Once the wood is cracked really bad it will crack again. the wood is compromised. If this house was smooth wood I would do the same. The way I figure if people want that kind of work they should not wait 20 to 25 years between paint jobs. People who want all the wood caulked and cracks fixed should get new wood before you paint especailly when they wait that long to paint like this customer did. average paint job should be 8 to 10 years max. This house was way into deferred maintenance. If they paint again in 8 years the next paint job will fill in the cracks.
When you spray a stucco building (in my case a stucco pool house with two color stucco trim) do you spray the walls first or the trim first? What is the advantage of doing it your way?
i usually spray the walls first otherwise you will get paint on your eves. harder to cover the eaves than the stucco. running the paper or plastic upside down is almost impossible. you would need to use a shield. and unless your extremely good at spraying you will it the eves.
Customer wanted a quickie job that's what they were willing to pay for that's what they got although honestly most painters would put about half as much material on
rough sawn wood with 100% acrylic flat self priming does not need primer. If I were using enamel I would surely prime. I never use enamel on rough sawn wood (yuck)
I like your narrated videos. Very relaxing to watch.
Nice heavy even coat, good technique👍
I like the new voice over format too
I'm not a painter by trade but I can paint. I've become better 10 fold by watching your videos. For this I thank you.
Same here. I was always fast, but I've become more efficient so my body isnt destroyed by days end.
That paint seams to cover really nice . And flows really good to .
Man you are careful with that brush, solid job bro
I was the fourth guy to give you the thumbs-up sorry so late
thanks Tony....Hopefully I will be painting something soon. I have been on a few commercial jobs that have branding so I cant film them.
Solid work Mike. Curious as to what kind of brush you got there?
The first one I found in the Box. Harbor freight avanti. Not bad for a cheap $5 brush
What sheen do you prefer on wood fascia?
I see quite a bit of small cracks , do these need to be filled?
You Mess.with Flowtrol? Extenders?
do we need to clean it before paint it?
The facia is pretty raised and cracked. For my customers, I typically sand, caulk the cracks and primed first. Is this overkill on the prep ?

You use caulk to fill cracks on fascia boards? What kind of caulk and why not spackle or joint compound or elasto patch? Genuinely curious
What kind of roller is best for acrylic paint on Facia?
Do you like flat brushes better than angled for exteriors?
yea i use angle tips for tight areas. facial boards flat cut brush walls flat cut. French doors angle

Curious why you didn’t remove the flag holder and paint behind it.
I always thought heavy coats were undesirable vs multiple thin coats

Looks like you are dripping paint on the bushes around the 7 minute mark
😂this guy. It’s fascia, not facial
That's a true story
Lol I can't 😂
I take it where your from u don't believe in priming raw wood
