St Bernard mix. He’s is a house horse. Such a goober. He’s a love bug and doesn’t understand how big he is.
He sounds beautiful
Must be a beautiful dogo
Sounds like a glorious gentle giant
Sounds gorgeous 😍
Ah! He had Saint Bernard gene for misjudging his own size!
Our Saints were the same way. Low speed, high drag couch potatoes convinced they were lap puppies! They loved their family, though!
I love how she mentioned the misconception of Rotties being aggressive, because EVERY Rottie I've ever met in my entire life has fallen into one of two categories: Either a precious cinnamon roll angel baby without a mean bone in their body, or a high-strung, neurotic busy body who had to make the rounds of the house every hour to double check that everything was cool lol
My friend's Rottie's standard greeting, for new people and old, is to roll over and beg for tummy rubs. Tongue lolling out of her mouth at one end, tail stub wagging like mad at the other, and her whole body wiggling in joy. Yeah, super scary.
@@spacelasertech8359 I mean, getting nearly smushed to death by one who thought she was a 10 lb lapdog but was actually bigger than me is vewwy scawy 🤣🤣 my friend heard me gasping on the couch and said "you CAN tell her to move!!" me, choking: "ₙₑᵥₑᵣ!"
@@debjoy12 my husband was dog sitting a rottie. He was sleeping on a water bed and the rottie took a flying leap onto the bed, flinging him into the wall. He's just woken up, his shoulder dislocated, and she's standing on the bed, tongue hanging out, wiggling all over wanting to play.
the latter is my sister dog for sure. she hears a baby cry and has to help and figure out whats wrong lol
Grew up around a family friends Rottie, named Dog. The biggest danger was him sitting on and squishing me 😂😂
1:25 That face, man. Puppies have a real gift for making you feel like a monster when you know the bath is for their own good. 😂
And the whimpers didn’t help either 😭
No, this bath at 8 weeks is absolutely necessary. The dog stinks really bad. And 8 weeks is when dogs should get their 1st bath anyway, so they start getting used to it. Especially big dogs. It's far less traumatic for dogs to start learning to be bathed at 8 weeks than to wait until they're 3 years old and been sprayed by a skunk or rolled in a dead squirrel carcas.
@@CricketsBay
This… But that 2nd example sounded personal 😂 much love
@@josefkrejci8107 as a tiny puppy my dog used to eat his own shit/my cat's shit and get it all over his face and his ass. he would also sometimes get pee on his legs and not lick himself clean. also when taking him for walks over the park he would smell after coming back so yes there are many reasons to bath a small puppy.
@@CricketsBay years ago my aunt and uncle's beagle came back home (they have a very large property so normally Pam would just roam around the farm every day) having obviously rolled in the absolute deadest, most disgusting and foul carcass ever imagined. my uncle had to hose her off outside first before my aunt would even let her in the house so she could get a proper bath!!
We rescued an abused senior rottie and he lived another happy 3 years. He's the best dog we've ever had, the sweetest boy and definitely made the family feel safe. I'd love to have more. 100% recommend.
thank you for saving him, the human evilness knows NO BOUNDS, on the other end theres loving folk like you, ill never understand it but it is what it is
THANK YOU
@@CristinaF210 if anything I'm thankful to him. His previous owners did nothing as their bigger dogs attacked our boy. Was severely neglected and malnourished, they finally got rid of him after one of the dogs bit most of his ear off. He was scared at first but quickly came to life and ate heartily. A quiet, gentle giant. Made it to (we think) 11 years old and had nothing but good days til the end. It's the least we could do, and I'd happily do it again with a rottie or a senior pet needing a place to live out the golden years.
Bless you for giving that angel the love he deserved 🤍
This did it for me. I've been really wanting a dog lately (I've never had my own) but I wasn't sure what breed I should go with. I was considering Pittie or German Shep but Rotties I hadn't considered until I watched this video. Your comment sealed the deal for my first adoption. Thank you!
@@wickdwabbit I'm so glad to hear that, it means a lot and I bet you won't regret it. We've always had at least two dogs since I was a kid, some made it a lot longer than others, it's the unfortunate downside to adopting senior animals is your time with them is even shorter. As much as I recommend giving senior animals a chance, it being your first dog, it may be nice if you find one on the younger side to adopt. It's literally the only thing I regret about having our rottie is how little time we got with him. The time goes so fast. And he really was the sweetest dog I ever met. Anyway long way to say I'm glad you considered a rottie, hope it's love at first sight just like for us. 💜
7:25 This, ladies and gentlemen is what we call "cute aggression". It is completely normal and harmless.
It’s so cute!!❤
It’s actually a very healthy brain reaction! It’s similar to being so angry that you end up laughing. It’s the brain trying to calm you down basically 😂
I always get this. How can you not get it with such beautiful animals? 🥰
Puppy who has experienced almost nothing yet: getting wet is the literal worst thing ever!!!
Truly what it feels like to be a kid
Even puppies of the water dogs breeds are wary of water at first. But usually not for long.

As a German rottie owner, it’s all about you as an owner and the training you’re willing to put in. We watched SO MANY videos on Rottweilers and once we adopted him, immediately put him into training for both him and us. He is the most well behaved and kindest boy (plus he has a tail)!
You cannot own breeds like this if you’re unwilling to do the training. They are SO motivated and willing to please but are indeed stubborn.
I grew up with Rotties and the only one that was "aggressive" was one we rescued. She had an extremely high prey drive and the previous owners never worked on her. The main thing that tied them all together is their love of being bathed! The guy who washed her still talks about how much he misses her
My rotty, Angel, was absolutely the most amazing pet I ever had. An indoor pup, she loved everyone, was always up to play, spent time outside on the front porch but would frantically try and get inside if she happened to see a bug. She was the most loved pet and truly my best friend. RIP Angel
I'm so sorry for your loss. She sounds like she was a wonderful companion.
Vanessa: "You can´t climb me like a tree."
Sullivan: "We´ll see about that."
He will in like a year.
He's like "challenge accepted "

LOL I said, "wanna bet?!" when I heard that 😀
"i dont need another dog" 😂😂😂
How many dog owners have said that, after losing their bast friend? With us, each time, and we had a new one within the week.

The cute aggression during the nail trim is exactly how I felt watching this video.
He’s had a lot of things happen in the past two weeks of his life. He’s left his mother and siblings, he’s got a new family, new smells and sounds now he’s getting soaked. It’s a lot for nine week old puppy.

And his tail docked too, the wee soul :(

When you said you walked your 120lb Rottweiler at 10 years old, that reminded me of when I used to walk my old neighbor's late German Shepherd. I felt so safe when I was walking him because whose gonna mess with me while I had a full grown male German Shepherd by my side. I loved him so much!! RIP Clutch.
We had a GSD when I was a kid, and he was the best, most protective dog. He was mostly an outside dog, because that's what my father believed you were meant to do with dogs, but when he (my dad, not the dog) went away on business, we'd bring the dog inside and he'd sleep in the hallway so he could watch over all of us at the same time. He'd lie down in a spot that gave him a view of all our bedroom doors. He was amazing. I still miss him and it's been almost 30 years.
@FlailTV That's awesome!!. I miss Clutch too. 😢. He was the best dog ever!! I never had a dog growing up because we just didn't have the space or the money for one. Now I have a Ball Python!! He's the best Snake ever!! 🥰
@@karenrosenberger1321 aww my partner used to have a ball python. He fell in love with her when he went with me to get my first hognose from someone who was downsizing their snake keeping. Oh sweet baby. My dad had a huge rottweiler and he was the softest, goofiest, love bug I've ever known.
When isn't a puppy the most adorable thing to start one's day.
When you live in Europe and get this dopamine boost late in the end of your working day... which is arguably even better
When you actually own one... that's when ita not lol
He’s just the cutest little squish ever 😭❤️
😫 so squishy!
definitely started crying at this one cuz i had a rottweiler from 2011-2021, we had him as a puppy like this and he was the best dog we've ever had. he was the sweetest, most loyal, most level-headed dog i've ever known. I miss him so much
I knew a guy who had a female Rottweiler and one of her pups. The "pup" was named Goliath and he was one of the biggest dogs I've ever seen, totally dwarfing his mother. They were both the friendliest and sweetest dogs I've ever known.
Vanessa is fully smitten by this little floofster. 🥰
I've had one Rottweiler, and he was easily the friendliest dog I've ever had the privilege of raising. He was friendly with the UPS guy. He let my baby (at the time) nephew snuggle up on him. He allowed our cat to eat out of his bowl. The cat did get some side eye for that, but that salty look was the extent of his aggression.
Rottweiler breeds are an interesting bunch. They're bred to be guard dogs, but they're some of the most friendliest doggos out there :3
My neighbor down the street had a giant female rottie and I became obsessed with her. She's the reason I'd ever consider having one.
Did you do any special training with your Rottie as a pup?
@Lillian.Gao. , just properly socialize them ( like all dogs should have and obedience training) they are the best dogs. I've had 4 of them over the years. Two were service dogs.
I worked at a dog friendly store and we had a regular who always used to bring his dog in. Absolutely massive rottweiler. Absolutely giant marshmallow.
Whilst his human was doing boring electronics purchasing, he would take up the role of greeted, approaching people for pats on entry, then going to sit by the actual human store greeter.
He was an excellent (if stinky) ambassador for his breed.
TBH every single rottweiler I've met has just been a giant marshmallow. They're one of my favourite breeds
“I don’t need another dooogggg” was what I am telling myself, too. This little guy is so adorable
That look into the camera at 2:30 like "Ma'am "nervous" is a very weak word, will you guys seriously let her do this to me??" 😂😂😂 I got my weekly dose of puppy eyes from this vid, such a precious tiny whimpy creature, I'd protect it with my life.
I’m not crying, I’m cutting onions. My landlord already hates my Pittie, but I really really love Rottweilers. I miss my childhood rottie, Tina. She was a German rottie too. 🥹💓🐶
The eyebrows alone make Rottweilers my fave. And then there’s the Carl books. ☺️
Why do the eyebrows fascinate me?!
Yeah when you watch those M&Ms bobbing up and down above their eyes it’s impossible not to smile.
7:35 I feel that.
Been a couple months since my rottie/lab passed away. Local rescue when he was less than a couple months old. Almost hundred pounds, behaved like a saint, a few health problems. Shoulder surgery when he was young and diabetes with regular insulin injections. I loved my boy to hell and back. My best friend, god he was like a son to me.
Keep telling myself that I need to go out and look for another baby to help raise and protect, seeing this little guy might be a good push to find another rescue
I’m so sorry for your loss of your best friend, they really break your heart to pieces. You could always foster and meet lots of adorable dogs in need… before inevitably falling in love with one and adopting (that’s *my* game plan anyway!)
If you're young enough and strong enough you should.
This sounds like a sign from your boy that it’s time for another love to come into your life. ❤.
My neighbors have a big male rottweiler. One time a section of the fence between our backyards fell down after a storm. My partner and I went out to inspect the damage, and the dog was standing in his yard looking very confused. We started talking to him and he immediately got very excited and ran into our yard to beg for pets! Honestly, every rottweiler I've met has been exactly like that. Very chill and sweet.
Rottweilers are the absolute best. Grew up with one from kindergarten up until junior high. Never had a problem with aggression. She was a total angel/sweetheart. Miss her till this day ❤️
He is so cute. I think he did really well for being an understandably nervous puppy.
DONT YOU TEMPT ME VANESSA!!!! These little guys are too precious 🥹
There used to be a pet store in the local mall. One time, I went in and they had a beautiful blue Rottie puppy . . . who had decided that the store was Hers To Guard.

Nooooo! The way he looked with the happy hoodie on! ♥️ I can’t.
I adopted a rottie baby when I lived in TN and he still had his tail. His name was Diablo... We called him Dio. He unfortunately passed at 3 months old, we only had him at home for 3 days before we found out he had parvo. He spent the rest of his life (2 weeks) at the vet trying to beat it. He was already emaciated from being in the shelter, I think he didn't have much left in him in the way of energy and no extra weight to lose. RIP Diablo this video reminds me of your sweet face ❤
Parody is horrible. I know there have been a few suspected cases where dogs have passed it onto humans and they expericed a horrible death
It's even worse than rabbies.

Sullivan’s little cry is so sad. He’s adorable!!❤
You are very understanding that they are calmer about drying if you hold them. Sullivan is just adorable!
Oh my goodness, when you said you used to walk your 120lb rottweiler at 10 I started to tear up a bit, because it threw me back to when my sister and I used to take our rottie Cheida for short walks on our own, at the ripe old ages of 6 and 8. She was *incredibly* well trained by my dad and he taught us how to treat her since day one, so it was only natural for us to walk her by ourselves, despite us being so young. I honestly cannot imagine a more incredible dog than her. ❤

I’ve bathed him several times, & each time, it’s been like this….he’s a year and some change now. I don’t think he’ll get much better 😂
He is a little sweetheart. The Rotties I've known over the years have been excellent dogs.
My rottie, Bubba, stumbled into my life when he arrived at the shelter I was countering at. He was about 10 when he came into my life. I got 4 golden years with him. He saw me through cancer (now in remission!) and many, many bad days. I miss him, My Bubsy Boy
I have always loved Rotten-weilers❤. When my boys were very small, a friend had a pair of Rotties and we always partied at her house with everyone's kids there. One time, we had a small bonfire, and I watched my friends male Rottie walk with my boys, him being closet to the hot coals, slowly widening his circle to keep my boys from getting hurt (I was right there and within reach of my children). That was the first time I'd seen any animal keep a child from potential danger.
That face deserves all the kisses!! ❤❤❤
I have an 11 month old Rottie (1 year March 1st) and he is just so darn sweet!! He’s still learning to not jump on people the first time he meets them, but he’s super friendly and cuddle and he absolutely LOVES for walks and getting pets!! ❤❤

AGREED, there is NO REASON whatsoever to cut ears or tails. This is STRICTLY cosmetic.
If you are going to say "It's so they don't get injured in a fight" then I say YOU are a terrible owner, as your dog should NEVER be in a fight under your care.
Unless they're used for hunting or livestock protection
@@wbrodie55 You mean a retriever for duck hunting?Dogs that protect livestock also require no mutilation of ears or tails as their presence alone scares off would be predators.
I'm not seeing your argument.
From my own experience dogs tend to target the neck or face in a fight, so the ears and tail are almost never at risk anyways.
The most recent example I can give was when my family's dog (a large Finnish Lapphund) had an argument with a neighbour's dog (a former street dog). Both dogs went for the face and neck above all else.
And don't worry, those two are friends again! Neither had any major injuries afterwards.
@@_BLACKSTAR_Any “working” dogs where they have constant contact with underbrush may require their tails being docked because they can be caught in bushes and pull. Also, you argument about livestock protection dogs is stupid, frankly. Predators can still attack them, either because they’re attacking in groups, or because they’re desperate for food. Another reason a dog may have its tail docked is to prevent it from getting mangled because they simply wag it so much and it hits hard surfaces like doorways and tables, and can even sprain from the movement. I know a dog that happened to. Docking for fashion is wrong, but banning docking (for tails, not ears because there is nothing that can excuse docking ears) all together causes issues for working dogs and extremely tail-happy dogs.
@@crazystupidbean sorry but whats wrong with his statement about lifestock protecting dogs? The dogs I saw all had their tails - without exception. A Kangal etc. with docked tail? No way.

My HEART. I miss my rotti so much. There are no memories like that of a rotti puppy. They are too cute.
Am gonna say something that’s probably gonna cause controversy, but as long as people continue to buy from breeders that put their dogs through unnecessary aesthetic modifications (whether the potential owners want it or not) will continue to do so as long as they’re making money from them. Boycott breeders that dock tails, tape ears, or carry out any modifying procedures on their animals.
No. Nothing should be a sign to get an expensive dog. Adopt stray pups. They deserve homes more than anything. & It can't be a personal choice, because when you buy a dog you give preference to puppy mills and several other cruelties.
Can't agree more, but as a local shelter volonteer I can asure you can find rotweiller puppies in adoption. Just saying.
Agree
If you watched half of Vanessa's videos you would know that a true BREEDER isn't the same as a puppy mill. They aren't the same as a pet store. They aren't the same as Jim down the street that just had a litter of puppies and wants a ton of money for them. Not everyone can take the chance with adoption. Shelter dogs have a past and they need a family that can give them a good home NO MATTER WHAT THEIR ISSUES. Not everyone can do that. Some people need to buy a dog that fits a particular need and lifestyle and a true breeder can offer that. They cost that much because of how much work goes into being a true breeder that does it for the love of the breed and wanting to maintain healthy dogs throughout generations. Do some research.
Oh. My. Goodness!! The level of adorable-ness is completely overwhelming 😭😭😭
Cute Rottweiler! When I was a kid I had a book called Carl the Rottweiler. The books made me fall in love with Rottweilers.
please, if the next videos start just like this one did, we will need a "cuteness overload warning" so our hearts wont explode from love
Rottweiler's are sooooo sweet, we had a wonderful boy for over 10yrs till his death many years ago. He was very loving and very protective but not aggressive I found him one day cuddled around a baby bird that fell out of a tree and another time I found a kitten under our house that he had been protecting till I found her and brought her into the house. He loved his kitties we had 4 and he loved them all. I miss our Buddy all the time.
This is the cutest puppy I've ever seen
